    Lamb Saag

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I was amazed at the beautiful and serene atmosphere- especially walking in off the parking lot of a strip mall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This spot is white-table cloth, well -trained staff, pleasant music and decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu is interesting, too. Lots of seafood dishes. My husband's Goan Salmon was exquisite- a subtle sauce, cooked to perfection. The waiter asks for your preferred heat level. I asked for my Lamb Saag to be mild, but it was too spicy for me. The waiter immediately took it and they prepared another dish to my liking. A generous gesture, made by people who care about customers. We'll definitely go back and try the buffet. *aside: a woman waiting for take-out asked for a glass of water. She was brought that - then a complimentary Mango Lassi while she waited. Really charming place.

Great Fish Curry , Naan and Vegetable Momos today from Indian Ocean in Cockeysville , Md.I was tempted to stay for the buffet ( which looked and smelled wonderful ) but I had things to do at home . Service was superb as always .

Sooooooo good!!!! The food is exceptional in quality and taste. We ordered the chaat, tikka masala fries, samosas, matar paneer, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan. Every dish was 10/10. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is also really nice - it is very clean, spacious, and has white/table clothes and beautiful plants and sea-decor including a huge screen playing serene seascapes and fish.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are fewer places these days that have a nice atmosphere inside that really makes you feel like you are dining and not just getting fast food, so I appreciated that.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Check out the Chicken 65 version and the Chicken Majestic appetizer in particular. They hit the spot! Is it a coincidence that my daughter said her favorite food is biryani after eating here? Our group of six went to Hyderabad Stories in Cockeysville planning to dive into their lunch buffet, only to find out they no longer offer it. Since we were already there and hungry, we decided to stick around and order from the regular menu and honestly, it worked out just fine. The space used to be San Sushi before the owner retired, and the interior layout is pretty much the same. It is simple and perfectly serviceable for small to medium groups. When we visited, we were actually the only occupied table, which made for a quiet and relaxed lunch. Since there was no official buffet, we decided to make our own by ordering a half dozen dishes to share. We went with a variety of curries, multiple biryanis, butter chicken, samosas, and plenty of naan for the table. Everything came out at a great pace and the service was very friendly and efficient throughout. The curries were the highlight for me. Some were dialed up with extra heat for the spice lovers at the table, while others were milder, but all of them were packed with flavor and tasted fresh. The biryanis were also excellent, with generous portions of both lamb and chicken. No skimping on the protein here. Pricing was reasonable, and when we split the bill it came out to about what each of us would typically spend at an Indian lunch buffet anyway. Overall, even without the buffet option, Hyderabad Stories is a great Indian food choice in the area and definitely worth checking out if you are craving flavorful curries and solid biryani.

The name "Sangam," which means "meeting and getting along," evokes the spirit of mutual trust inspired by a classic Indian film of the same name. This romantic notion sets the stage for a delightful culinary experience. Upon entering, you might not find opulence, but the restaurant exudes a cool, neat vibe. The ambiance is unpretentious, with two diligent South Indian girls serving food with a warm smile, creating a welcoming environment. The menu is a treasure trove of South Indian dishes, many of which may seem unfamiliar, especially for those from a Punjabi or Pakistani background. Though the choices can be overwhelming, the restaurant is particularly renowned for its Masala Dosa--a must-try for any visitor. Here are some of our favorite selections: Sukha Goshat: A flavorful dish reminiscent of bhuna meat, prepared with an array of spices, served alongside naan or paratha--perfect for a satisfying meal. Biryani: Their biryanis are noteworthy, bursting with rich flavors that stand out. Appetizers: We often start with Chicken 65 or Fish Chilli. The tangy, spicy Chicken 65 has a unique flavor that distinguishes it from typical offerings at Indian restaurants. If you ever plan to visit Sangam, I'd love to join you for this delightful culinary adventure!

Tandoori Shrimp: jumbo shrimps marinated with yogurt, ginger, garlic & Indian spice $18.99 --- delicious... we received two mystery sauces: one an herbaceous slightly spicy green, the other a dark purple with a flavor that reminded me of plums or raisins. Unfortunately, the food missed the mark in a few important ways. Despite selecting the lowest spice level, some dishes were almost impossible to eat because they were simply too spicy. The curry was especially disappointing. It was not only far too spicy for the lowest spice level, but also quite salty, which made it difficult to actually enjoy. What a shame when you are looking forward to a dish and the spice level overwhelms everything else. The Chicken 65 was just okay and, again, much too spicy for the lowest setting. The batter also completely fell off the chicken, which made the dish feel rather pointless. The lamb had the same issue with the spice level. The butter chicken, however, was good. It was actually the first dish where it felt like the chef paid attention to the spice level we selected. We also tried the chicken masala pizza. The pizza itself was decent, but the chicken on top was disappointing. It was very rubbery and tasted almost like chicken from a previous day that had been reused on the pizza as an afterthought. Overall, there is definitely potential here, and some of the food was good. But the experience could have been much better simply by respecting the requested spice level and paying more attention to the quality and preparation of the chicken. When a customer selects the lowest spice level, the food shouldn't be so spicy that they can't enjoy it.

For deeper explanation: The price was decent on the takeout menu that we got a few days prior, so we decided to give it a try. But when we called before driving over, we were misled about the selection, both regarding dietary restrictions and selection in general. And when we arrived, we were told the coupons were not valid not the complimentary drink, because those were old menus. But it was same flyer one of the staff gave me a couple days before and that they had at the front of the restaurant which I grabbed to double check pricing and deals... the fine print said was 2022, which I missed because why would I question that anyway if it was from the restaurant that same day. The food was mediocre... save for the samosas. The bathrooms were not great either, and in need of repairs. And when we went to pay it turned out the price per person was much higher than their flyer stated. There were no signs and no mention of the actual price, even with me carrying the flyer from their front area in with me. The price per person was similar to the Indian lunch buffets that I go to closer to my home, but those places have a much higher selection. The selection at India Palace was very small, which for the expected price was not great, but far worse for what the cost actually was (again, the flyers they hand out are the wrong price!). From start to finish, I feel it ended up being a waste of time and money, and left a very bad impression all around.
