When she asked me to turn over, I couldn't understand her so I asked her if she wanted me to turn over and she gave me an attitude. When she was done she just left. I gave her a tip but probably shouldn't have. The ceiling looked nasty and the massage room was cold. No warm blanket and no bolster for the ankle or knees.

She was incredibly thorough and clearly very knowledgeable. Not only did she use effective massage techniques, but she also incorporated stretching and other therapeutic modalities that really targeted my problem areas. Fast forward two days and I showed up for appointment at Madalyn's specified day and time. The receptionist informed me my appointment was the day before and I had missed it. I showed her the text exchange I had with Madalyn stating my rescheduled appointment. She apologized and told me Madalyn wasn't working and I'd have to reschedule. I was very disappointed and will be looking for a different salon.

I decided to come here after looking for a salon that had a reputation for being contemporary, a little out of the box with their creativity, attention to detail and was attracted by the pride she took in her art and craft. Nicole loves what she does and it shows. Nicole is the very first stylist I have ever had a successful cut and style that I actually love * love * love! Great hair is possible and when you find it you know you have something special. I have used Square One, Studio Blue and like goldilocks found one just right when I arrived at Nicole's chair looking for that "just right experience." While the other salons I went to are all very good my search brought me to what I now think is my forever hair home. The entire experience was one of them carefully listening to my needs. But the main event of course is about the hair. Nicole cut my hair and she just made it wonderful. Nicole is wonderful. A true artist. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. Buckle up buttercup, things are about to get crazy! I went into this blindly, not knowing what to…read moreexpect, so I'm going to give you all the juicy details. My hubby and i had dinner next door and I got the wild idea to surprise him by getting a wax. I looked at the website and found that it was an easy process to book a service and they had availability the next day before I could chicken out. I arrived early and checked in. There is a small waiting area with various potions for sale along one wall. It was very minimalistic, clean and modern. Watching the people walk by outside distracted me from what I was about to do. I noted that I didn't hear anyone screaming so it must be ok. At my appointment time this tiny little sadist came out and got me. She was sweet and soft spoken. We get into her room where she closed the door and told me to take off my pants. Just like that?!? No dinner? No cocktail? No niceties, just "take off my pants" while she's standing there? Ack! I shrugged it off, thinking she was going to clearly see everything anyway but eek. She told me to lay face up on the table and assume the butterfly position. I told her to be gentle because it's my first time. She explained about the wax they use and a little about the process. She asked if I had watched any videos or anything then giggled when I said no. She assured me I'd be fine.... The nice lady then begins to apply hot wax to my most sensitive areas. Starting along the top and sides. This is when reality kicks in that she's going to have to rip it off, and rip it off she did. I kept my cool, focused on breathing. While I was distracted she did it AGAIN! On the same area!!! At this point I'm considering calling this whole thing off, but then I feel hot wax in an even more sensitive spot! And it is running INTO PLACES!!!! Into!!! Then I'm really concerned because I'm worried she is going to just flat out rip my lady parts off!!! Can that happen? Will I die? And then, she rips the wax. The most searing hot pain I have ever felt in my life rips the very breath from my body. You guys? This is worse than child birth. I've had four kids with horrible back labor and this was worse!!!!!! Then I feel the wax on the other side. At this point, I'm clutching my hair in my hands, sweating, tearing up, barely breathing, I mayyy die after all. The nice sadist lady notices I'm shaking and says she going to give me a minute. I whimper out a breathless thanks. She tells me that I'm halfway through the worst part. Ugh. Then sends me back into it. I felt my soul leave my body. But then she re-waxes those same areas several times to "get the little hairs" that had been left behind. I think she was just enjoying herself by causing me pain lol. So then it's over, right? Wrong! Now she tells me to hug my knees to my chest so she has access to my OTHER sensitive area. I start to quiver and she tells me it's the easiest part and quite honestly, she was right. NOW it's over, right? Nope. Now she wants to tweeze any strays she sees. I'm thinking to myself I've used tweezers a time or two, this part will be fine. I was wrong. Very wrong. It literally felt like she dug the tweezers deep into my pores themselves and rooted around for things. After a few tweezes she decides I've had enough since I was in so much pain and my skin was very angry at us. She finished me off with a soothing serum that she says will help with the irritation and prevent ingrowns and suggested that I purchase some to use at home. At this point I will do anything to get out of this torture room. I go to check out and they offer me a membership package because apparently people choose to do this to themselves more than once? I don't know if I'm those people. There you have it. The good, the bad, the ugly. Now that it's over it's almost like getting a tattoo. It hurts like hell but you think "I did that" and survived. I don't know yet if I'll do it again or not but we shall see....

I then received a TEXT not a phone call stating that the made a scheduling error and if I could come at 10:30. So unprofessional. My concern was if I made the appointment for 8am and had waited for them to finally come, how would they have accommodated me? Nonetheless. I didn't even pursue service with this business because I was so turned off with the lack of good service.

I have been searching for 10 years for a good wax person who takes their time and takes pride in doing a good job. I got eyebrows (free as a first time client), lip, chin, and lower arms. Painless overall. My chin is the problem area as the skin is sensitive but the hair is very difficult to come out which requires a lot of time plucking after the wax. Akirah was amazing and professional. She definitely took her time and takes pride in what she does. She was knowledgeable and very friendly. She made me feel comfortable from the get go. She would explain what she was doing and ask before she did something (plucking eyebrows) to ensure I was good with it. The pricing is very on point compared to other places I have been. I already made my 2nd appointment.
