It's freezing out and I decide I really am in the mood for Soup. I call order 2 soups Tom Yum Goong and Tom Ka Gai . I see under them on the menu. It's only offered in the quart size so I one of each. When I get there? They charge price on the menu and hand me two pints. I pointed out the error and the woman at the counter tells me that it's only offered as a small. I show her the menu and she tells me the menu is wrong and walks into the kitchen. I tried talking with her and each time she walked away. Very poor customer service and the soups lacked the customary ingredients like lemongrass containing only the meat, peppers and onions, mushrooms and the broth was very similar with one containing coconut and the other not. I am sad as I thought this would be my new go to spot.

Reliable Asian Fusion restaurant. Capable of Sushi, Chinese, Thai and all under the same roof. Relaxed comfortable atmosphere. Quickly seated, quickly served, kitchen good at presentation.

    Mixed sushi

I've only ever gotten takeout - great in a pinch. Quick service, consistently high quality, very reasonably priced food compared to local spots, and never a bad meal. I usually stick with their Thai curries or sushi. Tony's is the move - especially if you want a break from over-priced and underwhelming "Italian" food, deep fried seafood, and "new American" overly populating the area.

We ordered take out sushi. The rolls had the appearance, texture and flavor of Styrofoam. Not ever going back.

Big disappointment. Vegetables were old and shriveled. They use scrapes and ends. Yet they ask good money. Soups are BLAND.

(Lunch and dinner specials range from $6-$10) That's the good news. BUT-be prepared for some weird to bad service. We've been here a couple of times. The lunch and dinner specials are a great value. The food is fresh and well cooked. My new husband (from the east end) and I were used to going to the East Quogue location which is a full lounge/bar restaurant. Nice service and extended menu. The Hampton Bays location is for take out and very casual dining. We ordered of the dinner special "to stay" before getting on the road . My husband also ordered a soda and water. The girl put down two cups and rang up a soda and a bottle of water. Tap water my husband said. She took back the second cup and said "this is take out-no cups of water". Really? We placed the order to stay (and diner came on dinner plate and trays). We said we never heard of anything so ridiculous before...she didn't care. Right after we sat to eat the entire staff (about 6 people) came out to eat with us in the dining area....they had glasses of water.

The inside of this space feels very sleek and high end. There's a nice bar and tables in front, as well as a few hibachi tables in the back. The menu here is extensive and truly a fusion of Asian cuisines. Can't decide behind Chinese, Thai, or Japanese food? At Tony's you can have it all. I had been under the weather the previous week, so I opted for some hot and sour soup to kick things off and it was the exact cure I needed. Hot and sour and chock full of mushrooms, it really hit the spot. The pork dumplings were decent as well, and the chicken lettuce wraps were fresh and crisp. I ordered tea as well which came in a kettle and was perfectly brewed. We also tried the Massaman curry which had just the right amount of spice and sweetness to it. This place is pricey, but the portions were huge, so I couldn't even be mad. The service was a bit slow, but again, willing to overlook that if the food is good (which it was). If you've been avoiding this place due to bad reviews, I would say you should reconsider.

This was no written or editted by AI…read more We went to Bao on a recommendation and had the highest hopes. First, the décor was ok--a nice if not admirable try at creating the ambiance of the far east....along with a TV showing high def images and drone footage of the Thai countryside(I think). The lighting was poor, and to address that they put big-boy lamps on the tables...but when we needed more room on the tables and asked them to take the lamp away, I needed to use my phone to see the menu. The noise level was ok and not too cacophonic. The seats were almost comfortable. The service was less than satisfactory and was one of the reasons that this place did not end up with an average score. First, the appetizer and main courses got a little logjammed. Second, they did not have the sense to figure out how to accommodate all the dishes on the tabletop. Next, they seldom came by to check on us and refill glasses and we had to ask several times over for them to bring us more peanut sauce. The most significant transgression though came just before the finish line. We sat, and sat, and sat, and sat some more awaiting our check. Finally, I got up and summoned a passerby waiter to run our charge. The food was meh. The Larb (chicken) was a nice portion and cooked perfectly, but the chicken pieces were underseasoned, bland and i had to force myself to eat them. The lettuce was so stiff that it could not roll up the mined chicken and onions and the contents spilled all over my shirt and table. That was a harbinger. Let's move to the Massaman Chicken. It was more of a liquid than a sauce. Having made the dish many a time, this comes from a little too much coconut milk and not reducing the sauce for enough time. Sometimes it comes from rushing--but this is speculation. The chicken was cut into pleasant morsels and was a little rubbery and dry, the onions were nice and soft and tasty, and the potatoes were cooked just right. The proportions of the solid ingredients felt about right. The Pad Thai--frankly it was ok...or almost ok. The noodles were cooked properly, and the red sauce was new for me in that when I order it at a restaurant or make it at home, the default is brown from higher amounts of soy sauce. The other ingredients in the Pad Thai were scant--very little chicken, for instance, but other ingredients were sparse too. I saw a small pile of bean shoots and carrots and perhaps someone should have mixed it all up first (kitchen vs. customers) but by the time the dish made its way to me it was basically noodles. The Pad Se Ew was not a winner. It was off. First, it might have been overcooked or under-seasoned, but it was not right. Also, too, there were too many veggies and other ingredients and too little or few noodles. This dish can be made many different ways, and the sauce can be a serious and conscientious build--this seemed to be not so complex and put together rather hastily. The spring rolls are not your typical Chinese-restaurant-takeout-fried-egg roll style deliverable. The presentation was much more sophisticated and elegant, and they looked like works of art. I did not try them but the diners I was with did--and they said they tasted just as as they looked. There was a bit of food left over...some of the other folks I dined with asked for containers to bring them home-- I told them they needed to have their head examined... The service was a 1-2, the ambiance was a 2, all the dishes were 2s--maybe after a few drinks I'd give them a 2.5. Overall, if an average is 3, this was below that, so they get a 2.

Prices are astronomical for not only the portion size but also the quality. Basic curries start at $32 and if you want any protein (chicken, beef, seafood) it easily is $36-40+ for one single curry dish. They ought to offer financing options for their outrageous prices. It's almost remarkable how someone is able to cook beef so old and dry in a vat of curry broth but surprisingly it can be done! The beef tasted like it was definitely old and cooked very dry. Not even seared just dry. It's borderline criminal to serve food this bad for this much money. The curry itself, beef aside, was just a pile of bamboo chutes, a few bell peppers and a frugal driblet of broth. Any other Thai restaurant on the island you get 10x the quality for $15. Thai ice tea was good, but overall incredibly disappointing. Wouldn't recommend until they change up the kitchen/menu prices. If you're incredibly enthusiastic about a $36 bowl of bamboo chutes, this place is for you.

The Soon Doo Boo was very tasty and had a little kick. Not as much as I would like but very close to what I would expect. The Jap Chae flavor was good but it did not have any spinach and not enough of other vegetables; but as I said, pretty tasty. The place is pretty roomy so would probably not need to wait for a table. The rest of the food were mostly misses, the worst being the Kalbi. The flavor was a little too sweet but in a teriyaki sauce kind of way, not the Korean pear/sugar/soy sauce way. The seafood pajeon was too burnt and did not have any seafood, almost all batter. The banchan was ok but the kimchee was a little too ripe. Service was a little show because they were short staffed according to our waiter. So all in all, just not a great experience. I would probably be a little more lenient but prices are similar to Flushing/Bayside even though I would assume their overhead was lower.
