They have alot to learn! If I could give them a "0" I would. Nothing was done right! Last Friday the 15th of June, my Husband and I met another couple there for dinner. Generally they have a prime rib special on this Friday night but we have not been satisfied with the quality of the meat and decided to order something different. Sitting down there were only two other couples inside and two parties outside. The waitress came to the table and asked what we wanted to drink. Both men wanted a Pendleton and coke mixed and my friend wanted a pendleton, neat with a Diet back. First, they did not have Pendleton. No big deal they asked for something else and bartender said, " How about Makers Mark? Both men said NO, and asked for two other brands. She disregarded what my husband asked for and went only with what our friend asked for. She could not reach it on the shelf & so our friend had to walked behind the bar to get it down himself. After the drinks came to the table we had 5 drinks as she made had not listened and made 4 all the same. Not at all what anyone had ordered except one in our party. The waitress took our order and we sat for 1/2 hr. She came back and said, They were working on the order would we like another drink? We hesitantly agreed and continued to wait. 1/2 hour more went by and she came to the table and asked if we wanted another drink??? We said no! Both my husband and I had ordered the Tri tip which comes with a salad,potato. green beans and the meat. 1 hr and nothing. The other couple had ordered a Cobb Salad and Bruchetta and that was it. We again waited; both of the other two tables had finished and left. At the 1 1/2 hr mark the waitress brought out my husbands dinner sized caesar salad and thenleft to go look for mine. 5 minutes later she returned and then realized we did not have any utinsuls on the table to eat with. The salad looked like it had been dumped in a bowl and had 1 cup of dressing poured on it to the point of it dripping: I couldn't eat it. We also were put in the position of feeling bad felt bad because we were the only ones with any food to eat.15 minutes later she came back with a salad for our friend that was not a Cobb salad tht he had ordered! It had Pecans, another nut, carrots, cranberries and other stange stuff on it. Our friend, who disliked many of whatever they threw together, said "he would not eat that." Then she said, "Oh I'm sorry they lost your order, what did you have again?" This was the third time she had asked this question through out the hour and a half. She asked if we wanted to order again and we said "No!" Just bring us the bill for what we have received. No Manager or owner ever came over to appologize or offer to give us our dinks for free -No appology for having to wait 1HR 45 minutes! The bill came and we were cahrged $8 each for a regular salad -not the side dinner salad that came in the whole meal. We said we would not pay for a full salad and then she brought a revised bill at the $3.50 dinner salad that it should have been. We paid, still no manager or owner ... They just avoided us. That is not how when a restaurant makes a mistake they should behave! What is crazy about this is, it is almost unreal how everything went wrong! read more

Very annoying and confusing experience. Sat in the restaurant (after much discussion and planning). The whole time we were there some woman in the kitchen is talking and letting out this shrill laugh at the top of her lungs. Non stop. I commented on it to our server when were trying to find a seat as far away from the "yelling" as we can. She should have said something right then and there. She didn't. She was very sweet, young. But she should have had control or awareness of the ambiance. I only tipped 15% because of it. I got the chicken club. Menu said it was hand breaded but it reminded me of the same chicken strips we carry at my work. Very little bacon. Very bland yet too salty. Curly fries, onion rings, hubbys salad and burger were good. Will we go back? Probably not. read more

Absolutely the worst meal in memory. Friday night I ordered the Prime Rib, the baked potato was tepid to cold. The prime rib was a best warm, pan fried on both sides, no favor, no au jus juice and poor service. My wife had fish and chips that lacked any flavor. Stopped here while on our drive to Silver Falls as we had passed out of Portland already. Glad we did. Lots of great beers on tap and the bartender/waitress was more than happy to let us sample quite a few. The food was delicious for such a small place in the middle of nowhere. 3 of us shared a burger with fries, mozzarella sticks, and onion rings, and that was more than enough to fill us up. The beers were all delicious. We wished we had more room and time to enjoy a few more beers. If you happen to be hungry and already past Portland, this is a solid grub stop. read more

Wow! I ate there with my friends last week and had the most pleasurable experience. Not only was the food outstanding but the service was as well. Our server had dreadlocks (which I'm not particularly a fan of) but she was wonderful and did a great job. I will be happy to come in again. read more

The food is good, the service takes away from your entire experience. Not only does the waitress stand up at the bar the entire night with the expectation that you go to her to order, she can't even follow up to ask how your meal is or if you need anything else. When your ready to leave assure yourself that you will asking for your check. To nameless who waited on us, I seem to remember that tips are earned. read more

It was 2:00 on a weekday so there were no other customers in sight but I imagine it's a popular spot with locals who need a bite. Not a lot of food options in the area either. I have been to the lumberjack probably a dozen times over the last year. At first it was great! Good service and great food. Not sure what's happened, but the service and food quality has gotten worse every time we have gone. Maybe it had to do with having completely new staff each time we've gone, can't keep their employees??Our last visit, it took about 30 minutes and is asking 3 times to get our sodas. The couple next to us were on the verge of walking out after waiting close to 20 minutes to have their order taken. The food was ok, not nearly as good as it used to be. The servers let either disappearing or getting preoccupied making up silverware sets. There were 3 table of people and we all were looking around like, WTF! Finally got up and stood by the bar so we could get our check. Part of the problem is that even though there is a Small bar in the restaurant, the staff has to go to the other building ( the actual bar) to get most cocktails and beers. Takes forever. I'm pretty patient, but this was ridiculous. We will never go back. I'd give it 0 stars, but yelp won't help me. read more

For ambience I give this place a thumbs way down. Decor made no sense and had a cheap hotel bar vibe in the restaurant. It looks like the outdoor seating would be nice in the summer though. The service wasn't great but I will say that the waitress was nice, apologetic, and was trying. The menu was having an identity crisis. Burgers, steak, clam chowder, wings, corn dogs, egg rolls.... am i at an Applebees? I can almost picture the cook reaching into the very back of a freezer to chisel out a few egg rolls when they get ordered.... weird. My steak had amazing flavor and didn't need anything on it - very good. I wish i would have ordered it medium rare though. I ordered it medium and it came well done. Mashed potatoes were so amazing! Not totally smooth, had some chunks of potato in them and were seasoned perfectly. My Caesar salad was tasty but had quite a hilarious amount of croutons! We were dying and I wish I would have taken a pic of my plate full of croutons after I finished. Skip dessert. The cheesecake was tasteless - unless you count the taste of freezerburn. Go grab a fro yo or Safeway Bakery item. Will we go back? Probably, but only if the weather is nice and we can sit outside. read more

This restaurant is what we needed! The food is great, fresh green beans not canned. We enjoy the salads and the prime rib rivals prime ribs in the big cities. Sherry our waitress is just the best. Best Long Island Iced Tea in the Northwest! No joke! read more

By far the worst service ever! 3 waitresses on staff all of which make eye contact with you and still have to wait 25 and still no service. Oh and to add to it they only had customers at 3 tables so they were over busy. read more

The burgers here are terrific! Sautéed mushrooms and onions, real cheddar cheese, thousand island dressing, bacon and an onion ring make this burger one of the best in the area. The venue is awesome too. Very open design, the summer patio looks like a wedding venue. This is a must try. read more

I had heard a lot of good things about this place. I was disappointed last Friday night to find that the restaurant and the food leaves a lot to be desired. I knew the restaurant would be small from the previous restaurant that was there. But was surprised that the new tables were so small. The dinning area had no art work or decor on the walls or around the restaurant. Not inviting at all. Then, when I asked for a glass of house red wine, I was told they had none,they had Chardonnay if I wanted.. With so much "beef" on the menu, to not have red wine was surprising. They also had NO gluten free options on the menu. Which will be a problem going forward to returning. It's not that hard to have GF bread or hamburger buns on hand these days. read more

Food good but hope they took a mishap seriously. The other night a catsup bottle exploded all over when I opened it. All over my clothing, my face, hair, food, and the guy behind me. I read that it's typically due to bacteria that causes gasses to build and often happens when dirty bottles are repeatedly filled. I only ate a small portion that wasn't touched by the catsup for fear the catsup was bad. I was offered a new meal but didn't want to wait again for food. I was comped $3. read more

Service was terrible and we had to go to them for menus and check and very slow to be waited on even though only ones outside when we got there. We ordered our burgers at 7:20pm. It's now 7:54pm - no burgers yet. There are no drinks at the burger shack; you have to order at the bar next door. We ordered 4 soft drinks for $10 (plus tip). It took 17 minutes (no kidding!) just to get the drinks. Now it's 7:57 and no burgers. Maybe we'll get them some day. read more

Outdoor and indoor seating for a great selection of steaks and specialty meals. Loved the artichoke dip! Our family enjoyed Cobb salad as well as juicy, perfectly cooked ribeye, top sirloin and their "Logger" steaks. Happened upon their soft opening. Will definitely return! You can starve at this place. I ordered my food 1/2 half later asked about it they lost my order. It took them another 1/2 half to get the order correct. The "owner" is a dentist who leases the place out to ??? Thus the Cie La Vie or whatever he called it, is no longer, it is now Lumberjack. When the new lease "owner" came on board, we tried it, it was winter and the waiter forgot our food (hamburgers) out in the cook wagon, we got ICE cold burgers and fries, Guy dumps them in a TO GO box and we take them home and heat them in the micro wave. Fortunately he admitted his mistake and no charge for the cold burgers. We never went back for MONTHS, then one night out of desperation, Marquam is closed on Monday nights...we gave them a second try. Former owners daughter, a cutie pie and excellent waitress, got us our food exactly as ordered. Since then, we've been back several times, so as long as we get former owners cute daughter, who is a GOOD waitress, we're doing fine. The problem before was inconsistent food. Same order on a different day could be way different because a huge turnover in cook staff. But given the choices to eat in Molalla, it's about as good as it gets, the White Horse's burgers buns are so soaked with grease, I cannot eat them. The other options are Mexican or Chinese. I hoping with the "influx" of new residents maybe someone will open a NORMAL restaurant. We usually go either Marquam or Golf Course, but would be nice if Molalla had a decent restaurant. I do remember Debbie Hoffman and the Hoffman House and the last decent place they had in Molalla...I will give them this, the restaurant business is hard and even harder to please everyone, but like previous people mentioned, the customer service is NOT good unless you get former owners daughter for your waitress. read more

Burgers are pretty good here and I'm a sucker for curly fries but the service is absolutely horrible here.. we have eaten in the restaurant AND the taproom.. our dinner experience in the restaurant was the worst. We walked in to a full restaurant, but when I say full that means all 6 tables were occupied.. we got a table rather quickly but took a while for the menus. We ordered drinks and an appetizer of spinach dip then ordered our dinner. We both ordered steaks medium rare. When we finally received our dinner I asked that they just cancel our appetizer and she said oh it's almost done.. I have worked in the industry for about 15 years and I do know that spinach dip is one of the quickest things you can get out of a kitchen which is why we ordered it, we were starving. So, we canceled the dip which was annoying but at least we had our dinner.. as I cut into it, it is VERY well done. I'm staring at my food trying to decide if I really want to send it back when I see a nasty black hair on my steak.. dropped the silverware and got up to leave.. told the server, who I think is the owner about the steak, and the hair.. the other server was wearing some sort of tasteless belly shirt with her thong revealed in the back.. very classless.. now we only go for the burgers in the lower taproom and just count on mostly self service.. I'm an excellent tipper if I'm taken care of but you only get $5 on a family of 4 if I have to do the work myself!! read more
