Another lively meal with great service! Hopping on a Tuesday night (tho it is August in the Hamptons). Our server and the runners etc were great as was food-only negative is sound -it's so darn loud/ wonder if they can do something to aid in the acoustics as our party of 3 could barely speak read more

Terrible food, terrible service. I just ordered udon to-go and the packaging was unbelievable. There is nothing securing the soup with tape or a rubber band. It spilt all over my car and when I spoke to a manager, he was so rude and defensive. Unprofessional. Also they use the cheapest product (i.e. all of the fish, especially their tuna) on the east end. read more

Had a great evening at Sen. Gustavo took care of us very well. It was very busy and the space is maxed out. I was so happy to see that this establishment has Little Sumo Sake. It's my favorite, it's been hard to find in restaurants. My husband started with the shrimp tempura roll and I had a rainbow roll, I made sure to tell them not to put shrimp due to my allergy. After that our appetites grew so I ordered edamame and a tuna Hama roll. The tuna Hama looks very plain but it has a nice kick to it, I enjoyed it very much. My husband also ordered a dragon roll and a tiger roll. The hot lemon ginger honey tea was super delicious and just what I needed to finish my evening. The wet closet was very clean and well kept. read more

Immaculate. No Flaw. Great Service. Food is very high quality. I love it. Definitely coming back. A bit pricey, but worth it.

Overpriced sushi and bland. Grocery store sushi tastes better. Sticky table. Server was socially awkward. Passed by several times and we thought they'd fill our glass of water like higher end restaurants normally do. Wine tasted like it was bought at the gas station. Not to mention we were seated outside and the back area was extremely lacking in attention to detail. Back areas are an excellent opportunity to create ambiance, however the ambiance was rather sloppy and uninviting. It literally felt like we were sitting out by the street. read more

Came here on a weekend getaway to Sag Harbor. They don't reservations but we were sat right away. The ambiance is classy/casual. The sushi was nothing outstanding, but it was good. We started with the crunch rice tuna (crispy rice). The rice was a bit chewy and hard to eat. Rolls: Torched salmon: I love torched rolls, and their torched salmon roll lived up to my expectation. Next time, however, I would ask for it without the chili threads because it made the roll a bit hard to eat and was stringy. Tiger Roll: This roll was light, and very flavorful. It comes wrapped in a green soy paper instead of rice. Tuna Avocado: You can't go wrong with this classic. Overall, the service was good and the staff were friendly. However, for good sushi, I've definitely had better places. read more

Great sushi spot... everything on the menu is good. The ramen and udon are great. Good quality. Clean. Great staff. read more

Sen is a modern Japanese restaurant in downtown Sag Harbor. The restaurant has a lot of seating and also has a sushi bar if you want to sit in front of the sushi chef and order there. The restaurant was packed the whole time we were there and it was a loud atmosphere. The food didn't take too long to come out and we tried some great appetizers and sushi rolls. We had the seaweed salad and Crispy Rice Tuna bites to start. Both were amazing and my girlfriend said it was the best crispy rice tuna she has had! For sushi rolls we tried the Torched Salmon, Tuna Hama, and Garuda. The Garuda was my favorite, and had lightly fried tempura outside. The Tuna Hama paired spicy tuna on top and tender yellowtail together which was delicious as well. This was a great visit and the food, service and atmosphere were all delightful. read more

Without exaggerating, the best sushi I have ever tried. Always so fresh and delicious. On top of that, they serve the best spicy mayo! The food is always so good that we can never wait long enough to take a picture. Servers complete the entire experience with their excellence. A must-visit spot if you're in the Hamptons! I always love coming back :) read more

I've been going to Sen for a long time and it was good for a while but lately it's been so bad that the food is almost inedible. The fish in the chirashi sushi was so old that it was almost dangerous. The sushi rice was a terrible texture and flavorless. The broth for the vegetable ramen was tasteless salt water. The vegetables were bland. Not even the miso soup was good. I will not be going back read more

Really good. Actually quite improved. Crispy rice with spicy tune a highlight. Service attentive and nice. (We went on a slow night in the winter...a little zoo-like mid summer, but still good.) read more

In a word Meh. Much prefer my local sushi sports in Port Washington and Syosset. Very expensive for what it was. Salmon with veggies underwhelming, Sent back back bec veggies were steamed and tasteless. No soup or side salad wirh Asian dressing with entree as I'm used to. Hubby liked his sushi but fish pieces were tiny. Never in Sag Harbor so this is a one and done. The places I frequent get 5 stars not 3 like Sen. read more

Excellent sushi spot in the Hamptons with chill vibes. Can be a bit of a wait for a table but I was able to grab a seat at the bar solo and treat myself to several rolls and a cocktail. read more

Is this the greatest sushi I've ever tasted ? No. But it's very nice sushi. It's fine. It's good. But I tell you, what's really great about this place is the location, the decor, the lighting, and the very lovely, attentive staff. It's a good solid enjoyable restaurant experience. You will not regret it. It can be very romantic. Or it can be a great for parties of 4 or 6. Or hell, throw your next bday there and take the whole place over. Enjoy. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE. It was packed you can tell it's a local spot with great vibes. We were seated immediately which was a plus. The food came out so fast and everything we had was fresh and amazing. Honestly one of my fav place in the Hamptons and will definitely become routine. Definitely order the pork bao, crispy rice, miyako roll!! Our waiter was so sweet and kept checking in on us. Edamame was soggy and tasted like it was reheated. Tuna appetizer was good but way overpriced for a single piece of sashimi sliced into five paper thin pieces and topped with a pepper. Tuna roll was an awful slurry. Huge lack of cocktail options. The sushi at Stop and Shop is literally better than this place. read more

My 2nd time here . And will Still go back here everyday if its not just pricey. But food is super fresh soooo good specially the sushi. Ambiance of course its loud normal but they have garden area a little less noise . Service good too. Pretty busy place service is pretty fast even tho its busy. Reviews here should be way better than 3 stars . read more

Really nice ambiance, we ate in the backyard garden and Gustavo was very patient and polite with us. He answered all of our questions and accommodated the vegans at our table. He was great. The food was great! The wait time was a bit much, but it's Sag Harbor on a Saturday, what do you expect? My sister's vegan roll was great, and the chicken karaage was great with the pickled ginger. I loved my ramen, it was super flavorful and excellent overall. I would eat here again for sure. read more

My girlfriend and I ate here on Saturday, 10/28/23. We both were very sick the following day all day long. I called today, the first manager said he would "ask the kitchen" and call me back, never did. I called back two hours later and spoke to a different manager who said they would refund the bill which was the least they could do. No apology, no explanation or anything, mostly just arguing with me. I got notification of a refund, they only refunded one dish, as opposed to the whole bill. Not really acceptable in my opinion. You trust that paying money for food will not get you sick and if it does, at the very least, you'll get an empathetic apology and full refund and an assurance that they will check their food to make sure nobody else gets sick and that they're doing their best to never have something like this happen again. That was NOT my experience. Eat here at your own risk. read more

Nice staff; owner came to talk to us and was very friendly. Seated fairly quickly for a party of 7. The sushi wasn't the best sushi I've ever had, it was mediocre. The dumplings were also just ok. Tasted like they had been previously frozen and reheated. It's a super tight; closely seated restaurant. Lastly, it was really expensive which I guess they can justify because they are in The Hamptons. read more

Excellent vibe. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The Ramens are delicious, the shishito peppers is one of my favorite items. When ordering sushi; make sure to get the Orchid Roll. And check out the sake selection it's great. Hands down the best Japanese place in the Hamptons. read more

Love it. The Garuda roll is a must order, it's pretty unique to this place. The Lychee martini here is made from fresh pureed lychees so I recommend it! The crispy tuna is good, the ramen is good, the steamed buns are sooo good. The vibe hasn't changed in years and I love that. I'm not a fan of the back patio or the bit about your whole party needs to be there to get a table (someone is always parking the car) But overall we really like it here. read more

My mom and I have made it tradition to stop for dinner at Sen everytime we go to the Hamptons each summer. I spend all year craving what I refer to as "my favorite sushi roll", and man is it worth the wait! Sen is an excellent addition to the little strip of restraunts in Sag Harbor. We usually go late evening, around 8:00 on a weekend and at this hour, it's very busy and LOUD so this isn't the place for you if you're not up for a little noise. One appetizer is better than the next at Sen. The rolls are all made fresh and they're extremely tasty. A favorite appetizer of ours are the chicken lemongrass dumplings. They're great! There is also usually a bit of a wait as there aren't many dinner options in Sag Harbor and this is a great meal in high demand! It's absolutely worth the wait! read more

My wife and I got the salmon and the chicken fried rice appetizer. It was mediocre. I don't really think it was worth the price. Salmon was small for 32 dollars. Chicken has a weird taste in the fried rice. The chicken seems like it would go better with chicken salad. Super packed but nice seating. Service was nonexistent after ordering. read more

The food was so fresh and delicious! Ask for Negib as your server! He was so sweet and really helped me. Thanks Negib for the romantic dinner! read more

Sen - Szechuan Tofu - Sushi Bars Near Me - Sag Harbor, New York

This was a solid sushi restaurant in Sag Harbor. They do not take reservations, so you just have to go to their back patio and add your name to the waitlist. I went tonight and added my name at 7:15pm and was seated about an hour later. Currently they are doing outdoor seating. They turned their parking lot into a nice outdoor dining area with astroturf, picnic tables, and string lights. Our waiter, Anthony, was incredibly nice, patient, and helpful. We got canned sake that was delicious. For appetizers we had they edamame (really good and not overly salty at all) and the crispy tuna rice dish (it comes with four decently sized pieces, really tasty). We ordered a whole assortment of sushi for our main. They did a great job with the special rolls in terms of combining ingredients that go well together. The quality of the fish is good, but not Nakazawa level. The only thing that I did not like was their fatty tuna - it was a hard piece in it which wasn't pleasant. It did take quite a while for the food to come out, but since I was with a group of 5, we enjoyed spending the time hanging out so it wasn't a big deal. read more

This is hands down my favorite Japanese in the Hamptons. Sushi are unforgettable, staff is welcoming, the place has a very friendly and familiar vibe. The only thing, prepare for long waits around dinner time on weekends as they don't take reservations. read more

Been coming to this place for years because it's basically the only sushi spot in sag harbor. Both the food quality and the service has gone way downhill this summer - this newest hostess/waitress was the rudest restaurant staff person I have ever encountered (Sen owner if you are reading, this was 8/31/24, whoever was working the hostess stand around 2:30pm), she acted like we were doing her a disservice by eating there... that's pretty much the last straw, never eating there again read more

I organized a public event in East Hampton last spring and needed a tasty and reasonably-priced venue--a tall order in the Sag area-- to feed the 20-or-so speakers and organizers of our event. Sen couldn't have been more accommodating. They put together a delicious and very reasonable Bento box menu plus appetizers for our group. Service was attentive.
