Stopped in for dinner during Santa's Side Bar and wasn't disappointed. Slimmed down menu, but seemed to have something for everyone. There was also a fun festive drink menu. Hurry up before they close for the winter season!!!

Came here for outdoor seating and ambiance and it did not disappoint. The staff were nice though and bit disorganized with service and attention. My friend loved the shrimp risotto that she got and I thought the menu had a nice array of things. It was a typical price point for what you would expect to pay in Aspinwall. But I was expecting more of a casual menu for the restaurants aesthetic. It was a just a little fancier than I expecting. I will say I wasn't in love with the grilled cheese that I got. The cheese was pretty bland and it ended up not really tasting like anything. The tomato and basil they put on it were scarce. For a $13 grilled cheese I was expecting more. the sweet potato fries were really good. Idk...I know a grilled cheese is not the wisest order, but I feel like it's something that's pretty difficult to mess up. I do want to go back to try the lamp lollipop entree, but I would definitely recommend avoiding the grilled cheese, and if you're not looking to spend, I would recommend going somewhere else

We went recently for the first time and DANG I think this was the best burger I ever had. Steak burger on focaccia bread with their own brewed IPA. Big fan. Our server was great and our food and drinks all came out quick. The best part is the porch really makes you feel like you're eating at home, it's just such a cozy environment. Can't wait to come back!

Ended up sitting inside because it was so hot out. The inside is small and has a funny smell. Our waiter, I think Louis, was great, but besides the cooks, he seemed to be the only other person actually working. I ordered the small plate ravioli, and it was pretty good. Hubs had the grill cheese sandwich. Sadly it's a place that wants to be up scale and it's just not, the prices are way higher then need be for the small menu; it's ashame because the food was good and service was good but the woman that was sitting at the small inside bar kept going and getting money out of the register then getting candy from some place outside. I'm not sure if she just works there or is an owner. There was definitely a weird vibe. I'd eat the food again but doubt we will be back. If they just tweaked a few things, it would probably be a great place but was just ok.

I'm obsessed with the charming Aspinwall neighborhood so I was very excited to try Luke & Mike's Frontporch located on one of its commercial streets for dinner on a gorgeous Spring Wednesday evening in mid-April. To avoid traffic on construction-filled Route 28, our party of five met for a 6:30 reservation. Inside is bar seating for a handful of people and a handful of sit-down tables. It's a modern decor with a stone fireplace as a focal point. I ordered a cocktail and two items from the small bites menu section as my main course. The service was prompt and friendly. Outside on the wrap around porch and patio, it's a very casual affair as is the attire of the staff. It feels like two different places and the menu is the same way catering to both the casual beer & burger crowd and the fancier ahi tuna and martini crowd. If I lived in this wonderful neighborhood, I'd definitely return to hangout outside.

3.5. ate on the porch and had to move due to cigarette smoke. Yuck. Almost $100 for two without drinks or dessert was more than anticipated or what I thought the meal was worth. Chips and mango salsa was good but untraditional. Wife got seabass which was a very small serving but very nicely presented. Rissotto side dish with peas was very good. I had a seafood pasta with shrimp. Good not great. Not sure I'll be back. Aspinwall pricing I guess.

The outdoor vibe at this restaurant is AWESOME. An outdoor bar, deck and patio seating make up the outside area. The mural on the side of the building depicts the Aspinwall business scene and is so cute! I ordered the Ahi Tuna small plate and it was the perfect bite in the late evening accompanied by some white wine. The waitress was super friendly too! Loved the TVs outside in the bar area to watch sporting events. Parking after 5pm is free at the lot across the street and there is street parking as well!

Very rude. They should do a better job letting people know that they need a reservation on their website. There is no mention until you get to the restaurant. Do yourself a favor and go down the street to Cornerstone. They are very friendly and the food is great.

The fried cauliflower was the best thing on the menu, but unfortunately they took it off! So sad. I have been here probably 5 times and unfortunately, besides the cauliflower, never had anything that I really liked. I've tried burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and tacos. I feel like it's overpriced for the quality. When I went a couple weeks ago, I got pesto pasta with shrimp. It was incredibly oily and not seasoned well. Sometimes I get drinks that are great, and sometimes they seem to be not so fresh. On the upside, the ambiance is great! It's beautiful and peaceful. I would go here again just because it's convenient for a friend and myself, on a nice day, and to grab a drink and maybe something to snack on. If they up their food game, it would be a killer spot!

ABSOLUTE PERFECTION FROM START TO FINISH 10/10!…read more Perfection. Everything about Talbots is absolute perfection. I eat A LOT of food, and one common denominator I see among top-tier restaurants is that the owners and management are a direct reflection of the overall experience, quality, and taste. Talbots is no different. We felt right at home from the moment we walked in. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, like lifetime friends. Our waitress, Teresa, was fantastic. She passed all the vibe checks and matched our energy immediately, all the signs of a veteran server you want guiding you through one of the best eating experiences of your life. She gave us her recommendations and left us to decide. We knew we were here for the #hashtagyouwont 36oz ribeyes, but we wanted to see what else was recommended since everything looked and sounded amazing. We decided to order a lot of food, almost everything that was recommended. This will be a bit of a long-winded review, but I'm sure the true foodies will appreciate it, so here we go: THE APPETIZERS The Brie: How can brie be so good that it deserves to be talked about first? I have no idea, but it was excellent. The strawberry-jalapeño jam, brie, candied pecans, baby naan, and fruit just worked so well together. An absolute hit. Pork Cheek Tacos: These melted in your mouth and exploded with flavor. They were also a really decent size, we were expecting little bite-sized tacos on a dumpling wrapper, but got two substantial tacos instead which was a pleasant surprise. Naan Bombs: Flat out delicious, and there were enough in the serving for everyone to have a few. Duck Wontons: So unique and flavorful. These were like little empanada explosions of flavor. THE MAIN EVENT: THE 36OZ RIBEYE When I tell you this was a perfect steak, this was a perfect steak. Cooked medium rare, oozing with flavor, and charred to absolute perfection on the outside. That is no easy feat with a cut this size, but somehow Talbot and crew made it seem like a walk in the park. Hidden under the steak, soaking up all the juices, are the house cut fries. I forgot they were even there because of the sheer size of the meat! By the time I discovered them, they were soaked with steak juice, but somehow remained crispy and soggy at the same time. It was brilliant, the fries almost had a poutine like aspect to them. Magnificent, completely unique, and made so much sense. As for the side of corn salad.... absolutely mind blowing. It just looked like corn with some sauce on it, nothing special at all. I am so sorry I underestimated you, Mr. Corn Salad. My God, this stuff was amazing. It didn't make sense to me, but I didn't care, I just kept shoveling it into my mouth. DESSERT We saved room for dessert (of course) and got three: The Chocolate Cake: A plate of pure, chocolaty goodness. Pecan Sweet Potato Pie: Spectacular. Coconut Cream Cheesecake: Wow. I am a sucker for coconut and cream cheese anything, and this checked every single box. THE VERDICT Throughout the night, we watched Talbot go up to each table to check in on everyone, and the chef even came out to talk to us. It was an absolute perfect meal top to bottom, start to finish. You can tell how much this entire establishment cares about what they do, and it is a direct reflection on the food. It's not often I can say a meal is flawless, so I have to give them their flowers in a long well deserved review. Five stars, two thumbs up, and a standing ovation for Talbots Taproom. P.s. Extra kudos for all the cool art and overall atmosphere. There is a ton of stuff to do outside as well but we were there on a chilly night so remained inside. We saw a patio, disc golf, and all sorts of other activities, even a tree house. We can't wait to make the hour trip again and enjoy all they have to offer once summer is in full swing!

Steak was well seasoned and cooked properly. I had the Asian BBQ, Nobody Likes a Party Pooper. Everything tasted pretty good but was all cool. NOTHING came out hot. Owned by longtime locals John and Melanie Dober, it positions itself as a warm, community-focused spot blending upscale comfort food with a welcoming vibe--think handcrafted sandwiches, premium Black Angus steaks, fresh seafood, flatbreads, and daily specials, all with thoughtful wine and bourbon selections. We were excited for what promised to be a polished neighborhood gem, and in many ways, it delivered. The food was genuinely great and the clear highlight. Our dishes were flavorful, well-executed, and creative without being fussy--fresh ingredients shone through, portions were generous, and everything arrived hot and beautifully plated. It's easy to see why so many reviewers rave about the crab cakes, steaks, and chef specials; the kitchen clearly knows what it's doing. This is elevated American fare that feels special yet approachable, and we'd happily return just for the meals. That said, a few aspects fell short and left us feeling the overall experience wasn't quite as seamless as the food deserved. First and foremost, the billing transparency issue was disappointing. They add a 3% bank/credit card processing fee to the check (which adds up quickly on a family dinner), but this isn't disclosed on the menu, at the table, or in any obvious way during the ordering process. There's only a small sign posted outside the restaurant. We only noticed it when the bill arrived, and it felt like an afterthought rather than a clear policy. In an era where many restaurants are upfront about surcharges (or absorb them), this lack of disclosure came across as sneaky and detracted from the otherwise positive value perception. The atmosphere was another mixed bag. The space itself is attractive--soft lighting, comfortable seating, and that friendly "upscale brew pub" energy the owners aim for. However, it was noticeably noisy during our evening visit. Conversations required raised voices, especially as the dining room filled up, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the meal fully. OpenTable rates the noise as "moderate," but on our night it tipped louder than that, possibly due to the layout or lack of sufficient sound absorption. A bit more attention to acoustics could make a big difference. Service was mostly attentive and efficient, but the management interaction stood out in a negative way. When we politely mentioned the surprise fee at the end of the meal, the response was an apology that felt scripted and insincere--like it had been delivered many times before without real follow-through or ownership. It didn't leave us feeling heard or valued as guests. On a brighter note, the owners John and Melanie genuinely come across as lovely people. The restaurant has that personal, homegrown touch you can sense even when they're not physically present, and locals speak highly of them. They were absent during our nighttime visit, though, which is understandable for owners juggling a busy operation--but their warmth is missed when the front-of-house team is handling everything solo. In summary, Wexford Public excels where it matters most: the food is consistently excellent and worth the trip on its own. The family-owned charm and diverse menu make it a strong neighborhood choice for special occasions, casual dinners, or even happy hour in the cocktail bar. However, clearer communication about the credit card fee (ideally on the menu or bill upfront), better noise management, and more authentic handling of guest concerns would elevate it from very good to outstanding. We'll likely go back for the cuisine, but with tempered expectations on the finer details. If you're in the Wexford area and prioritize great American plates, it's still a solid recommendation--just check the small print before you pay.
