The gyozai were very good. The vegetarian and Thai dishes were solid. We split an order of fried bananas with ice cream for dessert. We lingered for well over two hours without any issue. This spot also can't seem to time these omakase courses out properly. We were told to arrive 15 minutes early for our reservation and that drinks would be served out on the patio in the meantime via text from the restaurant. There was no one out there when we arrived, and it took another 20 or so minutes passed our reservation time for the previous group of people to be done dining and for the staff to turn the room over. It also feels rushed to have people seated while you're finishing your omakase who are coming in for the next seating. All the kinks aside, the ambiance is inviting and the sushi is delicious. The standard offering they have during weekdays is definitely not as elevated and inventive as the bougie menu, but still fresh and enjoyable. The toro and the wagyu and uni were standouts for me. I'll definitely be back next year, but will make sure to book the first seating and opt for the extended menu. I'd skip the caviar addition next time around as well if it's still in this DIY format.

The store is very bright, which is excellent for examining produce for spots, and they also have plants at much lower prices than King Kullen. I bought two African violets for $2.99 each! At noon, the dining room was nearly deserted aside from three staffers -- yet the atmosphere in the back kitchen was loud, tense, and openly hostile. One staff member in particular barked orders at others with an aggression that made the entire space feel uncomfortable. Tony should have no trouble identifying who I'm referring to. Service at the bar was equally unacceptable. I sat for ten minutes before being acknowledged, and when I finally asked for a menu, it was tossed toward me with visible irritation. Ordering a simple seven‑piece lunch seemed to confuse the server, who responded with exaggerated facial expressions that were both rude and unprofessional. My salad and cutlery were delivered with a scowl. I offered a polite "thank you," and received nothing in return -- not even eye contact. This location's staff culture is the polar opposite of Tony's East Quogue and other establishments. Until this team is completely restructured, I won't be returning.
