Came here for lunch a few weekends ago. Was a quick in and out with friends locally - this place is good for that. I liked the aesthetic and the staff was nice. Food was OK at best. Some items were good while others weren't. Best thing we had were the burrito bowls. I believe I got carne asada and cauliflower rice with all the fix-ins. It was great. They brought out a bunch of hot sauces, which was nice. Other people got the barbacoa bowl and an assortment of tacos. The tacos weren't very good in my opinion. The fried fish one was best. Room was pretty nice, though the musical shift from AC/DC to corrida was a little jarring. Food, not so much. Shrimp taco was pretty good, cauliflower taco was bland and uninteresting, street corn was genuinely grim...I sincerely hope it wasn't frozen corn, but I'm really questioning it. I went here with my Uncle and Aunt. They come here often, and got a waitress that they love and seemingly so does everyone there. I didn't catch her name but she is very friendly and it seems like the rest of the waiters/waitresses are too. The food is delicious and reminds me of a healthier version of chipotle because I got a bowl. The restaurant is small but uses the space well. We got churros to go which were also delicious with their Spanish-style chocolate sauce and sugary churros. read more

Food and service are just average, and for the prices we expected better. Firstly, I had asked to try the cauliflower rice as I was thinking about getting the bowl but was undecided. Instead of being accommodating, the waiter said, "I doubt we'd be able to do that." Totally get it if that's the case, but it was such a simple ask -- the restaurant should be able to do things like this if it means garnering a more loyal clientele. (In regards to the cauliflower rice, I would definitely say it's not worth getting after ordering). Second, our drinks didn't come until we were halfway done with our meal which, again, was just average. The bowl looked amazing as it came out (I got the El Pollo bowl), but tasted like nothing. We had also ordered the corn first which similarly took a lot of hot sauce/salt/pepper in order to taste fine. Again, for paying the prices they ask, you would expect better. I've waited to eat here 3 times before reviewing. Wanted to love this new restaurant, after all, it's Mexican food - BUT - it's always off. The Cowboy salad didn't have enough chicken in it to warrant the price - disappointing. First time in my life I did not finish the chips or my quesadilla! Was happy to see they added quesadillas to the menu but something was off. My friend didn't finish his either. Also, the fun part should be the chips (which you pay for) - why so thick and hard? Thick yet they'd still break when trying to scoop the mediocre plain guacamole. Never in my life have I not finished chips! Maybe I should be thanking you. I won't be returning. ELTACOBAR is easily the best restaurant on Main Street in Sag Harbor. The staff is so welcoming and care about giving the customers an excellent experience. The food and drinks are delicious. I stopped in for a quick bite and ended up staying for three hours because the restaurant is so friendly and welcoming. The bartenders Nick, Jaggar, and Xavier were great and very pleasant to talk to. We also had Louis helping to serve us and he was a top tier waiter! always checking up and making sure things were going well. Awesome margs and tacos! The birria tacos, fish taco and the lobster special taco were all so good! The chips and guac were great especially with the salsa. All the margs were delicious! This place seemed promising, yk normal Mexican restaurant, usually places like this are pretty good. The service is horrendous, the waiter kept getting orders wrong. For a place known as a "taco bar" there are few tacos on the menu. When we asked for a small change from rice to rice they said "you'll have to order it separately". The food was decent, the steak was tender and juicy and the chips were crispy and flavorful. But the fish came out dry. Not too mention they gave everyone their food at different times! So there was no wait for food and it was fresh but the time in between the food coming out was terrible! We got one meal and the next would take 10 more minutes to come out.
