I like this place for the rice balls, but they really need to improve their customer service. Walked in, wasn't greeted, finally had to go to the "waiter" and told him I needed a table. He sat me down and then I waited another 10 mins to order. Waiter came back and said "has anyone taken your order yet?" I said no and he was like okay someone will be right with you, waited another ten minutes and luigi came by to take the order. He's sweet but it's still annoying that everytime I come here I wait so long for service even though there's like one other table occupied. Anyways finally order and every time I come here they always give us complimentary bread. It didn't come out for a while so I asked a older Filipino woman if we could get bread and she was like " oh we don't do that if you order a pizza, it's complimentary only sometimes" which is confusing because I've ordered pizza before and gotten bread but I let it go. Waited a while and finally got my pizza. Food is Mediocre which is why I think they should improve on their customer service. read more

absolutely, love this place! The food is amazing and Luigi is a sweetheart. My husband is a pizza fiend and we went just to try that, but daringly, we tried the rice balls. Love at first bite. Their meat sauce is to die for! We are now at least once a week regulars. The pizza is great, the spaghetti is awesome, ceasar salad is good, garlic bread rocks. Luigi's is good once you realize you aren't going to get serious quality food. It is a little restaurant that doesn't have a computer system or anything fancy like that. But they deliver! And it is one of the best places in Pacifica that delivers. Pizza can range from good to "I'll never order that again" (even though we always do). Pasta and lasagna and eggplant parmesian are "great". (Again, keeping in mind this is not fine dining.) Ceasar salad is OK - we order it every time because it is vegetarian (their green salad isn't!) Be sure to ask for dressing on the side. I don't think they actually think about what it will taste like once you get it. They just throw stuff on top. Waaay too much parmesian cheese on top sometimes. Drivers are nice. They don't always get there quick, but they are pretty honest about how long it will take them. read more

Luigi is so nice, that he even offered me the coupon to keep after i ordered two entrees and a pizza, in case i wanted to come back again. NOW THATS HOW YOU KEEP CUSTOMERS! I ordered the risotto. I don't know if its arborio because it didn't look like risotto i've had from some other italian places but who am i? I don't know the difference from thai, chinese, basmati rice... i also ordered the cannelloni which i ate there. Luigi even told me if i wanted more after i finished, he'd give me some more! WOW! Terrible pizza. Tasted like cardboard and could barely cut it with a fork and knife. Very skimpy on the toppings. Garlic bread was extremely small and burnt... BOTH baskets they brought us. Took 45 min to get our pizza, and they never apologized or explained why (they were NOT busy). Didn't refill drinks. Watched a table not get cleaned up for over an hour. Come here if you want a traditional, Italian home cooked meal. Don't come expecting to have a server at your table because the owner, Luigi himself, is the waiter for each table. He is very nice and starts conversations with everyone. The spaghetti and ravioli is amazing and covered with a delicious meat sauce. The one downside is the restaurant gets very warm throughout the year, which sucks during the summers. However, the food is worth the heat. Most people do take out orders. read more

Great little neighboorhood joint. Have only had the pizza and the chicken parm sandwich, but have had quite a few. The pizza, definately gets loaded with toppings which is important for me. Only complaint is a few times have had to finish cooking it (I like mine well done). The chicken parm was smallish but at 5 bucks you cant go wrong. read more

Ordered lasagna, spaghetti. Everything is extremely dry like it has been a day old or two. Quiet place. Only positive thing i'd have to say.

Service has always been friendly and fast. Have talked to Luigi several times and one young gentleman who works there is always very helpful and always looks likes he is working hard. The rice balls are really delicious and love the garlic bread that they serve when you eat there. I usually order the pizza and the crust has a lot of flavor. Good amount of toppings. Only downside is that the pasta dishes are not al dente so I usually avoid those, although the lasagna is pretty decent. It's not the best Italian restaurant but it's a good local place to go to. read more

Every once in a while I need to be reminded that those giant banners declaring "Voted Best Italian Restaurant" etc. are meaningless. Ordered to go pizza a few years ago for the moving company guys. Four hungry, hard working young men left the pizza uneaten. I tried a slice and understood immediately. Tasted like the cardboard box it came in. Flash forward several years. I decided to give it another shot and went there with a friend and our kids. Horrible quality food, again. Salad was sad , wilted iceberg lettuce and hard, refrigerated bitter cherry tomatoes. The dressing was served in a plastic cup and was disgusting and watery. Entree was no better (manicotti). Kids' milk was sour. The owner came out to our table and showed us the expiration date on the container- meaningless if not stored properly, which of course it wasn't. Son got spaghetti and butter. How do you mess that up? He couldn't manage to swallow a single bite. I tried it. Low quality pasta with margarine. Gross. Atmosphere: like a tacky 80's church potluck in a utility room. Bad acoustics. Very loud. You get the point. Fail on all levels. I hear Luigi is a big community supporter, and that is awesome but makes it's even sadder that this place is so awful. read more

This is one I should have stayed away from. Ordered Lasagna and Spaghetti. Sauce was too rich. Very dark. Had indigestion before I left. Ordered ice tea and I was served tea from the previous day. There was residue at the bottom of my glass. Had to make new tea after mine. This should have been done before it opened for the day. Service was horrible. Had to go up to the front to get bill. Luigi's is a favorite pizza place for us. I'm happy I gave it another try because my first experience was ok but not great. Maybe it was an off night. We had a great dinner tonight. We started off with the rice balls and minestrone soup. Fantastic!! Garlic bread came with everything and that was great. I ordered the meat ball and spaghetti and that was great. My wife had the egg plant parmigiani. She couldn't stop raving how good it was. The service was very good and the waiting time to get our food was just right. We had no complaints on anything including the price which was very reasonable. We recommend this place for the quality and qauntity of food for a very reasonble price. read more

Visiting Pacifica from So. Cal. Found Luigi's on yelp and decided to try it out. Walked in and were actually seated by Luigi himself. It was a Friday night around 7 pm and got seated right away. Within 15 min the place was filled with locals. Very casual. Saw lots of to-go orders & pizza being taken out. We ordered the rice ball however we weren't as impressed with it as all the other yelpers. Ordered meat lasagna, linguini Alfredo w/ chicken, linguini w/ clams and an individual cheese pizza. All the food was delicious. Definitely would go back. One server in the entire restaurant. Good thing we weren't in a hurry because since we ordered a pizza our food order was delayed. That was fine with us because we weren't in a hurry. The server was apologetic throughout our stay. I definitely recommend going here for very good Italian food in a VERY casual environment. My wife's favorite is the Manicotti which is $9.95 I love their pizzas, especially their pizza that are on special each month. For dessert you really ought to treat yourself to one of their homemade Cannoli's at $3.95, it can't be beat. The SSF restaurant closed - so sad - we have not gone to the Pacifica restaurant but assume the food would be the same since Luigi is cooking there. We love Luigi's but usually only order the pizza, rice balls or spaghetti dinner with meatballs because his red sauce IS THE BOMB. We try to order ahead and give them plenty of time to prepare because schools, scouts or other large organizations usually order from him. Many times, we pick up and bring it home unless we have lots of time to dine in. From 1999-2009, we found Luigi and his staff to be energetic, friendly and quick. Now, that magic is dissipating and needs help. Stick with the pizza, rice balls or spaghetti and you won't go wrong. read more

Well...they delivered the wrong pizza, and everything was pretty gross! The rice ball was ok, but the pizza wasn't what we ordered and tasted like a frozen-heat at home meal. This place was the worst Italian restaurant I've ever been to! Me and my cousin and his girlfriend get they they say seat yourself. We sit wait for ten minutes no one brings us a menu or anything my cousin gets us menus from the front. We're deciding what we want and waiting for service. We see Luigi and the waitress helping everyone else and just over looks us.Luigi gives bread baskets out to all tables except to ours. So we go to the front to order togo. They say it will be 25 minutes,we wait outside and then go back inside after 30 minutes and ask if it's ready, the guy at the front says 2 more minutes,we say okay and wait in the chairs by the door. It was an hour wait and the delivery guy said your still here it's a simple order. Finally we get our food sit in the car to eat it and it was horrible I had fettuccine Alfredo and the noodles were hard and the sauce all watery. The pesto my cousin got was blan no flavor his girlfriend got lasagna it was blan but she ate it anyway. The only thing that was good was the rice balls that's it! It's been difficult over the years finding good restaurants in Pacifica, affordable, consistently good, with Luigi the owner personally making sure his customers are happy.
