I'm gunna go out on a limb and say Indian Delight is SEVERELY overlooked. It is an absolute gold mine and it should be packed constantly imo. It is certainly the best restaurant in Catonsville, and you won't have to pay $50 for one dish (like you would at say Beaumont). We have like 10 favorite things on the menu--I just tried 2 new dishes last night--and now maybe that number is up to 12. You basically can't have a bad order, the food is absolutely delicious. If you like spicy food and ask for spicy, they will actually make it spicy which is SO nice. (Usually when I ask for spicy and emphasize SPICY anywhere I go, I get a mega mellow spiced dish and it's hugely disappointing). My top orders are chicken xacuti, kerala fish curry, kashmiri naan, mixed spicy pickles, and malai kofta. Oh, and kheer (so good). I love it all. Not only is the food phenomenal, the ambiance and service is top notch. The dining room is absolutely gorgeous and spotless. The front of house staff wears button up shirts and dress pants. There are fresh flowers (and if I remember correctly, candles) on the tables. There are beautiful murals painted on the walls. It's absolutely romantic. And! Solid variety of options, not too expensive, and very local to me. I tried this spot for the first time after craving some Indian food. I've seen this spot when driving in Catonsville and have been meaning to test it out. I ordered some veggie samosas and saag paneer (spinach sauce with cheese chunks). The samosas were very good, a little spicy, and came with a green and brown sauce. The saag paneer wasn't my favorite, it was very concentrated and the spinach flavor was incredibly overwhelming. It was bitter and I had to stop eating it. When I ate the second portion, I added some heavy cream to lighten up the flavor and it was a little bit better, but I've had better saag paneer. I would try this spot again, especially since it's so close. read more

The Garlic Naan is to die for. The rice is cooked to perfection and the curry chicken has all the necessary spices. For under $30, I was able to feed two people for about two, three days ! Came here for the Saturday buffet a few times. Small selection but good food. I usually get lentil soup, pakora, saag paneer and shrimp curry with rice. Samosas would be a nice addition to the buffet. You just have to order them separately if you want samosas. read more

This is now my favorite restaurant in Catonsville! My wife and I just tested this restaurant out last month. We aren't super experienced with Indian food, but thought we should check this place out. First, we've visited a few times now and only for to-go orders. Our experiences have been awesome. The staff are super friendly and are willing to answer any questions you have. Prices are also very reasonable for the amount of food and quality of the food that you get. So far, the best thing I've had so far was the Chicken Makhani, also known as Indian Butter Chicken. The sauce is rich and creamy and the chicken was perfectly tender and juicy. The rice was also cooked well. I've enjoyed karai chicken which is likewise flavorful and well-cooked. We also tried the meat samosa which was unbelievable. They apparently have an appetizer chef who makes all the apps by hand and the quality and flavor shocked me. The woman who works often at the front desk also encourage me to try things out of my comfort zone and even said if I didn't like something, they'd swap it. Seriously, this place is great. read more

One of my luv language food is saag paneer, however rarely can you get in small servings except in a lunch buffet, they had adequate vegetarian options to indulge in and for the first time I saw shrimp marsala on the menu (evemthough I don't eat). Indian Delight has a lot going for it: friendly service, a diverse menu, convenient parking, and interesting decor. Pricing is a bit less expensive than average. We will be coming back for those reasons, but we will modify our food order as the entrees we had were just OK. The Harrialy Paneer looked better than it was, as the sauce was thin and ineffectual and the entire dish was bland. We're not talking about a lack of heat, but a lack of seasoning or complex spices. The Matar Paneer was even more bland with the oddly white sauce serving as more texture and less taste. A mushroom dish was "good" but my wife said she would go with something else next time. When I asked her if her food was as bland as mine, she agreed that "bland" was the right word for it. The star of the show was the cheese naan, generously filled with mozzarella. A significant demerit in my eyes (but maybe not yours) are the $3 non-refillable sodas, poured from cans. At the equivalent of $72/case of soda (compared to $13 at Walmart), the markup is steep, and a single can of soda will probably not get many people through a meal. While most other restaurants offer unlimited refills, this policy makes us pause a bit. Finally, the restrooms, while clean, really need to provide paper towels even if a blower is available. As it stands, visitors (including the kitchen staff) will have to grab the doorknob to exit, and we all know how gross the doorknobs must be from the many patrons who probably don't wash their hands. While there are other Indian restaurants in the area that we are more likely to gravitate to, we will be coming back to Indian Delight to give them another try. read more

I have been going to this restaurant for over 10 years with my family and friends. I have seen this place go through many changes and many different owners. I watched them change their interior and fancy it up. Their food has always been good. Food is delicious, I love the buffet, I love going to their buffet. I just wish the prices would be better. Over the years I watched the prices go up but that's the entire economy. And it's so funny to me because I am of south Asian heritage and it's funny to me watching Americans try to eat the food in a fancy way but this food is meant to be eaten with your hands and can get messy so don't be afraid to dig in. read more

Wonderfully delicious food and amazing service! Sit down style, buffet and carryout are all great options but if your doing takeout order ahead because it takes about 30 minutes. Haven't been here in a while, but glad to see they have done some interior renovations that made the restaurant a more inviting space. We came to the as usual lunch buffet offering and it is as good as I last remember. All tasty good options served in silver chafing dishes and refilled hot from the back kitchen area as needed. There is also fresh salad with toppings, soup and their famous spiced hot tea, a real winner as the weather changes. I did note that the back left wall was torn down to make way for an open area that now serves as a take out pickup/order area including a bench for sitting. Nice touch. As always, the staff are pleasant and never leave a water glass unfilled. All in all, a great place to enjoy a nice, leisurely lunch, but I must admit, I need to come for dinner soon. read more

Came with my sister late at night so it wasn't crowded. We were promptly seated, and somehow my sister managed to drink three cups of water before we got our food. The server was very nice about it, and promptly refilled her water. After a while, he decided that it's probably better to just leave the pitcher with us, and we apologized for the inconvenience. Food came out pretty fast, and the waiter explained what each thing is. I liked pretty much everything they gave in the combo, and there was plenty of rice to go with it. All I can say is, spectacular service, and food was very good (or I was hungry). One combo got the both of us quite full. I'd come back just for the service. read more

Indian Delight is very simply the best Indian restaurant in the Baltimore metro area. One of my favorite meals is Malai Kofta. Italian chefs like to quip that "the secret is in the sauce". Similarly, with Indian food, the secret is in the sauce...which is exceptional, especially on the Malai Kofta. The meat samosa appetizers are delicious, as is their naan bread. And the variety of naan breads offered is seemingly limitless! I like the cheese naan, but they also offer an exotic coconut naan. For those desiring a smorgasbord option, a buffet is also served. I had a craving for good Indian curry and some butter chicken. I called in my order, since I live down the street, and they were very polite and helpful. I ask A LOT of questions so he was also patient as he took my order. When I got there I wasn't expecting a restaurant but there I was..walking into a full dining room. It was set up nicely. But anyway, I got my food, went home and tasted it. So delicious!! Truly satisfied my craving and I will DEFINITELY be back for more! Prices were very reasonable and the portions were large and made sense with the prices. I usually order from Indian delight for take out. However tonight by error of door dash I had to go in because there was no one available to pick my order up. There was a lot of confusion around refunds because door dash was holding the money for the food. However, the staff at Indian delight was so friendly, understanding and accommodating.
