One of the best, if not the best happy hours I've ever been to. Half a lobster for $23, 1/2 dozen oysters for $12, 1/2 dozen clams for $9, 3 pieces of shrimp for $12, snow crab claws for $24 ?!?!? All this and more is possible when you dine in during the week from 12-3:30pm or from 5-6:30 for dinner. The interior of Lulu's is super nice and upscale. Our server was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I was too hungover to have a cocktail sadly, but my brother got The Ambassador martini (also on happy hour) that looked delicious to start. We ordered pretty much every seafood item on happy hour along with the shishito peppers and were so happy and satisfied by the end. All of the seafood was incredibly fresh. The shishito peppers were perfectly grilled. The octopus skewer was tender and delicious. Shrimp, crab, oysters and clams were all super fresh. Even the bread they put out was out of this world. My only complaint is that there were a lot of fruit flies around -- likely because we were seated near the produce that was out on display. Its been awhile since we've eaten here and I have to say that was our mistake. Last night's dinner was one of the nicest experiences we've had. The restaurant is one giant hallway with a beautiful bar and tables lined up on either side. The mussels simply were the best we have ever had. We kept in simple having the skirt steak along with a burger. Both were outstanding the chimicurri sauce on the steak was delicious. Service was fantastic with really engaging servers and a manager who seemed to be on top of everything. On multiple occasions, of late, the staff has proven to be uber accommodating, knowledgeable and professional. We made a reservation for 8:30 for my brother's birthday and arrived at 8:27. When we arrived, I gave the name of the reservation and the time. I was told by the front of house (presumably the manager) that "they were running about ten minutes behind" and that "we were early." The manager then suggested that we "go take a walk." I was turned off with this response for a few reasons. Firstly, there was no apology on behalf of the management. Our party completed understood that it is possible for a restaurant to need a few minutes to clear a table. But, it is not acceptable for the management to state that being early is a reason for tardiness on their end. Three minutes "early" is not a significant amount time to include in reasoning for a table not being ready. Apologize and own the scheduling discrepancy. Secondly, it was extremely rude for the manager to suggest that the solution to this situation was to "take a walk." Normally, a party is offered to sit at the bar and wait. Yet, we were told to walk outside on a windy night in the middle of November. Thirdly, there was no proper solution offered to alert us when our table would be ready. There was no offer to confirm our phone number to call while we were on our suggested stroll down Main Street. All of this occurring on a reservation where I clearly stated this was for a special occasion via Resy. Eventually, we decided to have dinner elsewhere where we were seated promptly and treated like properly paying customers. I wish I dug a little deeper into the reviews on Yelp where service (!) is clearly noted multiple times as a weakness. There are many places to eat dinner while visiting. I've been going here since this place opened in Sag Harbor and I've always enjoyed the food. This time, I made a reservation online a few nights before we wanted to go to the restaurant. When we went into the restaurant for our reservation, the staff could not find our reservation, but they were able to find us a table since it was early enough. To eat, our table shared the large sized market salad and I got the chicken for my main dish. The market salad was good, but didn't have a lot of vegetables other than lettuce and was slightly overdressed. The chicken was great, as was the side of greens it came with. For dessert, our table shared the crème brûlée and the profiterole which were both well done. Here are the drawbacks to my meal experience: Our table ordered a lot of food, including a bottle of wine, other drinks from the bar, and dessert, yet we were continually rushed. Whether I momentarily put down my utensils or went to have a drink of water, there were waiters who were very attentive and asked whether we were done and they could clear our plates. While the attentiveness is appreciated, it felt like the staff was rushing our meal a lot! We were paying for a full meal as well as beverages and I was extremely surprised at how quickly it felt like we were being moved along. Since I have been going here for a long time and I always enjoy the food, I will probably try this restaurant again in the hopes of a better outcome. read more

Lulu's is very attractive and inviting, and we visited for cocktails and appetizers. Everything was delicious and creative, making me wonder why there's not much Yelpy love here. Lulu's almost feels like a dinner club from a classic era, updated to today's tastes. It's been here five years, I learned from our server. The lighting, the well-dressed tables all invite you to relax on a casual elegant level. There's a fun touch here when you see what looks like branded matchbooks. Super cute. When you open up the 'book', you'll discover it's something entirely different. A fun souvenir, and better than matches. If you happen to visit on a Wednesday, as we did, you may want to lean into Wednesday Wine Night. Twenty Five Percent off your wine, so there's that. Found a nice Sancerre on the menu, and was happy to imbibe by the glass. The soup du jour was the Marseille. I, for one, had never heard of it, but am familiar with the general idea. Imagine a seafood stew, tomato based. But instead of the Italian (or maybe more probably San Franciscan) treat, this soup is pureed. There are no chunks of anything. Sure, this may make one really curious as to what they are about to ingest, since you can taste but cannot see it. Whatever they have in there, packs a gentle, satisfying flavor. A medium consistency with seasonings you might be able to pick out. But, wait, there's more. Another server appeared and gave us the add-ons, with instructions on how to 'play'. Croutons, cheese threads and a garlicky thick remoulade. Stir it in - as much as you can take. I loved it, and it gave the Marseille a broader texture and body that was otherwise not there. It gets spicy, though, FYI. I loved how the soup was almost its own show. Top Neck clams, sourced locally, are served raw, on ice. Similar to the more familiar raw oysters, the pinkish, meaty clams are bigger than Little Necks. Served with a vinegar onion dressing and lemons, the Top Necks have a more satisfying meatiness to them. Far from an expert on these mollusks, I still found them refreshing and easy to like. Baked to order baguette is delicious and so welcome. I would definitely return to Lulu's. It did take awhile to get out check after affirming that we would not be having dessert. That's no reason to skip Lulu's - whether it's Wednesday Wine night or not. read more

We arrived expecting a casual dinner at this supposedly charming Hamptons spot, only to be greeted by a hostess on a serious power trip. "Rude" doesn't even begin to cover it, she seemed to relish gatekeeping a restaurant that's clearly trying too hard to act exclusive. The menu was both overpriced and limited. I ordered the herb-roasted chicken, which turned out to be a greasy, fatty mess. The skin was limp and uncrisped, and the meat sat in an oily puddle that tasted like it had been lingering in the back of a fridge. For the price, I expected something gourmet--not a sad, overpriced chicken that left us both feeling queasy. Pretentious without the payoff. Save your money and your dignity, there are far better options in Sag Harbor. Hard pass. read more

We walked by and saw the restaurant was busy, so we decided to stop in for lunch. Despite seeing negative reviews, we thought to give it a chance. We asked to sit outside; there were several empty tables in the front on the sidewalk, but the manager walked us all the way to the back patio which was covered, not outside, and the seats were covered in dead plants. Anyway, 2 of us ordered a salad with grilled shrimp. The "salad" was 3 pieces of wilted lettuce that was brown on the ends, and slices of brown spotted avocado on the side. We told the food runner, and she brought our food back to switch our the avocado. The server did not even come check on us. They brought back the salad with avocado even browner than the first time! It was so unappetizing and for $38, YES $38 for lettuce and 3 shrimp, this was a disgrace. I understand it's hamptons prices, and I have no problem paying for tasty food, but this was a complete joke. Again, the server did not check on us. When she came over, I let her know about the salad and the manager came over. They did take the salads off the bill, but it was still horrible service and food. read more

I really don't like to write bad reviews. I mostly signed onto yelp to write good reviews of restaurants and usually keep it to myself when I have a bad experience because I want to support hard working folks. But this experience leaves me scratching my head. We sat down at a gorgeous restaurant and were excited about our meal. Within a few minutes, we were served fresh bread with some nice olive oil. We ordered a few items, including heirloom tomatoes and oysters. The heirloom tomatoes came--nothing too bad to complain about. The tomatoes themselves were a bit mushy and mealy, but I get it, you can't really control the tomatoes you get sometimes. Then the oysters came. When the first got to the table, something smelled a bit off. Too fishy for oysters. But we ate them, and then we got to the last oyster and my wife slurped it into her mouth and immediately spit it out. I smelled the rotten smell immediately. It smelled of a porta potty. My wife got up to run to the bathroom and potentially throw up. I tried to flag down the waiter and could not get anyone's attention for about 5-7 minutes. Finally someone came to our table and we told her of the oyster that was rotten. To her credit, she was mortified and immediately apologized. I told her I wanted to cancel our entrees, pay out, and leave. Of course, we stopped eating our mediocre tomatoes after we were served rotten oysters because we lost our appetite. We then got our check. And they charged us for the tomatoes (ok, not the greatest but fine) and then took TWELVE DOLLARS off the oysters. So we paid for half the price of the (rotten) oysters! My jaw dropped. My wife was so sick that I just paid the bill and left to get out of there as quickly as possible. We had planned to be in Sag Harbor all day (we were staying for Memorial Day weekend), and we decided to immediately leave because my wife felt sick and was afraid that she might have food poisoning. So basically, my weekend away was ruined by the bad food at this restaurant. Again, people make mistakes. I would not have written this bad review just for a bad oyster. But the way the restaurant handled it was completely inappropriate for a professional, dignified establishment. Do better. read more

Ive been here before and it was an alright experience but nothing compares to how tonight went. I had a waiter that was pretty aloof and his service was alright but me and my girlfriends night changed when Naz entered the scene. Naz went above and beyond to make my cousins birthday dinner amazing! We were well fed, he recommended exquisite cocktails and I had an amazing time. The food was incredible. The mussels and tagliatelle tattooed their flavor into my brain and I will forever remain obsessed! I am definitely going back time and time again!
