Everything was great, from the food to the service. We sat on the patio, what a beautiful place for a date night.

I had dinner with a friend at Peerce's last week, and I left a little underwhelmed sadly. My expectations were high, because I'd heard great things about Peerce's - I've seen it on Baltimore Magazine's Best Restaurants in Baltimore list several times. But it didn't live up to those high expectations. The restaurant is stunning. Before the two brothers behind Ananda and the Ambassador Dining Room opened this Indian restaurant in the space in 2019, various restaurants and businesses had been in the space for more than 80 years. The team at Peerce's has done an amazing job renovating the space and making it truly stunning. There's dark wood paneling, mural or wallpapered walls, stained glass, fireplaces, and a gorgeous patio (although too cold on the evening we visited in January to enjoy). The service was also great - very friendly and helpful. The menu is varied. They serve North Indian/Punjabi dishes, with lots of seafood specialties. We ordered a few things to share: Fish curry (wild-caught black cod in spicy coconut curry sauce), Malai Kofta (vegetable croquettes and spiced cream sauce), Palak Paneer (organic creamed spinach and homemade paneer), Bhindi Pyaaz (okra, onions, and traditional spices), and classic naan. I thought the food was in general. The okra, palak paneer, and naan were also classic but didn't stand out as anything terribly special. The fish curry was fine as well but I found the portion size very small for the price ($37). The malai kofta is where they really lost me. I've had malai kofta lots of times (I was a vegetarian/vegan for around 10 years, and it was one of my favorite dishes to order during those years - and I still love it today as a very failed vegetarian), and this version really confused me. The menu led me to expect the traditional creamy sauce, but Peerce's version looked and tasted like tomato paste. It was overly sweet and tasted quite concentrated, underseasoned, and bland. It was a bright red and fell very flat. I wouldn't say that any of the dishes blew me away, but the malai kofta was a disappointment. We did order a couple of glasses of wine (they offer a few Indian wines which we were keen to try and enjoyed), and the service and ambiance were topnotch. Unfortunately - for me - the food was just underwhelming. Since it's a bit of a hike for those of us that live in Baltimore City, I don't expect to make the trip to eat at Peerce's again any time soon sadly. read more

Arriving at Peerce's brings an immediate sense of calm and beauty. From the moment we stepped inside, we were warmly welcomed and seated. The manager, David, greeted our party of four and acknowledged our dual wedding anniversaries as the occasion for our visit. Nice touch! He also checked on us periodically throughout the evening. The restaurant is lovely inside, tastefully decorated and comfortable. A cozy fireplace burned in the dining room and there was lively conversation throughout, but tables were adequately spaced so that we could talk amongst ourselves with difficulty hearing each other. Our server was prompt, arriving just as we were being seated, offering water for the table and taking drink orders. On to the food. Wow! Talk about a party in your mouth! It was our first time here, and we will be back! For starters, we shared a few small plates; the Crab Khumbi, which had the perfect balance betwen delicate and flavorful, and the Pulled Pork over Pumpkin Polenta. The pork dish had a nice spicy kick and a rich, but tangy flavor, complimented by the sweetness of the pumpkin polenta - highly recommend. My husband ordered the Cauliflower, Coconut and Crab soup, which he proclaimed to be outstanding. Rich but not heavy, and bursting with notes of spice, cilantro and cool cucumber; he said he would definitely order again. The small plates portions are enough for four people to have a generous bite or two. For our entrees, our friends ordered the Shrimp Balchao and Fish Curry, and they both raved about the explosive flavor. My husband also ordered the Fish Curry, while I had Butter Chicken. Oh my gosh, we all chowed down on this deliciousness, taking a moment to dunk our warm, toasted Rosemary & Sea Salt Naan with every other bite. The wine list is extensive and cocktails were expertly crafted and tasty. We didn't have room for dessert, but did view the menu and it looked very appetizing. I cannot wait to return to this gorgeous restaurant, and perhaps even dine outside among the lovely gardens and decor. There are heat lamps for cooler weather. The bar was also warm and cozy, with large TVs visible for watching sporting events, but not so garrish that it had a sports bar feel. Celebrating an early Valentine's Day's dinner and Peerce's was a great choice. Whenever a dining moves you from laughter to tears is truly a good evening. To start our evening the host knew my name and reservation and we were seated at a quaint table for two. The restaurant was spacious and very well decorated with ornate furniture. The restaurant was clean and inviting with super comfortable chairs with throw cushions. Lighting was dim and posed a challenge to navigate the menu. Our waiter arrived and simply smiled and as we awaited an introductory welcome to Peerce's the silence was awkward despite his innocence. After he gathered our drink order it dawned on us that the young man maybe new to the server world. After we blatantly told him we were clueless on Indian cuisine he loosed up and proceeded to help with recommending his favorite menu selections. We started with a small plate of a muddled eggplant and tomato called, Bengan Khas that was awesome with garlic Naan bread. For dinner we had the crab Malabar & Fish Curry. My wife's Malabar was full of crab and tomato which she really enjoyed. The rice was not Uncle Ben's and most impressive with its taste. I had the curry or should I say the curry had me in tears. Hot & Spicy! Fortunately our waiter brought me some yogurt to cut the fire. Despite the heat, I enjoyed my meal and my fish was delicious. The dish should be offered with a dollop of that yogurt. All men aren't created equal . We split the Bread Pudding for desert and my coffee was of another quality. The pudding was mediocre. Excellent meal, great service and a nice restaurant that is both comfortable and is a nice setting. David, one of the manager's, was super pleasant and checked on us at our table a couple of times to make sure all was good. Our servers were Nevea and Rio and they were outstanding and took care of all of our needs. The garlic naan, gobinda, and the shrimp balchao were all excellent. Our servers recommended several dishes, this one included, and it was excellent. My friend got the duck, also highly recommended and she loved it. We ended our meal with rice pudding and it was delicious. Something about ordering rice pudding at an Indian restaurant makes it so delicious and light. Though the Challah bread pudding for dessert sounded amazing, but it sounded like a heavier dessert and I was so full. This was my first time to Peerce's, but most certainly not my last. I look forward to coming back and trying another highly recommended dish. I can't recommend this restaurant enough and I highly recommend a visit here. read more

I am shocked that this doesn't have close to a perfect rating. We have been countless times and always immediately want to go back. The Shrimp Balchao is one of the most perfect entrees I have ever tasted. Other notables are the Gobinda, crab kochi, duck, and both the crab and lobster entrees. I have never had anything that disappointed me in the least. ​I have to order the shrimp balchao every time because it is that good. always a great experience at peerce's! hugeeee restaurant with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. inside there are maybe 10 real fireplaces all spread out which give a cozy, homey vibe. it is decorated very nicely and i love the plush chairs. despite the size, def make a reservation! we had wonderful, attentive, and quick service. everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. fresh, flavorful, and tasty. not super heavy either (depending what you get) like some indian restaurants. the naan bread and crispy spinach are a must. i recommend the reshmi kabob if you want something flavorful yet light. great variety of vegetarian options too -- the lentils are superb! a bit pricey for the portion size but not outrageous. will def be coming back! read more

From the outside Peerce's may look like a typical restaurant, but stepping inside it is an absolute masterpiece of architecture and design. Each room is beautifully decorated with unique character and charm. The fireplaces in every room adds an extra layer of coziness which is nice in the winter months. The food was great. The duck was perfectly crispy, the coconut rice was bursting with flavor, and the lamb chops were seasoned and cooked well. Their fresh naan was a standout. Service was another highlight with attentive staff ensuring everything arrived hot and in a timely manner. Peerce's truly delivers on both ambiance and culinary excellence. I can't wait to return! We enjoyed dinner at Peerce's tonight. What an incredible experience. From being greeted by David, the manager and served by Neepa, the evening was delightful. We've had friends and family recommend Peerce's to us for too long, and my husband and I finally made it here on a Saturday night. We walked in without a reservation around 5:15pm and the bar was packed, but the dining room was still quiet. The entire space - both inside and outside - is beyond charming! We started with a meat samosa and the gobinda, which were both fantastic and came out of the kitchen quickly. For our main dishes, we had chicken jalfrezi and lamb bhuna, with a side of corn pudding and the rosemary sea salt naan with honey...it was a perfect order and I'll be dreaming about the corn pudding! Both entrees came with rice and creamed spinach, which were great touches. The whole staff were wonderful and very attentive throughout our dinner. By the time we left, the dining room was very busy. No wonder - Peerce's is a new favorite of ours! read more

Made it back to Peerce's and I feel the same way as last time. The food was quite good but the cocktails were really not great. And the prices seem to have gone up while the quantity has gone down. For example, an order of samosas costs $8, but that's just ONE samosa. Just one. The main courses are $35-45 and not all that big. The setting is beautiful and the folks there are helpful and kind if not all that warm, but I had to go down to 3 stars given the poor quality drinks and the significantly over priced food. If you choose to eat here definitely get the shrimp balchao, it was stellar. The gobinda appetizer as well and the samosas are great. The duck was very good, the chicken tikka masala as well. The garlic Naan is very garlicky but I like that. The lemon souffle was quite good. The molten chocolate cake was good but the molten part wasn't molten. read more

My first visit to Peerce's. Rockstar loves the place and wanted to introduce me to some unique Indian cooking. The first impression is the beautiful interior and décor. We ordered a couple of drinks and started with the Crab Kochi and Gobinda. Both were excellent choices especially the Gobinda (fried Cauliflower with chile sauce). For entrees we ordered the Shrimp Balchao and Garam Masala Goat. I saw previous reviews that mentioned small portions. We could not finish ours and took them home. The portions were perfect! Goat is a very difficult dish to prepare because the goat needs a very long cooking process for tenderization. The Chef did it well and the sauce was layered nicely, meaning onions, scallions, fried spinach was added at the end to offer perfect texture and keep the ingredients from being over cooked. We finished this delightful meal with apple cobbler and cardamom ice cream. The service was very good and the waiter was helpful with our questions about the ingredients and the heat level (spice) of the entrees. Good price/value relationship. Awesome ambiance. read more

I have been dying to give Peerce's a try and finally got the chance this past weekend. Peerce's is located in a sprawling building across from Loch Raven reservoir. If you've ever driven through this area, odds are you've passed it and never even realized it. Apparently it used to be a hunting lodge and offered American fare but 2 years ago, the former owners of Ambassador Dining Room took over and completely gutted the place. The inside is absolutely stunning and the patio is gorgeous. They can fit 200 people in their outdoor dining section alone so you can imagine the inside is massive! The service was impeccable with our waiter, William, helping us out all night long with suggestions and nuggets of knowledge about the owners and the establishment. Being that it was my first time there, I convinced my date to let us order a bunch of small plates and share it family style. I am so glad I got my way because each small plate was better than the last! We ordered... 1. The Kerala cakes (crab meat) 2. The meat samosa 3. The chaat samosa 4. The vegetable cuddy 5. The gobinda (cauliflower) 6. The naan Everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The crab meat was particularly fresh and reminded me a lot of ceviche. The meat samosa was perfectly delicate on the outside and rich and hearty on the inside. The chaat samosa was like a deconstructed samosa and was filling and spicy. As great as all those dishes were, the stars of the show were definitely the vegetable cuddy and the gobinda. The vegetable cuddy featured spinach and onion fritters in a delicious, creamy sauce. SOOO GOOD! The gobinda featured perfectly crispy cauliflower florets that were dressed in a spicy yet sweet sauce. I will 1000% be back to try more from the seasonally rotating menu and I will certainly grab a seat on their gorgeous patio next time. We had another very nice meal at pierces today, a beautiful, setting, and interesting food. We had an excellent appetizer, crispy di pride, cauliflower with a sweet and sour and spicy sauce. Excellent! We also had baingan bharta , which was interesting and delicious, with slices of ginger. We also had chicken jalfreezi which was too bland. Finally we had an excellent and interesting but non-traditional Dahl makhni. The roti, and the garlic naan were very very good. Where do I start? Friends have raved about the current incarnation of Peerce's for a good while. Over the decades through the Peerce and current ownership, this has been a truly special establishment with several great memories. I've been to wedding receptions and a business dinner or two. I had my wedding rehearsal dinner there thirty years ago this week. We also had some family celebration's including my daughters graduation dinner there a few years ago. The prior owner hosted a wake there in 2012 after the funeral of a friend's son-in-law who was also a restauranteur and mentor to other owner operators. Times and tastes have changed. Our greatest strength as a nation is our diversity (e pluribus unum) which has brought so much to us in terms of cuisine. June 21 would have been the thirtieth wedding anniversary for my beloved bride and I, but cancer took her away from us a few months ago. We wanted to visit Peerce's together but sadly didn't get the chance. I thought it would be good for our adult kids and I to observe and celebrate our anniversary and her memory at Peerce's. And we did just that. A perfect evening just like our wedding day, Fathers Day 1992. We agreed to dine on the patio. My daughter and I ordered adult beverages while we perused the menu. Our server was very pleasant, professional and efficient. We managed to get a chuckle from a young lady as she was refilling our water as my kids and I discussed our cats. The menu has traditional Indian favorites sourced from as many local sources, farm to table, as possible. My son and I ordered Meat Samosa's. Respectively, our entrées consisted of Chicken Cheera and Chicken Tikka Masala. My daughter ordered Chicken Vindaloo, which is compatible with her gluten, dairy and egg free diet. Peerce's website harkens their fare as "elevated Indian Cuisine." It really is. The Samosa's were the best I ever had. Flaky Phyllo dough wrapped with a mix of lamb, squash, peas, chick peas, spinach and pumpkin seeds. Wonderful. Our entrees were outstanding! Everything I expected and more. The chicken in all three dishes seemed to be slow cooked. Each of us savored our meals. That means, in terms of my family, eating slowly. Everything was perfect! While my daughter passed on dessert, my son ordered Challah Bread Pudding and yours truly took on the rice pudding. I sampled the former and it was great. The cardamom crème fraiche made it special. And the rice pudding is at the same level I've experienced from my Greek family and their friends. Peerce's has lived up to my expectations and then some. For me, it will remain a destination for special occasions and I know some who visit regularly. Lest I forget, it was good so see several on the Peerce's team who came over after the prior incarnation of a destination in Sparks shuttered during the pandemic. I know their level of professionalism and excellence continues at Peerce's. Nothing more I can say except GO and enjoy. Your palette will be amazed. read more

Fiancé and I came here tonight as a last dining out hurrah before winter. We've still been relatively on the cautious side and prefer to dine outdoors. Now that the weather is getting colder, that may not happen as much! We made a reservation for right at 5 PM when they opened. We requested an outdoor table-- we were seated out back which was nice and secluded but also felt a little off the beaten path from the nice area in the front. We ordered a meat samosa, Chilean sea bass, and lamb tandoori. Really the bulk of why I'm giving them 3 stars is because we ordered our lamb medium rare and we got it well done (see pic). It'd be one thing If it was slightly overdone but it way WAY overdone what we asked for. I didn't want to be the person complaining so we ate it... It actually had good flavor but then I kept thinking of how much better it would have been if it had been cooked as we ordered! However, the Chilean sea bass was really good. We ordered goat cheese cilantro naan and I didn't pick up too many hints of goat cheese. This restaurant is close to my house and I love the ambiance. I'd be willing to give them another try! The vibes here are so fun and elegant! The food was plated perfectly and tasted great. The service was 10/10! I think that some of the Indian flavors were a bit muted as compared to other restaurants, but still everything tasted awesome. If you love Indian food, you'll love this place! It is a fine dining restaurant, but the food tastes like it was homemade. Everything is fresh, cooked perfectly, and seasoned to perfection. My lamb was fork tender, no knife needed. The portions are generous, which was a pleasant surprise for a fine dining restaurant. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. Probably one of the nicest I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot. The night we went, it was raining, so I can only imagine how beautiful the outdoor area is when the weather is nice. The prices were actually very fair given that it is a fine dining restaurant. You will get your money's worth. My family and I went here for the first time the other night and this is now high on my list of my favorite restaurants EVER. read more

After dining at Peerce's for the first time this past weekend, I was quite surprised to find that it didn't have better reviews here. For what it's worth, I absolutely loved it. I eat Indian food ridiculously often, and this was some of the best I have had in ages. It's of course unfair to compare something at a fine-dining price point to my local Indian take-out place, but I would say that the meal at Peerce's was on par with my favorite high-end Indian restaurants in NYC. We had vegetable samosas, avocado and corn salad, bengan khas, and some other seasonal appetizers. All were fresh and fantastic. (I could easily see coming here and just making a meal out of a lot of the small plates.) For entree I got the navrattan curry, which is vegetarian, and it was lovely. Other members of our party had meat and fish dishes, and it was clear that the quality of the proteins also is very high. We also loved the included sides- spinach and lentils. I had a taste of the amazing cardamom ice cream at the end, and though I was too full to really enjoy it, I will save more room next time. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the space itself. The restaurant is seemingly gigantic, but divided into a bunch of small, cozy rooms. It has a really unique English-country-estate-meets-India vibe. (Colonialist chic? Oof--hahaha.) Fireplaces, wood paneling, stained glass windows, and elephants abound, and It's obvious that a lot of care was put into the furnishings and decor. Overall, a perfect place for a special-occasion meal, and I hope to have an excuse to come back soon. read more

This was my first time at the "new" Peerce's (since it was Peerce's Plantation). It most definitely won't be my last. The outdoor seating area is delightful and relaxing. The flowers, greenery and fountains are beautifully done. It's classy and relaxing at the same time. The service is impeccable. I feel terrible that I forgot our server's name, but he was excellent. He never made us wait for anything, yet he didn't hover. My friend ordered the small plate of crispy spinach as an appetizer. She loved it but it wasn't my favorite. I'm not a fried food person (and that's how the spinach gets crispy!). It was nicely plated though and a very large portion. My friend ordered the salmon (I think Fish Tikka was the name on the menu). It was a beautiful plate. She thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered the Navrattan Curry. OMG. The complexity of the flavors was incredible. It's a heavy dish because of the cream base and yet this was so light, I almost ate all of the generous portion. The vegetables were fresh and perfectly cooked. The sauce and spices were incredible. As this was a birthday dinner, Keir, the owner surprised us with a flourless chocolate torte with cardamom ice cream (sorry no photo of this). Not only was it an extremely kind gesture, it's probably one of the best desserts I've ever had. There was subtle mint in the chocolate and nuanced cardamom in the deliciously creamy ice cream. Yum! I thought that the prices were reasonable and the food quality was off the charts. This is the best restaurant meal I've had in a really long time. I will be back! read more

I had heard that the cuisine had changed to Indian, which left me intrigued. It is still a beautiful restaurant with an updated patio that is gorgeous. And, the cuisine is Indian. I enjoyed the lamb meat samosa and corn pudding, along with some garlic naan. I stuck with small plates since it's pretty expensive, but I got full with the behemoth size naan! They made a delicious Amaretto Sour, but the one cocktail cost more than each of my appetizer dishes. Our bill was almost $150 just for a few small plates and three drinks. I think this restaurant would be nice for a special event or celebratory date night, but for tasty authentic Indian food I will stick with my favorite place in Cockeysville. Peerce's has a beautiful inside bar that I might try out in the future. Worth the drive into county if you're looking for a gorgeous restaurant with excellent service. read more

First experience at an Indian restaurant so I wasnt sure what to expect. I was maybe a bit apprehensive thinking it would be very spicy, which I am not into. Read some mixed reviews but it was highly suggested by some trusted sources. From the onset it was great. I enjoyed the look and feel of the place. Our crab portobello appetizer was very good with a sauce that we couldnt get enough of, admittedly a little spicy. Our waiter was very helpful suggesting dishes he loved which we did order. Both entrees were top shelf (goat, and beef tenderloin). Dessert and drinks were great. Highly recommend, cant wait to return when its warmer so we can take advantage of the patio. read more

I'll give this 5 stars for the food, ambience, and ease of reservation. 2 stars for service. Nothing was egregious on the service side but we got the feeling that we were not as important as the other guests. I'll elaborate, our waiter was very...direct with us. He wasn't rude or anything but, if the point of a waiter is to make the restaurant's guests feel welcome and "part of the family", he failed miserably. My wife and I are in our late 30s and do pretty well for ourselves. We noticed that the other clientele there skewed a bit older and, judging by the abundance of hugs and "how ya doins", it seemed to be a hangout for usual customers. My wife and I have visited once before but never inside. Again, we felt as thought the "regulars" received a warmer type of service. The cherry on top came when we presented our waiter with a $100 AMEX gift card and you would've thought we brought out food stamps. He immediately scoffed and said that in "30 years of service, those never work on the POS system". Welp, buddy, I've never been a career waiter but I've been dining out for, only, 20 years and I've never had an issue with anyone gift card. Also where are the creative solutions? Couldn't I have bought a gift card to the restaurant with my AMEX gift card on the spot and then immediately appmoed it to my bill? Did this waiter with "30 years experience" not know this?
