Worst customer service experience at Lululemom. I really wish I had gotten the name of the associate at the register, she had long red hair.
From the beginning, her attitude came across as unfriendly and like she really didn't want to help us. We went to check out, and after she had only scanned about two items, we wanted to use the military/first responder discount. We initially started the transaction under my mom's lululemon account, but we didn't have the first responder information with us. My sister is also eligible, so we asked if we could use her discount instead since the items being purchased were for those who qualified.
My sister didn't already have a lululemon account, so the associate would have needed to cancel the transaction and create one for her. She told us she couldn't apply the discount because she had already started scanning. Since it was only two items, we asked if she could cancel it and start over. You could immediately tell she was annoyed that she had to do this and create an account for my sister. She gave us dirty looks, rolled her eyes a couple of times, and made us feel like we were inconveniencing her simply by asking for help.
At that point, it wasn't even about the discount anymore, it was about how we were being treated. We felt like we were being treated definitely not the way we would expect to be treated while shopping there. In the middle of the transaction, we finally asked her to cancel everything because it had become so uncomfortable. You could clearly tell she didn't want to help us and that, to her, we were more of an inconvenience.
My sister typically shops at Vuori but was planning on purchasing several lululemon items that day. The purchase was about $600+ on clothing/backpack, but the experience was uncomfortable enough that we chose to leave without purchasing anything.
With so many competing brands these days, customer service makes a huge difference. We weren't asking for special treatment, we were simply trying to properly use a discount available to eligible military and first responders. Creating an account and restarting a transaction after only two items had been scanned shouldn't result in customers being made to feel like a burden.
It's disappointing that we walked away from a $600+ purchase because of how we were treated. A little patience, kindness, and willingness to help would have completely changed the experience. read more
