Came here for a Saturday night family dinner. They have lots of open tables. No wait time. We got a couple of mango lassi. My dad kept saying it was so thick, but he seemed to really enjoy it. We got goat curry, chicken tikka masala, butter bone-in chicken and a couple naan. My husband really liked the butter chicken. Everything was very well seasoned. Food came out fresh and fast. It is on a pricier side, but we also got lots of leftover. We will definitely be back to try their lunch buffet! read more

Best Indian around! After trying half a dozen others, finally landed on a spot we'll definitely be returning to often. Food was delicious, service was super friendly, and a great value with hearty portions (we ordered way too much after being used to the smaller shared dishes at places like Pierce's). I was surprised to find it quiet on a rainy Saturday night. Sammy's was booked all night, so was Barret's. So we ended up here; and I'm glad we did as it was so much better. They were doing a brisk takeout business but the dining room was really nice and I'd much rather do that. If I had one suggestion, it would just be the AC was pumping and it was a little chilly. I can only add to all the praise of this premier restaurant. I have eaten great Indian food all over the US, Canada, and India, and cannot think of Mint Leaf without getting a "Nobody Does It Better" earworm. I am pescatarian and wish for a few more fish dishes, but the vegetarian options are consistently delicious and generous. (I favor the paneer selections, but my omnivorous friends assure me that every selection is scrumptious. Excellent service makes the meal a memorable experience,too. My one niggling complaint: I like my food truly hot and spicy and order seasoning accordingly, but ALWAYS end up having to introduce my own peppers into what I am served. Visited here on a Saturday at 1pm. Went for the lunch buffet and I literally tried almost everything. Some dishes were better than the other but overall I enjoyed my plate. Service was great.. the guys/waiters were checking on us and made sure there was water in our glasses at all times. What a tremendous experience. Elegantly lit and space is comfortable. The glass walled kitchen lends itself to a fine New York bistro. The buffet is clean and sleek. Large variety of offerings. Exceptional taste spectrum. Standouts were the Palak Paneer (perfectly spiced), the Malabar Curry Fish (subtle curry with a perfect balance of spice) and Tawa Baingan which is a roasted eggplant with an in-house roasted spice sauce that can NOT be missed!!!! The special hidden gem is the house 'hot sauce' which is savory and flavorful but not 'hot'-fully spicy as it should be. It's a 45min drive for us and one we will repeat again. Tamarind and Mint sauces are made in house as well and great. My wife prefers the thicker tamarind and it has a full pallet flavor. read more

Akhroti Gosht was flagrant and had a smooth consistency. The Lamb Vindaloo was true to it's origins was well balanced in spice. We ordered a "level 4" spice (1-10 range is requested by server). Many restaurants seem to use excessive heat to mask a lack of nuance in spice mixtures, but not here. We selected the Kashmiri Naan for our bread, it was outstanding !! I ordered chicken tikka masala and asked for white meat instead of dark. They still put mostly dark meat in it. I bit into a tendon. I bit into a bone. I decided to bring home leftovers so I could see what I was eating in the bright light of my kitchen and you can see in the photo what I found. More bones. Skin. Fat. I have never had such inexpertly prepared chicken in an Indian restaurant before. For what I paid, this is unacceptable. There are plenty of excellent Indian restaurants in the Baltimore area. Service by Avinash was excellent. He was attentive and kind. He repeated every order back to us to make sure it was clear. The plain naan, garlic naan, vegetable samosas, prawn tikka masala, chicken vindaloo and lamb vindaloo were all amazing and made for plenty of leftovers. You get to choose your spice level here, which I appreciate. Sometimes I'm in the mood for a little bit more spice, if you know what I mean. Let me baaaahbrag on the lamb vindaloo here. The lamb was very tasty, chunky and smooth. Very tender and cooked through. Yummers! This place is not inexpensive (over $140) for three of us for dinner, but you get lots of leftovers so you can justify the cost. Great service, excellent food and nice ambiance. read more

The Mintleaf also operates under the Tiffin Co. through delivery service services, such as Ubereats. I'm not certain if they deliver stale food or what. The packaging came very messy. I ordered two entrées, one was missing Rice and the mint sauce which was special order and cost extra money. I also ordered a drink the mango lassi. It was not included either. I literally received less than half of my order. When I called the restaurant, they're like we were backed up and we forgot to put it in the bag. read more

I love a good Indian buffet, because it gives me the opportunity to try multiple dishes without committing to just one. And Mint Leaf in Cockeysville provides a decent variety of dishes to try. With a good selection of eateries in the shopping center, Mint Leaf fits in perfectly to add a variety of flavor within the restaurant selections. Most Indian lunch buffets tend to operate Monday through Friday, so it was nice to know Mint Leaf also offers their buffet on the weekends for only $20. Mint Leaf provides a great selection of items with a fair number of vegetarian options to choose. I'm not well versed in Indian cuisine, so I wasn't aware of most of the items, however, I decided to try them all and thought everything was delicious. The restaurant has sort of an open kitchen concept which was enclosed behind glass, so you're able to see the dishes being prepared. The service was a little questionable towards the end of our dining experience. The wait staff did keep our water glasses full and our table clear of plates we were no longer using. However, at times our waiter would point to things, and we weren't really sure what he wanted until he actually spoke. All in all, lunch at Mint Leaf was a decent experience and the food was quite tasty. Unfortunately, this trip I didn't take any pictures since it was an opportunity to be present with my lunch companion. But I'll definitely give Mint Leaf another try and let the camera eat first. read more

The Mint Leaf is located at the Hunt Valley Town Center. We were in the area so decided to give it a try. I had dine at its sister restaurant, The Mint Room in Bel Air, about a year ago. We had the Vegetable Samosa for appetizers. It came out hot and crispy. I was so hungry I forgot to snap a photo, lol. For entree, we ordered the Chicken Biryani, Lamb Vindaloon, Akhroti Gosht, and a side of Garlic Nann. The flavors and spices were amazing. I can taste the cardamom in the Akhroti Gosht. Portions were generous. Ended up taking food home. Service was ok. Waiter was a little pushy trying to sell the lobster and lamb shank. read more

A solid 4.5 New to the area so decided to give this place a try. Ordered the indochinese dishes for pick up. 6/10 spice level is a good spice level if you like a kick. The fried rice and noodles were good but the gobi Manchurian ( with gravy) my favorite! The paneer hakka chili sauce ( gravy) was also good and both came with white rice. I have mixed emotions on my takeout order from Mint Leaf. Order was ready quickly, loved that. We got: Palak Chaat for an appetizer. This was 10/10. LOVED it. I don't see it on a lot of menus, so I grab it when I can. Theirs was great. Tikka Masala - Chicken. Standard, a bit pricier than most places and the portion size was average. Chicken Tikka Salad. Honestly, pretty bad. No "mixed greens" in site. Just some iceberg, cucumbers, large chunks of tomato, carrot slices. The veg variety definitely varied from the description. It was really just a side salad with some chicken on top. The dressing was flavorless and the most of the pieces of chicken were inedible. Plain Naan. Probably the BEST naan I have ever had. OMG. So good!!! I think I would try this place again if I was in the area. I would just change up my order about and try things others rave about. read more

Walking in the ambiance is colorful and inviting. The service was quick and the wait time was minimal. The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the chicken korma which was priced at $20 and my wife ordered the Aloo Gobi at $16. The prices were a tad higher than I expected but the quality of food you get is absolutely worth it. My only complaint is being an American I am so used to big size portions when these came out it was a lot smaller than I am used too. The garlic naan was by far the best I've ever had. If you love Indian food, this spot is for you! This place offers a lunch buffet like no other in the area! They have over 10 items on their menu including a couple of dessert options. The price is affordable, although tbh, I cannot recall exactly what we paid. The service is also excellent, they check in on you frequently despite you serving yourself and fill up your water. The place got very packed within 20 minutes of us sitting down and we went around 12:30-1 PM. The restaurant is located in a shopping center and the way that the area is set up, it is practically a one way street with angled parking. Be prepared to get stuck for a few mins if you are behind someone who is waiting for an empty spot. For the lunch buffet, it is presented at the back of the restaurant in a large L shape station. All the food is kept hot inside several stainless steel chaffing buffet trays which do the job great. Service: 5/5. From start to finish, the staff at The Mint Leaf we're very accommodating during lunch. We arrived around 12:30pm on a Friday, peak buffet time. We were seated immediately by the owner and encouraged to head to the buffet as he got our drinks together. Several of the buffet items were hit hard right before we arrived, leaving empty trays of popular items such as naan, tikka marsala and lamb curry. However, the staff was already on it and had everything refilled in a matter of minutes which was impressive. Food: 5/5. Some off the best buffet Indian food in the greater Baltimore area. Every dish we sampled was hot, fresh and full of flavor. The selection is also very impressive, as the buffet included over a dozen items to try. Some of the highlights included the saag paneer, lamb curry, fresh buttered naans and the Tikka marsala. They also had some refreshing dessert options including hot chai tea and rice pudding. This has been my daughter's and my favorite Indian restaurant, and we've visited about once a month over the last few years. She loves their ice-cold water, I love that they bring new dishes and silverware after the appetizer and we both adore the paneer tikka masala. The food and service have always been exceptional. Unfortunately, tonight's experience was so disappointing that we're questioning if we'll return. We arrived at 7:30 pm and were seated next to the only other table in the restaurant who finished up shortly after we sat down. Our usual paneer tikka masala arrived full of peppers and onions--ingredients not listed on the menu and never included in previous orders--and with only about six pieces of paneer. The sauce was a deeper red than usual, with an overpowering tomato flavor and did not taste like tikka masala. I ordered "as mild as possible" for my daughter and a 3-4 spice level for myself, as I always do, but both dishes came out extremely mild and identical in spice level. We both ended up eating mostly rice because the tikka masala just wasn't enjoyable. Throughout the entire meal, nobody checked on us--not even to refill my daughter's water, which was completely empty. When a different person than our original server finally came over, he asked how everything was. I mentioned it wasn't as good as we were used to, and he just nodded, smiled and said something like, "ok, good," which made me feel like he hadn't actually listened or cared about my honest response to his question. I then asked for to go boxes (because I know my teenage boys will eat anything I give them!) which he quickly brought over. After that, we sat with dirty dishes at our table for at least five minutes, trying to catch the attention of staff who were chatting at the counter and ignoring us. Coats on and my daughter standing up and ready to go, we finally managed to get someone's attention - they came over and handed me the handheld POS machine without a word. After years of fantastic experiences, tonight was truly disappointing. I will mention that the gentleman who brings the water, lassi, and warm hand towels who has worked here for as long as I can remember was amazing as always. read more

We were excited to try this restaurant as it was new to us. We are always on the lookout for BYOB restaurants to try. The Mint Leaf in Hunt Valley has a lovely décor. The dining room area is very large with tables and booths. I had asked when I made the reservation for a quiet table, since my husband has some hearing issues. We were greeted and taken to a corner booth which was very comfortable. Unfortunately, it was not that quiet because the restaurant was playing the music too loud. We did ask Lateef, our server, if they could please turn down the music and they did for awhile then it came back louder for a brief period (someone else must have complained because they thankfully turned it off). We then could have a nice conversation with our guests. Lateef bought us wine glasses as we requested. The menu is extensive with many dishes that we had never heard of or knew about. Their prices are somewhat higher than other Indian restaurants in the area. I asked Lateef if the Punjabi Pindi Chole, which was described as whole chickpeas with aromatic spices in a tangy masala sauce, was very spicy. He told me it was a mild spice. He said that all of their dishes could be prepared with mild sauces. So, I ordered the dish. It came with basmati rice. However, it was too spicy for me to eat. Lateef did bring over some yogurt to add to the dish, but it still was too spicy for me. I was so impressed when my husband ordered something new to him. He thoroughly enjoyed the Akhroti Gosht (tender lamb slow cooked with onions, toasted walnuts, black cardamom, and mace) served also with basmati rice. Our friends said their dishes were fabulous. They had the Chicken Tikka Masala - a delightful dish simmered in onion and creamy tomato sauce, and the Tandoori Chicken, which was chicken marinated in yogurt and freshly ground spices, skewered and grilled in the tandoor. We are planning on returning to give the restaurant another try. This time, I will be more careful on what I order since I do not like spicy food. They do offer a buffet lunch during the week for $15.00 and on the weekend for $20.00. That is a really good way to taste several different dishes to learn what you do like or not. Today we tried their lunchtime buffet. We arrived 45mins before they close. Which gives us 1/2hr to get food before they shut down the buffet. Even with only a 1/2hr left the food looked fairly fresh. The rice was dried out and once (I assume) the manager saw the condition of it, he made a fresh batch and delivered it to our table. We were the only people in the restaurant at this time. I appreciated the attention to detail and the corrective action. That proves someone is dedicated to your satisfaction, serving only fresh quality food. The selection was good and the food was well spiced. Looking forward to returning! read more

AMAZING INDIAN FOOD AND INTERESTING BYOB!! We the first thing that amazed me about this Indian joint is its BYOB policy. So off we go to the liquor store next door to grab some beers that pairs well with spicy indian cuisine, mostly hazy and IPA. They keep the beers in refrigerator for you and bring out as requested! We were party of 8. The server / owner was very humble and took our order immediately. The food took some time to come out but we had beers to occupy ourselves. We ordered chilli fish, Paneer tikka, samosa, Chicken tikka for appetizers and everything was beyond delicious. For main course we ordered Malai kofta, Daal Tadka, Punjabi goat curry and chicken vindaloo with bread basket and it was absolutely finger licking! The Mint Leaf comes highly recommended from many people in the community, so I was excited to check it out! We ordered some takeout on a Friday night. We ordered chicken tikka masala, lamb vindaloo, samosas, mixed pickles, and naan. I loved the samosas and the main dishes. The rice was perfect! The mixed pickles as a side were not my thing... I wouldn't get them again. I was also a little disappointed at the amount of naan you get per order. I was expecting an order and not just one piece for the price! But, the food was very good and staff was very nice. I will go back and try some different dishes! This was my second visit to this location - the first time I enjoyed the lunch buffet. If you haven't tried their lunch buffet, I would strongly encourage you to make the effort. I ordered the chicken tikka masala (medium spice), and it was awesome! Lots of flavor, well balanced and very satisfying with just enough heat. My friend ordered Akhroti Gosht (lamb) and it was amazing! The garlic naan was the perfect addition to both dishes. Lastly, the service was top notch. I do not remember the name of our server, but he was very pleasant, attentive and even went out of his way to have my friends dish re-made because it was a bit too spicy for her taste (sent the spicier dish home with me). We had a party of 7. Most of us got lunch buffet. One person ordered from the menu. Food was decent. All prepared well enough. Naan was a bit dry. Service was subpar. Slow. One server was friendly but the other had a scowl on her face every time we interacted. Our check originally showed 7 buffet charges plus the one meal from the menu. When I mentioned it, I got smirks but they did correct it. But, the check included a mandatory 20% large party gratuity. Fresh plates for entrées, but they make you keep your dirty silverware. We strongly believe that restaurants serving ethnic food and decorated to conjure up the country -- in this case India -- should play music from that country.
