Food was okay, ordered chicken teriyaki with vegetables and rice, almost no flavor. Sushi was alright. We were expecting a little more from it. The waitress was nice but there was a problem, he charged two other things that we never ordered on the check, we realized only after I paid, and tipped him 20% of that total amount!! we proceeded to tell him and pointed the items that were never order by us and he said you guys are absolutely right that's a mistake, he took the check back to cancel and redo the payment, he only took 1 of the items off and left the tip that was for the old total! So not only he made a mistake twice but he also had the audacity to leave the old tip from the old total on the new check with only one item removed!!! Will never go back to this place! Please double check your bill when you go there and make sure that you order everything that is in there. read more

I ate here this week for the first time in a while. It's incredibly over priced like all Hamptons food and very meh 1. I am giving this 2 stars because the sushi was fine but nothing to write home about. Annoying they gave us the smallest amount of ginger and soy sauce for several roles and were annoyed when I asked for more. 2. We ordered the vegetable stir fry and red Thai curry and they are basically the same. The red Thai curry has that sauce soaked in the rice under the veggies. The curry sauce was bland and not good and the veggies in both dishes were sort of flavorless and just tasted like sesame oil. Maybe the meat is better? read more

Yama Q - The stir fry and red Thai curry - Sushi Bars Near Me - Bridgehampton, New York

It was so good the service was great the food was amazing I loved it I definitely recommend

Fantastic sushi in Bridgehampton. Ownership goes above and beyond to make sure you have a delicious sushi dining experience.

Food wasn't good. Sushi and Sashimi were poor quality. I would think twice before you eat here! Food used to be great here. A few Years ago i had great meals here. I think it has fallen off its rocker to try and serve fish of inferior quality. I wrote a previous review last week but removed it as i felt bad, but the truth is, i feel worse for not warning people. Fish was frozen. No reason to go to this restaurant. read more

Err, I'm not sure why yelp has this down as a bakery unless sushi is being sold in bakeries now. Anyways, this place is adorable and very cozy. They don't have too many tables and don't accept reservations, so your best bet is planning on an early dinner if you're not keen on waiting (it's worth the wait if you're on the fence). They have a pretty decent sized menu featuring Asian inspired dishes. I usually have dumplings, sushi or vegetable tempera as an appetizer and opt for the Yama Q salad as an entree. The desserts change from time to time, but the things that I've tried have been great. However excellent, the food is a little pricier than most sushi places which knocks it down a star. read more

We ordered from Yama Q yesterday. For one, they answered their phone even though they were extremely busy. I found them to be really professional and came out to the car to give me the food during the covid 19 environment. This is the first take out we ordered since the outbreak started and the sushi was delicious! Super fresh and so good. I highly recommend!! read more

I love this place. I've been visiting YamaQ 12+ years. Always have a beautiful meal and experience. Super clean approach to food, and always tasty. Lovely, friendly staff. Highly recommend! read more

What i think about the foods? The food is average, dont have much choices to eat. I ordered the monkfish fritters and agedashi tofu for my appetizer. And for my entree had sushi platter then strawberry rhubarb for pie. None of what i ordered is making me want to come back there again. For a place like that with price like that its just dont go together. They should have a cheaper price. But since no sushi placa around there, so yeah peoples dont have other choices. read more

I have to say this is my favorite place to eat when I am out that way. The salads are completely over sized! For lunch there are great specials and wonderful wraps. For dinner there are wonderful vegetarian and fresh local fish dishes. The sushi is fresh with great vegetarian roll choices. And dessert... oh la la! The desserts are great! All made there and always changing with the season. The strawberry-rhubarb crisp Ala mode (with ginger ice cream) is my favorite. It is a small place and they DO take reservations! read more

Reluctantly decided to try this place after years of exclusively patronizing Suki Zuki (another great Hamptons Japanese joint), and I have but only two words: blown away. The food? Amazing. The service? Great. Very cozy ambience while still able to maintain appropriate seating for customers. The fried pork dumplings were delicious, as was the miso soup. I've found my new happy place. read more

Best restaurant in Bridgehampton! Food is delicious, fresh, decently priced and the staff is very friendly. If you are in the area for lunch on the weekdays they have lunch specials which are an amazing value. For dinner you can't go wrong with sushi or any full dinner options but make sure you leave room for dessert. The pumpkin pie is literally the best I have ever had! This is a must try. read more

Disappointing experience. Formerly excellent restaurant is slipping. Hopefully it was just a one-night glitch but the sushi was poorly prepared and served (still fresh, though) and we were billed for an extra meal. Get it together Yama, you're much better than this. read more

Best sushi in the area. The family is super cool and they run a tight ship while somehow maintaining a fun environment. Fresh and delicious. Check them out! read more

This is my favorite restaurant in the Hamptons! Anyone looking for healthy and delicious food this is the place to go. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and it's a family run place. The Tofu Stir Fry and Yama-Q Salad are to die for and their fish specials are always fresh and fabulous. The sushi is not fancy- it's healthy! There's no mayo or friend ingredients This place is quite small and often gets busy but it's well worth it! read more

Best authentic creative tasty うまい japanese food out there. Will commute from manhattan if I wanted to eat here

Food was mediocre. Location is the only reason they are still around. Service is horrible and slow. The hostess was very rude. We will definitely not go back. Sen in Sag Harbor is way better. read more

Mediocre sushi, small to tiny cuts of sashimi, bland and overpriced salads. Not where to start but I will tell you that I will never be back. I took out 2 pieces of salmon, 2 pcs of yellow tail, 2 pcs of tuna, and order of Saba noodles, a Greek salad(go figure) a shrimp tempora roll and 2 other rolls and for 100 dollars I could not have expected the tiny and torn fillets, the tiny and bland food. It is just horrible...and with so many city folk spoiled on great sushi im amazed anyone goes back a second time. read more

I give this place 2 stars for a few reasons. Was looking for an intimate sushi spot and stumbled on Yama q.....sat in the back. No view (we knew that? The dinning ending in dark dismay and the server was too busy to serve us the way we (or anyone) deserved. We ordered 2 miso soups, 2 tempura shrimp, a beer, panna, and the sashimi plate. One miso came out. Water took forever. The sashimi and rolls were super small. Spent 100$. We didn't try entrees but it appears that may be the way to go. read more

All that's missing are a couple of high chairs. I'd eat there much more often if I didn't have to worry about where to seat my one year old. She loves the food just as much as I do read more

I've been here twice so far. The first time, I had the vegetable stir fry and it was fantastic - very well prepared, fresh assortment of veggies, well seasoned and balanced with just a touch of sesame oil. A 4-star meal. But the second time I went, just last night, I had the organic chicken teriyaki. What a letdown. The chicken was dry, obviously had been pre-cooked and sitting in the kitchen for a while. The vegetables had also been pre-cooked were and not at all fresh - the green beans had big slimy brown spots on them. The teriyaki sauce was nice, and the brown rice was good, too. But the whole dish had this ham-handed, slapped together feel. And for $22 it really should have been perfect. Oh well. That was at best a 2-star meal, so that's how I arrived at a 3-star rating. Nice to see they serve organic chicken, though. UPDATE: I went again a couple months ago and it was fantastic. So they're getting upgraded to four stars. read more

This is our favorite restaurant out on the east end for all the years we have lived here! The food is delicious, healthy, real and the atmosphere is wonderful! It's great if you eat seafood or are vegan. Highly recommended! read more

Very good, and low key. If you want some great salad, sushi, dumplings and beer/saki with friends, go here. It's easy going and not "sceney" AT ALL. I came here with a group of friends on a busy Friday and we waited maybe 15 minutes? We had drinks at the bar, staff was friendly and the service was good. Great little place read more

Very good sushi, and tons of vegetarian/vegan options, too. The fish was fresh and the rice was exactly as it should be. Definitely a cut above the rest. Prices are slightly on the high side, but this is quality sushi and worth the extra cash. Easily the best sush option in the Hamptons. read more

Waaaaaay over priced for sushi that is just average. You're better off going up the road to Citarella. Besides this place smells musty like rotting wood inside. read more

The only authentic and quality food in the Hamptons.. I live in Manhattan and look forward to eating there whenever I'm out east. Beats all the other restaurants that serve food that makes you yawn. I am not a big sushi fan at all (I actually don't understand the whole thing, and think it's kind of trendy nonsense that New Yorkers do just to feel cultured or something), but I liked this place, and I liked the sushi that my girlfriend made me eat. It was good, and that is saying a lot for someone who doesn't like sushi. We got the shrimp and veggie tempura to start, which wasn't anything to write home about, but it wasn't terrible either. What's up with fried vegetables by the way? You feel like you're doing your body a favor by eating vegetables, but then you're kind of reversing that good by eating a fried food. Wierd. I'm so conflicted about this... For our main course, it was the spicy tuna rolls, and I ordered the organic chicken teriyaki since I knew raw fish rolled up in rice sure as hell wasn't going to fill me up. Good decision, because these guys knew how to cook it. It was just the right amount of sauce and came with short grain brown rice - delish. We of course got some saki to wash it down (Well saki it to me baby, yeah! - Austin Powers, anyone?). read more

The food is delicious and they've got a pretty wide menu with some great specials. The sushi is great as well as their hot dishes like stir fry and random other ones. I've been here a lot and never heard anyone complain about the food. It's a bit too expensive but it is good quality sushi and Asian fusion read more

Kind of a cross between a sushi bar and a new age place...think Marin County. I like it sometimes, but the service is always a little "far out" if toy know what I mean. There is always something on the menu with t a really long explanation... definitely almost a throwback to the old Hamptons pre-1980. read more

Was a little disappointing. This place was recommended by a friend. My bad for not looking at the menu before going in. I was expecting an assortment of novelty rolls but it was more basic 101 sushi. Nothing appealed to me on the menu so I ended up with a piece of halibut which was rather bland, even with all the little sides they tried to throw in the mix. I wouldn't go back again. read more

When you decide to eat out whether at the actual location or pick up/delivery it's a luxury; and at the most you want to feel that the establishment cares about their food and your experience. So with that said this is not the place for that. If I can give no stars I would. First my husband found plastic in his food. The food that was not plastic had No taste. The rolls you see pictured by the restaurant are not accurate as you can see in my picture; all rice no substance. I can also tell you that they missed things from our order, and that the seared tuna looked like duck with nothing else with it despite being an entree. But for me the worst part was the lack of concern or care from the manager. He acted as if he did us a favor calling us back. When I told him everything he said "they don't specialize in pick up orders". Can you believe that (than don't have it as an option if you don't care). I didn't call for my money back which I told him. He made little to no effort in doing anything for us. He asked me to send him the pictures, I did, he never responded. So in closing, if your looking for quality and care this is definitely not the place. Don't be fooled by pictures. Go to a place that cares about their customers and the respect of their food. read more

Yama Q - That's suppose to be a maki roll - Sushi Bars Near Me - Bridgehampton, New York

I went to Yama-Q and received the worst service I have ever had. I asked for a glass of water and it took 20 minutes. The place was not busy and the waitress was standing around. Cute, but very bland food....miso soup was more like hot water.

The moment you enter the intimate dining room or find yourself led to the fire illuminated back garden you know you're in for a culinary treat. If you happen to find yourself seated at the small but charming sushi bar make sure to strike up a conversation with the talented, witty and ever gracious sushi chef extraordinaire Saneto. Not only will he gladly lead you through an exploration of all the tastes and textures the sea has to offer but he'll do it in a way that will make you feel both entertained and well informed. The rainbow roll can't be beat but dont shy away from the excellent entrees, the salmon teriyaki in particular is a delight. Really no matter which dish you choose it's hard to go wrong with this Hamptons gem. read more

I came here based on a recommendation from a local and it was absolutely incredible.. the food was so fresh and flavorful, yet not too salty or sweet.
