Just got in from South Carolina. Our server was amazing. They weren't able to make a mai tai but she suggested another drink. Absolutely loved it I think it was fruit rum I'm not sure but it was so good! I had the steak special and my son had the ribeye, delicious. My grandson had the macaroni and cheese. We really enjoyed our meal and atmosphere

We stayed at the Double Tree and to our surprise they have an amazing restaurant attached called Caroline's! I had the Chicken sandwich last night and wow I was blown away. Today I gave the Ruben pierogies a try and they are a 10/10! Must try this place.

While staying at the PIT Airport Doubletree I stopped in here one morning for breakfast. They offer a buffet for $18 (current price as of 6/28/23) and a regular a'la carte menu too. I opted for the breakfast quesadilla from the breakfast menu. They give a carafe of coffee on the table, which was just ok, but wasn't very bold (more watered-down) and was warm, not hot. The quesadillas came out within about 10 mins, which was good for my tight timeline. They tasted decent, nothing special, but definitely tasty. Service was decent... though I will say the ladies working here were very friendly. Not a bad option when staying at this hotel for breakfast. But Egg N'at is right next door and I've been there before, definitely a larger, more creative menu and better execution for breakfast.

    Doubletree Burger with a Salad

Ordered the burger with a salad in stead of fries ($4 up charge). Was pretty impressed with the burger given this is a bar at a hotel near an 'airport'. Cooked to temperature and had a nice char grill and taste to it. The salad was huge so well worth the additional money. It was a clean fresh salad and a good pairing to the burger. I would eat this burger over again, and again. Also ordered two reds to drink. Same reds both times but the second most of come from an older bottle so it was a bit off. The first glass was totally fine and delicious. Service was good and attentive as I sat at the bar. Ambience is okay. Not a huge fan of tile flooring in a bar. A typical for a hotel bar but other than that no major nits.

This restaurant is in the Double Tree Hotel Moon Township, PA. I had the wedge salad and shrimp tacos. The wedge salad had roasted bell peppers which gave it a nice flavor. I loath blue cheese so I opted for the vinaigrette, which was nice. It was topped off with loads of bacon... you know bacon makes everything taste better! The shrimp tacos I did not really like. They were batter fried. I prefer grilled, no batter. My mistake, I took waitress suggestion without reading the menu. Nonetheless, I left 2.25 tacos out of three. The sauce was not so special either. The service was good and the atmosphere was pleasantly casual. Much appreciated after a long day.

Okay, I'm being lazy because I am staying at the hotel. The food here is ok and the service is good. Only problem is the prices are high and you expect better.

I came for lunch after taking the red eye from Los Angeles to Pitt. I wanted to take my mother and father to lunch and we came to Jackson's. We put in our drink order and only one out of three drinks were correct. The bartender had to serve the bar and 7 tables. She worked her ass off with no support. Attached is a picture of the pulled pork we received for reference. We spoke to the chef and he proceeded to blame someone else in the kitchen for the food he is responsible for preparing. STAY AWAY!

Wow, hidden gem in the middle of nowhere. Exciting menu filled with steaks, fish and amazing appetizers. I had a generous portioned wedge salad and the most unique tuna dish with fires raspberries. A flavor I have never experienced before and I want more. They were busy, but the bartender made sure the entire bar was served with the same quick and amazing service. Food was served hot, which even better. Don't miss this place if you are in town!

    Gelato tasting - 3 flavors

Our server nice & polite. But some of the food needs changed. My husband did the tasting menu (courses 1,2,3,4) - While I did not, we both chose the same main course which was some type of shrimp entree. Can't remember what it was called. Not too bad, but nothing over the top since they are supposed to have chefs; shrimp was nice sized. The calamari appeared to be frozen, not freshly breaded. They poured the chili glaze on it which then obviously made it soggy. The salad was kind of two rolled of sections of lettuce with very little dressing drizzled around the plate. Opted for the gelato tasting for dessert. All three flavors were very good. They used to have individual tv's at the booths but they are now gone. But they kept the metal attachment that they sat on there. Weird.

If you are staying at the Doubletree, check it out. Bar menu is reasonable, full menu is pricey. Food is good and fresh. Service was good.

Cozy yet castle like. The service was amazing, but it is a long process. Roughly 2 hours for drinks apps and mains. The food was very good. The steaks taste was good, but for a $75 Delmonico, the expectations were just a little higher. The mashed potatoes and 1000 layer potato were the star of the show. Very buttery very good. The seafood pasta was good and the seafood was fresh and tender. The oysters were good. East and west. The homemade hot sauce was amazing. All in all it was a pretty good experience. The drinks. Smokes old fashioned was very good. The manhattan was also very good. The strawberry spritzer did not get consumed. We didn't like it.

In the end, the sum total…read moreexperience was a solid 4 - good food, great aesthetic/vibe, great server, but the lack of accommodation/hospitality, some of the food, the price point on some of the food were drawbacks. One negative happened *before* we arrived. This special evening was to celebrate the 80th birthday of one of my sisters-in-law. We called to arrange a special dessert plate, etc, in advance, but the young woman who answered instantly told me no and said we could order a dessert and they would put a candle on it. I asked if we could choose a few desserts in advance and have them arranged on a platter with "Happy Birthday" written on it in some way, but again this woman said, "No, we really don't do that." Womp womp. Could've been an easy win. She actually encouraged me to bring an outside dessert and they would put a candle on that. She could've suggested a bottle of champagne or glasses of champagne being delivered to the table in advance, but no. Disappointing to say the least, especially at a restaurant of this caliber. Moving on... When you roll up to this location up a winding road, you get how special/unique Hyeholde is. The Tudor-influence is charming, as is the thoughtful gardening & its romantic evening uplighting. A valet pops out immediately to whisk away your car. (One sis-in-law arrived before they opened & was alarmed at no handicapped parking, but this is clearly why: the valet.) Another negative happened before we entered the restaurant -- the valet informed us that our pretty, small birthday balloon would not be allowed inside. The restaurant door opened as we started toward it - the owner & exec chef (we would learn later) welcoming us. Nice touch. One snag: both my sis-in-laws have some challenges walking/climbing stairs; no one asked the SIL who made her own birthday reservation (at her insistence!) about this. So, the 2 were a bit surprised when told that we would be headed upstairs to dine. While our host seemed somewhat willing to change up our location, there was a handrail up the stairs, so both SIL's opted for the climb. ‍ Our server, Ryan, was great - enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and cheerful throughout. The food: They had just changed to their spring menu, but three of us opted for the creamy mushroom soup, a winter menu holdover. While it was mushroomy and flavorful, I really do prefer my mushroom soup to have a splash of sherry. The artisanal greens with honey pear dressing was fresh and light. We all agreed that the dressing was excellent & the greens crisp & flavorful. (Slight drawback: It's fairly small & very simple; $14 is a bit much for this). The bread plate that came with our appetizers was good. One of my SIL's is a master baker, and she positively sang the praises of the brioche rolls. There's one for each in the party. Drawback: We wanted more and were happy to pay, but Ryan told us that wasn't possible. They only make enough for each person to have one each night. The homemade apple butter was excellent. Star appetizer: Smoked olives (!!!) - it sounds crazy, but all 4 of us could not get enough of these. The Applewood smoked treasures were to die for, especially the massive Cerignola olives. WOAH. The truffle mushroom pasta with chestnut cream was also positively standout. Huge, meaty mushrooms were slathered in a rich, flavorful cream with what seemed like campanelle-type pasta - YUM! Ryan recommended the tuna crudo app/small plate - but we just didn't have room. Next time... Main courses: birthday girl & I ordered the seafood tagliatelle which was excellent. The seafood - a blend of shrimp & scallops - was nestled in a saffron beurre blanc with a hugely flavorful blend of fennel, sun-dried tomatoes, & yummy black garlic. Hubs & other SIL got the Delmonico. Neither would recommend it. It was cooked perfectly but was a bit salty, not terribly juicy, and at ***$75**** - I can confidently say (after tasting a piece) that it was not worth it. The bordelaise sauce was nice, but the multi-layered mille-feuille potato creation - while definitely impressive - was too salty, according to the SIL who ordered it. Wine - we brought our own (bday girl had been saving 2 v special bottles) & paid their $40 corkage fee. Dessert time! Birthday SIL got the Ryan-recommended NY Cheesecake (his fave). First - this isn't NY cheesecake! BUT - it is quite good -- creamy, flavorful with a nice, thin, crunchy Graham cracker crust, and a spoonful of succulent preserved cherries. Ryan even magically stuck a little candle to the plate for our celebration. The standout fave, though, was the special carrot cake -- a creative version with a yummy, coconutty/pineapply ice cream colored with carrot juice and garnished with a crunchy, thin sliver of dried parsnip and carrot. Really good! My other SIL got the passionfruit pavlova and thought it was good (I don't do meringue - so I didn't try it).
