Never again. I gave this place one more shot and I was disappointed yet again. The food is not good. Not that flavorful Indian spice that I love. The saag paneer and chicken biryani is ok,but that's about it. The naan taste really doughy. They have changed alot since the last time I've been there. No buffet style anymore. I arrive a 11am when they are supposed to open. The sign on the door was turned to closed so I thought they hadn't opened yet. I called the restaurant at 11:10 am and the young lady said that they were open so I came inside. I had to wait a while because the food wasnt ready. At 11:30am all of the options still wasn't ready so I just ordered what they had available. After the lady fixed my container of food she asked me did I want her to warm it up. ( this put the icing on the cake) the food wasnt even hot and I waited all of this time! The lady was nice and polite and I'm sure it wasnt her fault so I didnt show her any frustration. I just told her that I'll warm it up when I go home. I'm sure they thought that their new rentivations would improve their business but its actually worse. I'll never go back there again.

Remodeled Shaheen is great !!! I like the fast casual aspect and the new menu makes it so much easier for someone not completely comfortable with Pakistani dishes. Had some amazing Haleem and nihari (tendered stewed beef) it was AMAZEBALLS!!! Ended with some delicious homemade sweets .

Ordered from the catering menu chicken biryani with extra chicken & haleem for 10 people. Chicken pieces were mostly bone with very little meat - as if a whole chicken was cut into 20 pieces after the breasts where removed - it was awful as nearly each bite included small bones in your mouth. Also, no bread provided with the haleem - excuse being we only provide bread for single orders ?????? Finally, since the catering menu doesn't include prices (for orders less than for 50 people) what was quoted at the time of order and what they charged at pick differed - with more money charged. They claim the person taking the order made a mistake???? Very, very disappointed with food quality & price change l

Their Biryani was nothing to rave about. We asked for a spicy level and they had upped it but it was still tasteless.

It is certainly the best restaurant in Catonsville, and you won't have to pay $50 for one dish (like you would at say Beaumont). We have like 10 favorite things on the menu--I just tried 2 new dishes last night--and now maybe that number is up to 12. You basically can't have a bad order, the food is absolutely delicious. If you like spicy food and ask for spicy, they will actually make it spicy which is SO nice. (Usually when I ask for spicy and emphasize SPICY anywhere I go, I get a mega mellow spiced dish and it's hugely disappointing). My top orders are chicken xacuti, kerala fish curry, kashmiri naan, mixed spicy pickles, and malai kofta. Oh, and kheer (so good). I love it all. Not only is the food phenomenal, the ambiance and service is top notch. The dining room is absolutely gorgeous and spotless. The front of house staff wears button up shirts and dress pants. There are fresh flowers (and if I remember correctly, candles) on the tables. There are beautiful murals painted on the walls. It's absolutely romantic. And! Cherry on top: it's BYO, so you can bring your own bottle of wine. Absolutely a gem on Frederick Rd.

I've seen this spot when driving in Catonsville and have been meaning to test it out. I ordered some veggie samosas and saag paneer (spinach sauce with cheese chunks). The samosas were very good, a little spicy, and came with a green and brown sauce. The saag paneer wasn't my favorite, it was very concentrated and the spinach flavor was incredibly overwhelming. It was bitter and I had to stop eating it. When I ate the second portion, I added some heavy cream to lighten up the flavor and it was a little bit better, but I've had better saag paneer. I would try this spot again, especially since it's so close.

When I picked up the order and started eating it, it was extremely spicy to the point where I could visibly see all the spice in it. It was completely inedible for me. I called the restaurant politely just to let them know there may have been a mistake because I know for a fact I ordered mild. I even double checked while placing the order because this is something I always order the same way. Instead of trying to help, the guy on the phone kept insisting that I ordered spicy. That made absolutely no sense because why would I intentionally order food I literally cannot eat? I have no tolerance for spice at all. What made it worse was how dismissive and rude the conversation became. He kept saying things like "I heard you correctly" and blamed it on two orders coming in at the same time. Instead of taking accountability for a simple mistake, he kept trying to argue with me and basically imply I was lying about my own order. I even went back to the restaurant to explain the situation in person, and he still kept insisting that I had ordered the biryani spicy. At that point I was so frustrated that I just threw the food away in the trash right in front of them and left because there was clearly no effort being made to resolve the issue. The frustrating part is this is not even the first issue I've had here. Another time they completely gave me the wrong order but I didn't make a big deal about it because mistakes happen. This time was different because of how poorly the situation was handled and how defensive the employee became instead of trying to resolve it professionally. I've been ordering from here for a while, but after this experience and the customer service I received, I definitely will not be returning.

It was for the most part, bland and dry as if it were made from a mix. (Trader Joe?) The cuisine was not worth the price we paid and it was at the high end for gyro sandwiches that are found in other cities. Unfortunately, we discovered, too late, that ownership of the restaurant we first visited at that location had changed hands. So Buyer Beware!

I didn't realize the storefront was inside the Lotte and I had to ask another local business how to find Biryani and Bakers. Once inside the Lotte, it is in the back left corner. Once I brought the food home it was still very hot (even though I had picked it up 45 minutes prior). The butter chicken was INSANELY spicy despite asking for mild, but I will say the chicken pieces themselves were well seasoned. There was a hefty amount of food, it was about 2 large portions of food (3 if you ate smaller portions), which is reasonable for the $25 I paid. It was seasoned and fried to perfection. The fries are in house cut and seasoned well too. The chicken Mishkaki is dish never tried before but reminds you of Nazan Halal's chicken with more of a rich tomato stew flavor with peppers, onions. The outside doesn't suggest much, but there is a decent amount of space inside. I ordered takeout, but there was a huge family that filled several tables. The folks at the counter seemed busy, but they got to me after a minute to get me my food. Food - despite the name, this is not what I would call a barbecue takeout place. It is a Pakistani restaurant that is meat-forward, but not exclusively meat dishes. We went for the Mixed BBQ, which had plenty of meat for at least two hungry people, but my wife and two of our children had plenty for dinner one night and lunch the next day. The kebab was nicely spiced ground meat and it was decent on its own but also nice with a spicy green sauce. The chicken tikka was solid. There were also some heavily spiced ground beef patties. Child #1 is vegetarian and got a Lahori Chana and a Palak Paneer. The Chana was pretty standard, nicely spiced chickpeas. The palak paneer was solid with a nice blend of warm spices, but I wouldn't call it spicy. We also tried out an order of Chicken Tikka Masala. It wasn't as bright or creamy as I've gotten at other Indian or Pakistani places. It was still tasty though. A variety of breads to mop it all up, and it was a solid meal.
