We were in Sag Harbor for the day and stopped at The Corner Bar for a late lunch. The outdoor dining area was pleasant and well kept. I ordered a tunafish salad sandwich - a standard menu item. I was blown away by how good this was. The bread (toasted rye) was clearly freshly baked bakery bread - the best bread I ever had with a sandwich. The tuna salad was also delicious. The sandwich came with lettuce and tomato and it wasn't iceberg lettuce, it was a delicious dark green lettuce. It also came with potato chips (you could choose from among many other choices). Others in my party ordered clam strips, Manhattan clam chowder, burger with blue cheese, salad with grilled shrimp. Everyone was more than satisfied. If I'm in Sag Harbor again I will make sure to stop at The Corner Bar. read more

It seems to be a popular place for the locals, especially to catch a Yankee game. I was only here for the drinking part which was quite good. They had Black seal rum so I had to have a few Dark n' Stormys. And to my surprise, because i have only seen it in bottles, they had Palm on tap. Its a great Belgian beer. A good place to have a few drinks and without any of the nonsense one might find out here or in Manhattan. I am just looking to get a few drinks. Never written a review and this is the first place that has warranted the effort. Server was immediately unwelcoming when we sat asking for water saying "oh my god it's 9 people". Then came back for our orders asked 3 out of 9 people for their order and said "is that it?" without even going around the table for orders. Was rushing us the entire time after we have only been seated for an hour and towards the end we order a few Irish coffees and he says do you really want that we have a line for this table (meanwhile there is zero line). I've never tipped $0 before and would have if it wasn't already automatically included due to table size. We spoke to the apparent manager and left into the pouring rain. As we wait under the overhang for the rain to die down, a server/bartender comes out to scold us for leaning on their flower bed (if that was actually the case our apologies for squeezing under the overhang during a torrential downpour) and proceeds to call me an asshole. What a joke after the experience we just had spending about $500 in an hour. He said we pay a lot of money for these flowers, which has to just be a snob statement if you look at pictures of the face of their building with the drooping flower boxes. Food was good, employment was a group of scumbags. Lastly, by the time the rain died down and we left, the table we'd sat at was still empty. read more

Just giving you a heads up, I came in for lunch today with my children and asked for one refill on my ice tea and was charged for two ice teas. I questioned the young male waiter. You charged me for two ice teas when I requested one refill, his response, yes because we didn't have a lot of ice tea left. What?! Or does he just think I'm some stupid single mom that doesn't know any better. Ok whatever, I will take one of those $3.00 ice teas out of the 20% tip I am customary to leaving. Great spot to grab a burger, even if you're with plant-eaters! (The quinoa and mushroom burger was enjoyed by my veggie daughter and my meat-loving mom.) my Corner Burger was a good solid great tasting burger and so were the fries. My Dad's chili was very tasty as well. A little "soupy" (he wished it were thicker but the taste made up for it), a little sweet and had a nice kick. read more

This is our first time to the Hamptons and this bar did not disappoint. The locals were friendly and gave us suggestions on what to do. We ordered the clam casino appetizer and it was amazing! The service was OK but we weren't in a hurry so that wasn't a big deal. It is definitely a local spot. read more

TRUE RATING - ***1/2 The perfectly titled Corner Bar provided a solid lunch offering for a Friday afternoon. Somewhat slow hard edge service (other guests seated later received food first) wasn't really a bother as waiting was worth it. The Cajun Fried Flounder sandwich was perfectly fresh and tasteful. The Salmon sandwich special was another home run as was the BLT and sizeable Turkey Club. Everything was enjoyed. The dark blue collar interior may seem a touch out of place in Sag Harbor. Nothing special here, I have no idea how it got great reviews. The food was bland and flavorless. Three of us ordered the crabcake plate. The crabcakes boasted super lump crab, nothing like that in them. The filling was shredded crab from a can, WAY too much pimento (lay off the pimento) and the crumbs were dry and over done. Tasted like a frozen crabcake. The 4th member of our party ordered the fish and chips and was sorely disappointed. The fish too was bland and had no flavor. The calamari for the appetizer was ok, but not crispy. Really a huge disappointment for Sag Harbor and we'd never go there again. Cute country-like bar with relatively cheap food and solid selection of beer. Came here ~6pm on Thursday; we were able to sit wherever and the servers were incredibly friendly! We each got a beer (~$7) and had the mac & cheese bites (slightly spicy due to pepperjack cheese, and nicely gooey) and a large plate of fries (really, quite large for $7)! Love this place.. Considering how over the top extravagant and posh the area can be, it's nice to see a local spot that still has a good head on it's shoulders. It's not only a corner bar where locals come in and throw back a few in a friendly and unpretentious environment but, there is seating for perhaps 50 people with some pretty good food.. Let me first off start with the wings.. They are freaking delicious.. Get them with the sauce on the side and these breaded fried chicken like wings come out hot and crispy.. The breading, the seasoning, the chicken meat itself all were spot on. We probably stopped in three times over the last couple of weeks and were always happy.. They have a nice but, limited local beer list. We have gotten and enjoyed the onion rings and the steamed clams.. The fries are also over the top delicious.. They are battered and delicious. Some issues we have had.. We came once and the burger we ordered medium came charred and burnt to shit.. The onion rings were cold..In their defense, we were the first order of the day and we didn't complain or ask for a new burger.. I am sure they would have done it.. My second issue, they claim the crab cake is jumbo lump, or even something more ridiculous like super jumbo lump.. The cake we ordered was shredded back fin mixed with a lot of filler and then deep fried.. We were super disappointed and didn't eat it. But, that aside, the crowd is extremely friendly.. there are tables of older women that come in to lunch, families of all sizes and ages and the staff is just awesome.. First time in Sag Harbor so first time at The Corner Bar. It was the perfect choice for my husband and I for a bowl of loaded chili, a hot dog, and New England clam soup. A mid-day snack. If you want a "Friends type" atmosphere, this is the place to go. Food was yummy, cold beer and great cocktails. Wonderful place! Tap beers were ICE cold..appetizers we had were boneless buffalo chicken (a special that day) perfectly seasoned and crispy, baked clams & crab cakes were amazing! Roast beef melt was sooo good! Prices were extremely reasonable given their location. To make a great place even better, our waitress, Maeve was so attentive to us the entire time, every time we were almost finished with our Blue Moon's, she was already asking if we wanted another, our appetizers came out quick and we were not rushed at all to put in our lunch order. She provided amazing service, which made our lunch even better. Maeve even gave us directions to a wonderful beach that was nearby so we could hang around and watch the beautiful sunset! Loved this place. While it wasn't our first option, every other place was closed so we ended up here. Thank goodness! The kitchen was about to close, so the waitress rushed us in and took our order in a hurry. I understand though, I've been a waitress myself and I know how difficult it can be when you're ready to clock out and people keep rushing in. I ordered a cup of chili. One of the most spiciest and delicious chilis I've ever tried. Served with sour cream and crackers, of course. I also had the crab cake sandwich in a roll. Super tasty and fresh. The chips were moist and not good, though. My friend ordered the House burger, but got a cheeseburger instead. She could've complained, but once she tried it she didn't want to give it away: it was that good. The fries were amazing too. I know because I stole most of them, haha! Came in for a later lunch, to a nearly dead house. We had really prompt and speedy service, with very fresh food. Ordered onion rings as an appetizer--breading was crispy and onions were cooked well. May have actually been one of the better onion rings I've tasted! Quite bland for the breading, no spices or seasonings. My entree was a hamburger, wrapped in lettuce, and sweet potato fries. The majority of the burgers came with chips as the side and any fry substitution was $3-$4 extra. Unfortunately the meat patty was also not seasoned, and it didn't taste like anything special. Came in after a long day a friend recommended it. Staff was pleasant and attentive but the food, alas the food. I wanted a burger and heard there's was pretty good and their fries were great. I ordered the corner burger special which had sautéed mushrooms and onions. When asked how I wanted it cooked I asked for medium well. Food arrived in a timely fashion and to my surprise I was greeted with a soggy bottom bun topped with a charred bun smothered in canned mushrooms tossed with onions. I cut the burger in half and as I was cutting into the hard exterior I had hoped the inside had been spared the over cooking. Not so. The meat was rubber and was not seasoned. No amount of ketchup couple help that burger taste better. The one redeeming quality on the plate. The French fries. Perfectly cooked and properly seasoned. Ok we had two VERY different experiences here. Seems like a great lunch place, and where some locals hang out. The food was fine, nothing to go crazy over, but yummy enough to hit the spot, and for the right price....if your not looking for a 200.00 dollar meal :) Experience 1.) Rudest bartender ever. If you hate the non locals then don't work there in the summer months. Thank God she didn't realize we were with the horse show as she bad mouthed in a very vulger way her disdain over the Hampton Classic. So after getting my drink and a roll of the eyes when I asked for a cup of ice, we had to wait to order.....and wait.....and wait.......they have an ok selection of beer and a full bar. Got our food pretty speedy and it was good, i had the fish n chips, and my guy had a burger. We sat and had a few beers as out house still had no power and water from the hurricane. (yeah we stole water from out neighbors pool to flush the toilets). We paid out tap to the evil wench and found Murf's....which is awesome Experience 2.) Did not go to the bar, sat in the dining area. Super funny and sweet waitress, she was cool as hell. Had a great dinner, she even told me not to get the steamers as they were not what I was looking for, tried the wings and they were great. FYI there salad dressing are awesome. Believe it or not, this bar is right on the corner. Growing up, my family used to come here quite often. We - the young tots just coming up in the game - got some good food out in the town, while my parents got absolutely shit-hammered. Not much has changed - it seems like it's still not a bad place to bring a family - but I am far more focused on the being shit-hammered part; and the Corner still delivers where most other places have given into a economy driven by tourism and stupid shit that people actually from here don't care about. Late at night, during the week, in the middle of the winter, you can't beat it for a placed to slowly get hammered. Highly reccommend. read more

I've only been here twice but the things I got here has always been good. The first time I came here with a friend of mine over the summer for a drink and apps. We got their Buffalo Shrimp and onion rings. Holy moly. Their Buffalo Shrimp was awesome. I just went there again today and ordered their Macaroni and Cheese bites and hot wings. Hot wings were great but the Mac and Cheese bites...that deserves a HOLY SHIT THIS STUFF IS AMAZING. lol Very simple apps but it hit just the spot. I was looking around at everyone getting actual meals and it all looked great. I like the vibe in here. Casual and cozy. The staff was great and just a great spot to go with a friend to catch up or just to wander in by yourself for a guiness and something fried haha and maybe catch some football.
