    Indian Tea
    Sarah S.

this is one of the best experiences i've had at a restaurant in a long time. i went here with a friend on a quiet wednesday evening where there was only one other group in the restaurant. the service was excellent, everyone was super polite and kind. i ordered the indian tea to start, which was surprisingly sweet in a brown sugar-type way. they also brought us some thin crackers with a variety of condiments to start. for my main, i ordered the chicken xacutti and plain naan. the portion size was good and the flavors were complex. i ordered medium spice and i would say it was more along the mild end, but you could still taste it. i also tried my friends platter, which included dal, a samosa, and gulab jamun. i was quite impressed by the gulab jamun; although inconspicuous it was the best gulab jamun i've ever had! the lighting was a perfect level of dim and it felt really upscale inside. i would recommend this as a good date night place or a place to take your family. i will certainly be back here again.

Love the inside of the restaurant as well! Service is excellent and they make the food spicy if you want it! Cute decor as well inside.

So glad I found another hidden gem in my area! Since COVID I've been deprived of eating out, especially at any sort of buffets. I'm happy to know that this restaurant offers their lunch buffet again! I love to have variety when I eat Indian and they have it all. Their buffet is stocked with great staples like palak paneer, tandoori chicken, butter chicken and even gulab juman. Every time I visit, their staff is very attentive and the food is always refilled right away. Their manager is great about providing good service and keeping their customers satisfied. I looking forward to visiting more and I encourage others to give it a try!

A hole in the wall gem is an understatement. First off it's underground lol. To start off the flavors were so good we took the leftover Sauce not protein (there was no protein left) home in a container! I ordered the garlic naan, paneer, and Lamb . The lamb was absolutely soft but the paneer curry was amazing. Both dishes came with rice. The environment feels very private. It reminds me a lot of a traditional Italian restaurant. However the only thing I noticed is that the cups and table cloth were not the cleanest. And is the reason why I took away a star Overall I plan to come back and order to go in the future!

I noted with some amusement that they sent new staff to serve me, and I figure that's fine, I'm closing in on 5000 Yelp reviews, I'm a veteran at this. I ordered slightly unconventionally, getting a spread of dumplings and a side of dal with some bread. The momos were delightful in texture. They way the were served with sauce in between them rather than on the side was a little unconventional, but the end result worked well. My dal was richly flavored, with a fresh tadka clearly evident on top. The bread wasn't quite enough to mop up the whole thing, but I don't mind just eating straight lentils from time to time with a spoon, so ultimately this meal was a winner. I would be more than happy to return.

It is the kind of place that you can smell tempting you from about a block away. Almost everything we had was amazing. The naan was filled with sauteed onions and I could have eaten the entire basket. The biryani dishes come in your own personal Le Creuset Dutch oven and are truly the size of a family meal. The mirch malai tikka is basically a deconstructed chicken tikka masala. It was excellent. The chicken was grilled with crispy edges and the sauce was complex and decadent. We also tried the goat curry, which was rich and delightful. Sadly, the plan rice that came with the meals was terrible. Like, it felt musty, almost? It did not smell or taste right and we did not eat it. Our waiter was great, attentive but no hovering, and was helpful with choosing the right spice level. Overall, a very good meal.

I had never tried Kumari in the past so I was excited to say something new and then learned upon sitting down that they offer buffet lunches on the weekends for about $18 all in. The service was really spectacular considering, and the tea was really delightful. Mango Lassi was too sweet. The space is quite large and they have seating on both sides of the restaurant. This is a no-frills restaurant and sometimes you have to grab silverware and napkins yourself but with two people working there and a restaurant full of people I thought the service was great. Came back for a weekend to show my husband around and thought it would be a good idea to check this place out again after so many years. Maybe the chef has changed or maybe my 25 year old had low standards - but the food wasn't good at all. Everything tasted just.. sweet. However, chai is still good and kheer wasn't too bad either. Still giving it 3 stars for all the good memories associated with it.

This was highly recommended by one of the Indian guys I met at the CrossFit. It's a South Indian restaurant so they seem to have various options for dosa and other South Indian food. The name "Sangam," which means "meeting and getting along," evokes the spirit of mutual trust inspired by a classic Indian film of the same name. This romantic notion sets the stage for a delightful culinary experience. Upon entering, you might not find opulence, but the restaurant exudes a cool, neat vibe. The ambiance is unpretentious, with two diligent South Indian girls serving food with a warm smile, creating a welcoming environment. The menu is a treasure trove of South Indian dishes, many of which may seem unfamiliar, especially for those from a Punjabi or Pakistani background. Though the choices can be overwhelming, the restaurant is particularly renowned for its Masala Dosa--a must-try for any visitor. Here are some of our favorite selections: Sukha Goshat: A flavorful dish reminiscent of bhuna meat, prepared with an array of spices, served alongside naan or paratha--perfect for a satisfying meal. Biryani: Their biryanis are noteworthy, bursting with rich flavors that stand out. Appetizers: We often start with Chicken 65 or Fish Chilli. The tangy, spicy Chicken 65 has a unique flavor that distinguishes it from typical offerings at Indian restaurants. If you ever plan to visit Sangam, I'd love to join you for this delightful culinary adventure!
