This is the second location of several that continues to grow. You can see why with the super fresh ingredients, delicious flavors, and friendly service. Love it when you dine at a new place with a foodie friend you trust who knows what to order. This is one of her parents' go to places when they drive in from Olympia, WA. *Taquitos were crispy potato filled rolls. We chose the mushroom topping which was good!!! *Tamarindo ribs- came glazed with a unique tamarind flavor and a little kick that I have not had anywhere else. *Mini Sopes- we chose 3 different proteins ( which were all good braised beef, citrus pork, and chorizo). The Fish taco which came highly recommended was my least favorite because it had too much mayo in the slaw for me. I had to scrape most of it off. Everything comes garnished with beautiful purple pickled onions that are crunchy and compliment all the dishes. Friend had the non alcoholic Mexican Lime beer and I had the Jamaica (hibiscus) aqua Fresca which had lovely hints of spice. This was certainly much better than the Mexican food I get at home! The salsa music in the background made me wanna get up and dance.

We got the beef taquitos, shrimp ceviche, and sopes. Everything was beautifully plated, but was also lacking in flavor. :( ceviche was really fresh, but a bit bland. The taquitos were filled with mashed potatoes but it didn't taste like they were seasoned. They had such good potential but the under seasoned food left much more to be desired. Maybe I just came in on an off day as they have great reviews, but maybe I'll give them another try.

It is located in a strip mall on Hart, which we can get to literally by rolling down the hill from our home on Cooper Mountain. It looks like one of those hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurants, of which Oregon has plenty, and it is. But the food... Oh man, the food! It is so good! My wife and I have our favorite dishes (she likes birria tacos, I love the wet carnitas burrito), and when we have company in town, we always manage to introduce them to the flavors of La Parrilla! Last night was no excpeption, although this time was a first for us. We went in and got a table. It's a small place with a bar and a few tables, but we got seated and ordered our food. Service is always friendly, delivered witha smile, whether you are picking up food to go (our usual method) or not. Because we were eating in, my buddy and I both got margaritas. Damn, they were good! Flavorful, nicely iced, and yes, you could taste the tequila (they offer several choices)! This was a very pleasant surprise and makes me think of eating in there again soon. The chips and salsa were wonderful. And yes, it's all home-made. My friend, who is visiting from out of town, said it was the best salsa he's ever had. It was dark, spicy, smoky, and just yummy! Oh, and don't forget the red and green sauces that they also make themselves! The red will light your fire and the green will add personality to any dish you put it on. They also sell these sauces in small containers. Check out La Parrilla, you won't be disappointed!
