Local American restaurant located in Sag Harbor. We came as a large group on a Wednesday evening a the ambiance was bustling. I ordered the flounder which lasted a bit lacking in flavor, but maybe that more on me for trying to be healthy. The cod bites were good, calamari not bad. Decent place, nice local crowd & the bar tender was friendly. Best thing about this place is the inside/location. Old school east end feel with a great view. The wings are much like Elbow II in Laurel. The breaded food service delivery brand, just add your own sauce. I didn't have a chance to try a burger or any of their other specials, I'll feel that might bump them up to four stars. read more

We had a great late lunch today at the corner bar! This place is always a good stop for some delicious pub food. I started with the French Onion soup which was perfect and sweet too! For lunch we ordered the pepper jack grilled cheese, the Rachel sandwich with sweet potatoe fries and the beer buttered c I'd fish n chips. All dishes were perfect and delicious. A very enjoyable hole in the wall with a very old school and welcoming feel. We sat at the bar where our bartender was very helpful and attentive. We were immediately offered drinks and menus as well as explained the specials of the day. All of the food was delicious, the drinks were cold, and we had great seats. It's not an uppity townie spot, it's got a very local waterfront feel like you want to stop in for some beers after a long day of fishing. If you want to avoid snobby tourists, this is your spot. If you don't want to be ripped off and pay tourist prices, this is your spot. Definitely a fan. read more

This local bar is a nice respite from the pomp and circumstance that has overrun Sag harbor. You can still get a beer and wings, hang with some locals, chat up a fishing boat captain, or but a ber for the crew of a yacht parked in the harbor. Service is fast and friendly. Wings are decent. Very cool local bar vibe. Patrons were mainly local, but a few tourists like us. I saw some comments about the service, but we did not experience anything negative. Our server was really good. We had the French onion soup : A, Chili with "the works" on the side: A-, Caesar Salad: A, the special Prime Rib sandwich: A-, and a side of onion rings: A. Had to go in to enjoy a proper lobster roll. Right next to the water it just seemed right to order it. Pretty decent sized place inside with maybe a 15 people bar. Ordered 2 margaritas and this bad boy here. Bread was lightly toasted and packed with chunks of lobster. It was so damn good and I wanted another one. Fries were very crispy and flaky. 10/10 on this dish for sure. read more

We both had valid IDs, but the guy at the bar not only rejected my friends ID, WHICH WAS REAL, but was also extremely rude and demanded we leave immediately. Not only did this bar lose business by not knowing how to validate an ID, but they were extremely rude to people willing to be paying customers. I had the beer batted cod fish and chips $27.00 I was very disappointed it was mostly batter and very little codfish. My service almost non existent, after a long while I couldn't find my waitress and I I had to get up and look for my meal. We even asked for take out boxes that did come but without a bag to put them in. You guessed it I had to find someone who could help me get a bag, of course I couldn't find the waitress... Came here for lunch last week. Baked clams casino- first time ever having it with cheese on top of it. Salty, not bad. Fried chicken sandwich special was mediocre. My sister had flounder which she said was good. The service was AWFUL. Waiter had no clue what came with what, kept asking us what we ordered (??) and had the young miserable hostess come to us with a nasty attitude. The girl was so unfriendly, miserable faced and unbelievably discourteous. Ambiance is plain, not so clean. When you enter the place there is no greeting, nothing. They must still do well just because it is in a noticeable corner location, and the tourists need a place to eat. Whoever is in charge obviously could care less about cutomer service. The Corner Bar was exactly what we needed during the event Harbor Frost that Sag Harbor was throwing. It was warm (except when people held the doors open), with a great view of the harbor from the corner window (which we were lucky enough to score). The bar area gets jam packed but the bartenders appeared to handle the crowd well. I had a turkey burger which was delicious, along with an order of sweet potato fries which were just as good. They have a decent beer list but nothing really stood out to me so I had a whiskey & Diet Coke. Their disco clams were great - topped with bacon & cheese. The prices are fair considering you're in a pricey area. There was a wait for a table but we were seated within 10 minutes. Service is friendly. The restrooms are tiny but clean. The crowd here doesn't get too rowdy and even sang along to a few songs playing in the background. Definitely the place to check out next time you're in the area. read more

This is an inexpensive and convenient place to grab a bite and a drink without paying through the nose in Sag Harbor. I don't know how they can produce a "Famous Corner Bar Berger" that is both fatty and tasteless at the same time. The folks here are very nice and the beer is good and cold. The location is perfect. A very popular spot where locals come to meet, eat and have a good time. Many locsl beers are available and the flounder sandwich was top shelf. My buddy had a Corner Burger and said it was fair. We have had great experiences here in the past, however, our last couple experiences have not been so great. It took about 20 minutes to even get menus and water, understood that they are busy, but it was a ridiculously long wait. But more importantly, the food was not good at all. The clam chowder, if that's what it can be called, with water down and nasty. This is a really great place to go to eat. It was better than we expected. My beet salad was absolutely delicious - lots of beets, pistachios and dried cherries. Decent enough place, but I was disappointed in the service. Let me begin with saying my family came in for a quick lunch in late June and were very happy with the food. Their outdoor seating was very clean and well kept. Those are MAJOR positives for me. Here's the issue - while our server came to our table pretty quickly, she seemingly had the personality of a piranha. No smile, no greeting other than "what drinks can I get for you." No friendly hello, how are you, no conversation....nothing. We had 4 and one was a couple of minutes later being seated. The server made it seem like we were irritating her by making her wait to take out order By waiting for our 4th. Having pointed out all of the issues with that - she was a good server otherwise. She just didn't have the right personality for a server, or perhaps - she was just having a bad day. Either way - the food was good. As it was a light lunch; I had the French Onion soup was REALLY good! My wife had the Lobster bisque and she really enjoyed it and my dad had their Mac and cheese bites, which were great as well. They had a small selection of local brewery beers on draft and I really like it when places carry the local beers, so that was a plus as well. Overall it was a good meal. I figure it this way - about half of the experience of dining out is the server and it seemed very lacking, at least to me. The reality is that my review is really more like a 3.5 stars, and if the service had been better it would have added a full star. Lastly I will say that the other servers working the outdoor seating were much more friendly and pleasant, which we could tell from overheating their conversation with other tables around us. Maybe you'll get a friendlier server and then none of what bothered me will even come up for you. read more

We stopped in here after Harborfest and it was delightful. Waited for about 5 minutes for an outside table because we had a puppy, seated promptly and the food and drinks were great! The burger I had was exactly what I was craving after two days of Harborfest finger food. Prices were very reasonable considering where we were. Went out to the Montauk area spur of the moment last weekend. Drove through Sag Harbor and it looked like a quaint town with some shopping and restaurants so we parked and wandered upon this little gem of a bar. Sat at a table outside by the sidewalk and didn't expect more than bar food. What we got was exactly that but better. The cod in the fish and chips wasn't the thin kind that you get in a Mrs. Paul's box. It was thick and flakey inside and very moist. The batter had a nice crunch to it. The fries were very crispy and as good as fries can get. The vegetable medley was awesome as well. My daughter ordered the grilled cheese with bacon and tomato. Fantastic! I'll no doubt go there again. The staff was super nice as well. read more

I'm giving this place 4 stars because it usually is 4 stars but my most recent visit has prompted me to question that rating. The corner bar is usually a local, friendly, and affordable, pub-like eatery that consistently has good food and cheap drinks. However, during my most recent visit with friends, I was a bit disappointed. For starters, they drastically reduced the amount of calamari in the appetizer. The price hasn't changed, which is pretty fair for the typically heaping portion of calamari that is served, but now the amount has been halved and served in a much smaller dish. This time it felt like a very small amount for the price. Now, of course, this is typical for the Hamptons - small portions and high prices. Yet the corner bar is not your typical Hamptons restaurant. It's a tavern that is more similar to a Minnesota Sports Bar than a fancy, Hamptons eatery - the kind of place that might warrant these prices. The other thing that disappointed me about this restaurant was that when one of my friends ordered a tequila soda, the waiter rang it in as Casamigos - an expensive tequila that one usually has to ask for. When someone asks for a tequila soda and doesn't specify a tequila, they should be served a rack tequila, not Casamigos, for sure. This made his drink $5 more expensive than it should have been and we only caught this when we got the receipt. I know for some people this might seem like a small expensive that isn't worth complaining about, but the nice thing about the corner bar is that it is an affordable refuge in the midst of some very expensive restaurants. The service is very casual and relaxed and the menu is strictly pub- seafood, so I think one should expect lower prices and honest service. read more

Went tonight and everything seemed normal until 57 minutes passed after we ordered reg items from the menu and I asked where our orders were. The bartender was on the defensive and started to give me a hard time. I know this place. Small kitchen, but ample enough to handle diners there. I almost give up re people and their attitudes. It's a shame as this place is a great spot in Sag Harbor. The female bartender there really needs training. read more

I've been coming to Corner Bar for years, and it rarely disappoints. In an area where everything can seem new and nothing can seem home town-y, this joint stands out. Solid food (don't expect fancy), great barkeep, comfy atmosphere and a gang of regulars make it one of my favorite places in the Hamptons. It seems to be a popular place for the locals, especially to catch a Yankee game. I was only here for the drinking part which was quite good. They had Black seal rum so I had to have a few Dark n' Stormys. And to my surprise, because i have only seen it in bottles, they had Palm on tap. Its a great Belgian beer. A good place to have a few drinks and without any of the nonsense one might find out here or in Manhattan. I am just looking to get a few drinks.
