Some dishes arrived cold, and others came much later than the rest of the table. The fajitas were especially disappointing. They weren't served sizzling like you'd expect, the vegetables were barely cooked and seemed almost raw instead of grilled, and they didn't come with sour cream or guacamole. We had to ask for them, and then were charged an extra $5 for a tiny portion of guacamole. The enchiladas were shockingly small for the price and didn't arrive until 10-15 minutes after everyone else had already been served. Overall, between the slow service, inconsistent timing, cold food, and underwhelming quality, this meal was not worth the price. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back.

Room to Improve: 1) Inflexible 4:00PM check-in. They emailed to ask when we'd arrive beforehand; I said 2:00 and would appreciate an early check-in, they said to wait and will text me when room was ready. Actually we had to wait outside in the heat or in the crowded lounge until 4:30PM, no early check-ins for anyone (there were other guests waiting with us). We would have walked into town for lunch had we known this. 2) Free coffee but no included food for breakfast, which is only served in their upstairs restaurant at extra charge. At BC's price point they could have offered a few complementary pastries, as is done at many cheaper venues. 3) The a/c in our room was old, noisy, had no remote and didn't work well. Musty smell in room. 4) Lunch served outside only in all kinds of weather, insufficient umbrellas to provide shade on hot day. (Pls see separate review for their restaurant). All in all our stay at Barons Cove was pretty good, but felt their oldish amenities didn't warrant high room rates plus puzzling "resort fees."

For entrees, I got the fish and chips, Cathie got the bouillabaisse, friends got the chicken Milanese special (what a deal!!), Scottish salmon with ramen, burgers, and another bouillabaisse. We all loved our choices but highlights were definitely the chicken Milanese dinner special (because even with slight up charges for certain items, it is an amazing deal!!); and the bouillabaisse. A long, dark bar sits by the entryway with cheerful bartenders awaiting. The Bouillasse is a favorite, with clams, muscles, fish, shrimp and lobster in an an unbelievable pinkish-red stew flavored with lovely saffron. I was slightly disappointed the lobster didn't budge easily out of the shell. Nevertheless, the Bouillasse still remains a favorite. Without a doubt, I'll be back for more.

A rare one star review. Unfortunate it is indeed, but this restaurant deserves it because the staff is so heinously rude and incompetent. Did not have expectations for the food and it was good enough (comparable to a sushi restaurant you'd find in Milwaukee), but the service was so insultingly bad that I had to give it the one star. Long story short, during the whole meal the server acts like this place is packed even though it is probably about 25% full (lunch on a Sunday at like 2PM). He forgets half our order and gets very impatient when we ask questions about the menu. At one point while we are ordering he leaves and says he has to come back. On top of that, the server does not tell us how much some of the market price items on the menu are, which is fine, except he decides to choose the most expensive option for each. For example, the restaurant had both Uni flown in from Japan and also Uni from Santa Barbara. We weren't aware of this and instead of asking us which we preferred he automatically assumes we want the Uni from Japan, which happens to be 23 dollars for a single piece. When we mention that he probably could have let us know, instead of apologizing, he says "Oh, well, most of the customers here don't need to ask how much a menu item is." I was ready to pour some soy sauce on this fudgecicle's face! Instead i just gave him a little stink eye and tried to leave as graciously as possible. Never going back to this place! read more

Sen Restaurant in Sag Harbor is my 'go to' place out in the Hamptons. From the moment I entered I was greeted by warm and caring smiles. Very few places offer the kind of tuck-you-in-bed service I enjoy. Sen is one of the few that does it right. We were given a choice of seating between a table in the main room filled with sophisticated and rather stunning clientele or privacy of a cozy corner in the dimly lit bar lounge. My partner and I decided to dabble with the dimly lit lounge. Since the summer is right around the corner, I had a craving for cocktails. During our stay at Sen we were given just the right amount of attention, yet felt completely uninterrupted. Since summer is right around the corner, lychee martinis felt just right and were lick-your-lips delicious. Our rolls (ohh Garuda roll, you're so good) and a mix of small plates recommended by the knowledgeable, charismatic server were perfectly paired to each cocktail and sake we enjoyed. The entree was to die for. the words: "local, pan roasted duck breast over Thai black rice with carrot ginger puree" still make my mouth water. Excellent food, fantastic atmosphere, and great service are well worth the 2 hour drive from NYC. Also, it's surely a coincidence the staff here is gorgeous. Sen is a win. read more

Went here for the first time this weekend with a group of 5. Very trendy, modern, and cool Japanese restaurant in Sag Harbor. The waitress was very sweet and the service was alarmingly fast, which was a very good thing because sometimes sushi can take FOREVER at a more upscale Japanese restaurant. For the food, I really enjoyed the Crab Tacos with Jalapeños, Garuda Roll, and Verde Mexican Roll (which was a special). I also ordered the Mango Roll (another special) and was a little disappointed with it because it was pretty small and really only had a little slither of mango in each piece, which I was not expecting. Still an enjoyable meal though. Oh yeah, and their spicy mayo might be the best I've ever tasted.. I know it's very pricey here but I'd definitely stop by and give Sen a chance at least once! read more

Popped in recently for a bite after a movie. Good, solid fresh food. Started with the ramen noodle soup- perfect for a chilly night. Big tender pieces of pork belly, spinach, mushrooms and bamboo. The broth was hearty and rich. I sat at the sushi bar- the sushi chef gave me a little plate of local razor clam sushi. Incredibly fresh and a very nice touch. For my entree I had one of the special rolls that night- the Tornado roll. Spicy tuna wrapped in rice with Japanese shredded potato, lightly tempura'd on the outside. To die for! Served with a side of spicy mayo- I was in heaven. I also ordered wild ocean trout sashimi - tender, lean and fresh. The service was friendly, efficient, and knowledgable. SEN = sushi extortion nightmare. This place has taken Hamptons pricing to a whole other level. Portions are as small as you could imagine getting away with and that's paired with the polar opposite price wise. $14 for a Spicey tuna roll. $6 for a miniature version of a miso soup. Come on guys - it's water based. Put a little extra water in there. If you want something that's mediocre at best and astronomically priced go here. Otherwise skip sushi on your trip out to sag. This place is awesome, some of the best sushi i have ever ate!! The service is great, my green tea never was cold someone was always filling my cup with fresh tea. My oh-toro sashimi was like butter, and the uni was some of the freshest i have tried. Also the broiled miso black cod was fantastic it melts in your mouth!! They have 3 of my favorite sakes. The service was great, pretty busy place but its worth every minute you wait, my server recommended coming in for a late dinner to avoid waiting. Great price fixe goin on in the winter and the waiter asked me if i would like to try the Hot apple cider sake which was amazing, great for after dinner or on a cold night which in my case it was 20 degrees outside so it warmed me up quick ;). He was a tall gray bearded man and took our order squatting on the floor next to our table, kept forgetting about our table and our food should not have taken as long as it did. This is a fine spot I would consider take out maybe if I was really craving sushi but there is better out in the hamptons.

Tuna inside was just OK, not sure how much I liked the sweet chili sauce. This roll was on the smaller side -Sunrise roll (4.5/5): this roll is also on the smaller side, but was my favorite of the specialty rolls. Nice tempura crunch factor in the spicy salmon and I love ikura. Mayo on top was a bit much though, but salmon overall was very fresh -Pink Lady Roll (4/5): eat this right away before the shrimp tempura gets soggy, but the tempura was delicious! Paired well with the avocado and spicy tuna, but I did not love the sweet chili sauce -Tiger roll (2.5/5): my least favorite... more bland, nothing fancy, and was not a fan of the kombu seaweed.
