Mango yogurt smoothie

We love Nepali food and were excited to try this restaurant. On Saturday night in downtown Baltimore and we were one of two tables. We order Butter Chicken, Naan, and Momos. This was the best butter chicken we have ever eaten, hands down. The Naan was delicious, too. We weren't able to finish the Momos yet, but the few that we had were tasty. Friendly and fast service. Definitely

I would have gladly paid $16.95 for sone good good but $16.95 for a mediocre lunch buffet?? No thank you. Had I known it was this much, I would have gone to the Nepal House.

I have been going to this testsujt for dine-in/carry out for nearly 5 years and it's always consistently delicious. My favorite is the goat curry(yes, it has bones in it--you get to lick your fingers ). The chicken tikka masala is also very good. One one my favorite Indian restaurants in Baltimore. Definitely worth checking out!

While Lumbini is still open for takeout and delivery, I had the chance to have dinner on a cold night before the pandemic slowly gripped the country. Daal soup, seafood pakora, saag paneer, gulab jamun, and a Kingfisher beer was the perfect meal. I hope they can fully open again soon.

I had dinner here once. The food came out extremely slow and had to take it to-go because I imagined I would come and dine for one hour, but it took 50 minutes for the food to come out. Nonetheless, the food was excellent and thought I'd give this place another try. Then comes today. I went in for lunch before noon and the same server showed me to the same table as last time. The place is quieter than other Indian buffets and less claustrophobic since it's more bigger. The food is actually better and seems healthier than other places. The service is excellent; it seems all buffets are trying to compete with each other. They will refill your water after each sip! I dined for $12.99 (lunch buffet) and it was worth it. Will come back.

Was visiting Baltimore and ended up eating at this place last minute... food was incredible! Highly recommended Update: Had to come back the next day because was craving their food so much! They remembered us and our orders, and were treated wonderfully! Definitely my new favorite Indian place.

Mango lassi: My least favorite part of the meal, this lassi tasted more like a drinkable yogurt than the sweetened mango smoothie I expect.

This review is based on delivery (through Grubhub). Delivery was quick and polite and the food arrived piping hot. We ordered two entrees (mutter paneer and gobi Manchurian) and single orders of butter naan, kheer, and mango lassi. I'll review each element separately but collectively, the meal was delicious. The servings were all exceptionally generous and the flavors, while mild, were delicious and balanced. Mutter paneer (served with rice): Creamy, rich, and mildly flavored. I prefer a more red mutter paneer but this was a good creamy version. The sauce is thick and and luscious, with gentle notes of cashew, tomato, and cracked pepper. Don't let the pepper deceive though, the cream lulls out any heat. The peas were perhaps 2 minutes overcooked: not mushy but they didn't have that bright freshness either. The paneer was drier than I would prefer, but was generously heaped throughout the dish which I greatly appreciate. Gobi Manchurian (served with rice): This will never be ideal for delivery. The precious crunch inevitably fades to a slightly greased limp. I was a little surprised to see a mix of cauliflower and broccoli but was unbothered (and honestly they tasted the same). The fried crucifers, peppers, and onions, bathed in thick and tangy tomato-based sauce that hung somewhere between a paste and a glaze. Spicy but balanced and the aromatics remained crisp and refreshing. Naan: Generously sized, this was a superb naan. Fluffly, pillowy, and fresh. It wasn't over-buttered or over-charred, as many naan are. It had the perfect bite and sturdy texture to scoop up all the thickly sauced bits. Mango lassi: My least favorite part of the meal, this lassi tasted more like a thinned yogurt than what I picture for a mango lassi. Sour and thick, the mango was a quiet second string to the yogurt. A good drinkable yogurt, but that's not the item I intended to order here. Kheer: HUGELY portioned in a drinking cup. The pudding was bright, mild, and fresh and the rice were perfectly cooked to a gentle bite. I would have personally liked to see some cardamom or rose-water here but that's just personal preference.

Chicken Tikka Masala, Gobi Manchurian, Catering Package #2 with Vegetable Samosa. So bad.

While the food was quick and hot, it was unfortunately very bland. Not worth the price paid. Hopefully things improve after the pandemic.

We got the Kale Chaat, amazing, still talking about it. Crispy kale, yogurt w/ mint, sweet and savory and crispy. Omg, you gotta get it, I want it again already! For dinner I got the chicken dumplings (momo) and my husband got the tandoori chicken. It was actually too much food! The momo was delish but the tandoori chicken was the star entree for sure. It came with a side of masala sauce which was so tasty to dip in. Everything was actually pretty reasonably priced as well. My only complaint is that it was freezing inside - lots of guests wore their coats! They had a ton of to go orders ready - I'd definitely do that in the future, but it is nice inside! One of my new favorite spots for sure, I'll be back.

It had vodka, Prosecco, mango, and passionfruit puree. It had a nice balance of sweetness and tartness, though it was not particularly sparkling from the Prosecco. The paneer chili ($9) was decent but not quite what I expected. The paneer was tossed with garlic, tomato based sauce, peppers, and onions, but it was softer and less crispy than I was hoping for. The veg jhol momo ($18) was interesting.... The menu mentions a Szechuan pepper based soup, but I did not get any Szechuan pepper flavor at all. Instead, the broth had a creamy, almost tahini-like taste. The momos themselves were fine, but the broth was not what I was expecting. The mixed veg jalfrezi ($16) was okay. It had a good amount of mixed vegetables in a tomato based sauce with green chilies, ginger, and onions. We ordered it very spicy but it came out sweeter than I preferred. The Goan fish curry ($19) was excellent. The tilapia was tender and the tomato coconut curry was flavorful, rich, and comforting. It had a nice balance of spice and creaminess. The garlic naan ($4) was soft, fluffy, and had a good amount of garlic and herbs. The beers were good too. The Taj Mahal lager was light and easy to drink, while the Haywards 5000 had a stronger, maltier flavor. Overall, service was good. Our server, Aro, was attentive. They have an outdoor seating area. Ambiance was upscale without the prices. They are located by a parking garage but there is also street parking available as well.

It's not that it was bad necessarily, other places nearby are just better in my opinion. We ordered two chicken tikka masalas, garlic naan, and paneer pakora. I was disappointed to see, upon returning home, that they only gave us one side of rice for two orders of chicken tikka. That seemed a little strange to me especially since each order of chicken tikka was almost $20. The sauce had nice flavor but the chicken was tough and didn't fall apart like others I've had in the past. I would've preferred butter chicken but couldn't find it on their menu - maybe I just overlooked it or they have it listed under another name? The paneer pakora was OK, the breading was super thick and not crispy enough. The mint cilantro chutney it came with was unexpectedly spicy. I can handle my spice but I've just never had green chutney have that much of a kick to it. I didn't try the naan but my boyfriend said he's had better. All together it was $60 which seemed a little steep for what we got. The inside is surprisingly cute though and they do offer a lunch buffet. Would I return? Probably not just given the other options in the area.

I searched for the closets restaurant that was also opened on Yelp because that's a great feature, and found Nepal House. They have a banner on their site advertising their new extended hours of 11am til 1am. I was a little skeptical but figured it's hard to get Indian food wrong . . . They had a combo which came with your choice of specialty chicken, veggie samosa and naan. I opted for the butter chicken spicy level and garlic naan for an indulgent late-night meal before going home. That's the kind of comfort I didn't know I actually needed all week. I tried to order online but was having some trouble so called in for pickup. To their surprise, I was already outside, so when I was informed to arrive soon, I replied I was already outside. I went in after the 15 minutes my food was promised in and had to wait for a bit. I tried to make small talk with the young lady at the register but she seemed a little flustered for some reason. There was a couple seated in the main dining area but the bar was closed off. Ideally, I'd sit at the bar when I'm dining alone so I asked how busy the bar usually is and was informed it is usually packed. I didn't believe that at all because there were no signs of being used anytime in the near past at all. But ok. I continued to look around and noted the dated decor that was still rich in culture. My food was done and I paid. I've notice for some reason restaurants just hand you an amount on a machine and ask for you to pay. I asked for my receipt to ensure I wasn't being overcharged for anything and again she seemed flustered. She gave me the POS and said something, so I asked again but this time I asked to see what I was charged for. She then printed me a receipt and I waited to pay. Don't know what that was about but ok. Grabbed my food and walked fast to my car. I noticed a lot of people on that street either standing around or going in and out of businesses. I locked my door and proceeded to open my brown paper bagged late night dinner. First, I tried the veggie samosa which was steaming hot with very subtle flavors. I remembered asking if it came with sauce and was informed it did, so grabbed it out of the bag and dipped. It gave the samosa some more flavor but after seeing the dull green pea, I put it down and grabbed a piece of naan. It also lacked in flavor, and I couldn't taste any garlic. I opened my container with butter chicken and immediately dipped the naan in, like any good person would do. So hot, flavorful, creamy, seasoned, everything I needed at that moment. I would have jumped for joy but just grabbed the fork and went for a piece of chicken which was tender and I couldn't tell if it was a breast or thigh. So that meant if it was a breast, it wasn't dry but if it was a thigh, it wasn't juicy either. I was ok with the in between for the night. I didn't want to eat the rice but decided to indulge and scooped some onto my fork and then grabbed a piece of sauced chicken and quickly scarfed it down. I drove home and passed out in my parking space . . . . don't judge, mind your business. If you haven't passed out in your car after a good meal then are you really living? No, you're not. I'd go back for a late night meal if I'm in the area or if they are on my way back home again.

They didn't just fill up the container with sauce and call it a day, the serving size definitely reflected the price unlike some other places. The lamb vindaloo was full of flavor and spice with soft squares of potatoes. The butter chicken was creamy and comforting with the right spice level. Everything was ready on time and packed with care. I'd love to return to dine in for their lunch buffet since it seems like a great deal.
