We've been going to Luigi's for about 3 years now. The food is excellent and a good value. It is family friendly and the owner is very accommodating if you have an allergy or preference. He makes his garlic bread from pizza dough, and it's outstanding. Since we can't eat garlic, he makes it plain for us, and it's just as good. Recently, I have had events for 50 people catered by him. He delivered to the city free of charge, his prices were very reasonable, and the food was wonderful. We've done ravioli and veggie lasagne, both a big hit. I particularly love his manicotti. The pasta is fresh and it is full of cheese with a nice amount of sauce, in addition to coming with a side of steamed veggies and bread. His pastas are fresh and the sauces are good too. All in all, a very good value and a good meal. It may not be what gourmets are looking for, but this is about good pizza and a local business doing good things for the community and having a lot of pride in his product. read more

Since Round Table Pizza closed and reopened it is NOT the same and has went down hill. I know eat Luigi's. The pizza and the rice balls are good. If you order the rice balls and you are getting them to go, I recommend that you get sauce on the side so it does not get soggy, also with extra sauce. read more

We have gone back and few times and we had progressively worse service. The last and final straw time, a few months ago (yeah I've been meaning to write this review since) though they had two servers instead of one, they didn't ever remember to do anything at all. We had to wait, and remind them about drinks, bread, wine, check, everything. And when my husband got his spaghetti it was such a small amount I had to share my veg lasagna with him so he wasn't still hungry. Come on, spaghetti and meat sauce are not that expensive. Don't be stingy. Also the side of veg is the most bland, plain, small steamed carrot and zucchini you can imagine. We really wanted to like this place because there's not a lot of good eating in Pacifica. But it's a no-go. The only nice thing was that they were friendly there. read more

I liked it. I liked it enough to plan to go back when I go to that area of the bay again, and thought of contrivances to get me to that side again. It is probably a 4.5 (but I round up)- I won't dream of it at night or pine, but I will plan to go back. I came after a surf lesson and we were early, but the doors were open. Before the great 12 o'clock "show" started, the doors were open, opera was on for all to hear, and kitchen noises are being made with honest to goodness things being cooked. The owner, Luigi, is the reason to go. He is very nice and generous and the whole place feels kind. The decor is dated, but there is something so sweet and down home, it just feels like going to a generous person's house. There is a patriotic poster of Italian American pride as well as a lot of pictures of Venice and other scenes of Italy. There are coloring crayons for kids. This is not the hot date place to dress up, definitely it is a family place. They do quite a good little pizza takeout business too. Highly recommend: aranchi/rice ball (we are asian, so drawn to the riceball more out of curiousity than desire, but it was a surprise hit). Someone else was raving about the sauce that goes with it, and yes, I concur. The sauce is awesome. My caneloni was spot on. At first I panicked because I did not see any red and I am used to some tomato in my Italian food, but it was so rich, full and cheesy, it actually did not need the tomato. Wine: I am not a drinker, but Luigi got a lot of bonus points here. He was honoring an expired ancient Groupon, and it gives two glasses of wine with two entrees. He says "If you give something away, give away the best. People will remember that." Pinot Grigio! I am not a wine drinker, and I could taste the pinot was good. Mom said the cabernet was good too. Some locals near us came in and had a bowl of minestrone each. Next time: Luigi said his lasagna (vegetarian or meat) is the specialty Things I would pass on (nothing was bad): alfredo- actually underflavored. My mom usually complains about everything being too salty but ended up adding lots of table parmesan. The garlic bread also will not knock out your neighbors (I am a garlic hound), but it serves to mop the sauce. Desserts are not made in house. I would give it a 3 1/2. The food is great. You can't go wrong with the rice balls, they are the best!!! One and 1/2 star deducted because the service can be awful. Mr. Luigi needs to find some decent wait staff in his restaurant! They donate to local sports teams which is great! read more

I have literally been eating Luigi's food since I was still just a tiny baby in my mothers belly. Every birthday was spent at the Straw Hat off of Westbourough in Daly City that Luigi managed. He actually sold my dad his first pitcher of beer on his 21st birthday. It was a sad time when that place closed. But then years later he opened up another place off of Callan. Then that place closed. Imagine my surprise he opened up Luigi's in Pacifica not 5 minutes from me. Luigi is the absolute best. A kind humble man who lives to serve his customers. I love Luigi. This is not a hate review. But the service is beyond terrible. The last few times here they have not even managed to deliver the drinks to the table. We had to go ask for them. Tonight we ordered lasagna and raviolis thinking it could be a quick order. Our food just arrived an hour and 15 minutes after we ordered. Both are cold. To make matters worse 15 minutes ago I went to the counter and said I would like to pay for my salad and our drinks and just leave if the food had not been started. The girl went to the kitchen, came back, and said it was almost done. Now it's served cold? After I waited an hour and had to go ask for it. I love Luigi. He is a treasure. But every trip here is a bigger disappointment. read more

This place needs to rethink how they provide customer service and season's their food for flavor . I purchased a Large Calzon and all I can say is it was Tasteless. Vegetarian doesn't mean tomatoes and onion's. Add some squash,spinach,mushrooms make it worth the $23.00 one pays at least. Ordered a chicken Alfredo fettuccine. Your cook needs to taste the sauce. It was so SALTY I couldn't believe they serve this. I have say that the little marinara sauce cup they gave me was really good.Even when they charge you for it. But this was only possible because I asked for it. Otherwise they just give you the Calzon without any sauce. REALLY !! Luigi's is an amazing restaurant. I have it so often because it is so good. If anyone doesn't like this place, they have not ever had good food. They have wonderful pizza and soup. This place is Horrible!!! I ordered the rigatoni and what i got was canned food at best. It had no flavor at all. the garlic bread had no garlic, OK WTF? I really enjoyed my visit here, the food was great I ordered the fettuccini seafood. It came with a variety of seafoods: clam, shrimp, octopus, scallop. I could eat only half, and the price was very reasonable. Luigi served me himself and asked what I thought of the dish after. Servers came to me about five times but I did feel a difference from the hurried pace of other restaurants. Good to know in advance because I wasn't sure if they were open at first. It felt like a neighborhood restaurant which it is I suppose, kids come in from their bikes and ask for water. The staff was very genuine and friendly. O.M.G. Luigis is amazing. We hired them to make our food for our wedding...We ordered 9 huge pans of their delicious Meat and Veggie Lasagna, and they were a HIT! Not only did Luigi price them RIGHT for us (saved us so much money!), but my guests are still talking about the dinner they had. Good food at an affordable price! Not the best around but better than Viva or Granucci's. Service is a little slow but It's nice talking to Luigi while you wait. He is a really sweet man. Dinner for my husband's birthday. This was our first time here. It was empty but the place smelled like Nona's kitchen. Luigi himself took us to our table. We ordered the famous rice ball and it lived up to its reputation, delicious! The entrees we ordered were linguini with clams, gnocchi, manicotti, chicken scallopini and chicken pram. It pains me to write this review because I so want them to be better than this and they used to be! We live right up the street and this used to be our go to place for pizza. When we moved here a few years ago the pizza from here was excellent, but recently it has been horrible. We ordered pizza from here last week with a salad, rice balls, and 2 desserts. The pizza was tasteless and the crust was like cardboard (it was the same the time before). The salad's lettuce was brown at the edges and both the desserts were frozen solid. The rice balls were good and the sauce tasty, but not even these were as good as they used to be. The guy who owns the place is super nice, but I just get the sense that he's not as involved in the food as he used to be. Maybe that's just me trying to rationalize the decline in quality. I'd love to love this place again. I really hope they pull it together because Pacifica doesn't have many decent pizza places. read more

I have tried luigi's 3 times and was very disappointed all 3 times. The food is terrible. Worst Italian food I have ever had. The chicken Parmesan was a greyish color piece of sponge that was obviously prefrozen. I asked the waitress if the chicken was fresh or frozen, she came back and said frozen. The menu said fresh vegetables, I had a small portion of obviously frozen vegetables that come out of a bag like Safeway, small cubed carrots, peas, corn. I asked the waitress if the vegetables are fresh like it says on the menu, she came back and said no they are frozen. We ordered chicken wings that still had hair/fur on them nobody ate them they looked so horrible. They had a little sign on the table for tiramisu so we ordered it, they said we don't have tiramisu. The inside of the restraunt is not very fancy at all. It's like a school cafeteria with cold square tables and cold wooden chairs. There were 5 of us in our party the last time I tried luigi's, no one liked there meal. We didn't eat it or take it. The food is not fresh. The young waitress seemed to be very embarrassed everytime we asked her if something was fresh or frozen she would say " let me go to the kitchen and ask" she would come back everytime and say " I'm sorry, the cook did say its frozen". Very misleading menu when it says the food is fresh and it's not. Luigi was in the restaurant at the time. There are so many other good Italian restraunts that I would not go back to luigi's again. We moved close to Luigi's and have ordered several pizzas for delivery over the past year. They've always been pretty good pizzas and prompt delivery. I recently ordered a half-a-pan of meat lasagna for a small party. I picked up the lasagna, and got to speak with Luigi and the the woman who actually made the lasagna - both were extremely kind and appreciative of my business. I had read many of the Yelp reviews and saw either 5-stars or 1-2 stars, but figured I'd give the lasagna a try. It was delicious!! Everyone I served thought it was excellent, even my picky 4-year old daughter liked it. I don't know why the yelp reviews are so hot or cold ... but as far as pizza delivery and now lasagna orders they are awesome and reasonably priced. No doubt I'll be ordering again. read more

I like this place for the rice balls, but they really need to improve their customer service. Walked in, wasn't greeted, finally had to go to the "waiter" and told him I needed a table. He sat me down and then I waited another 10 mins to order. Waiter came back and said "has anyone taken your order yet?" I said no and he was like okay someone will be right with you, waited another ten minutes and luigi came by to take the order. He's sweet but it's still annoying that everytime I come here I wait so long for service even though there's like one other table occupied. Anyways finally order and every time I come here they always give us complimentary bread. It didn't come out for a while so I asked a older Filipino woman if we could get bread and she was like " oh we don't do that if you order a pizza, it's complimentary only sometimes" which is confusing because I've ordered pizza before and gotten bread but I let it go. Waited a while and finally got my pizza. Food is Mediocre which is why I think they should improve on their customer service. read more
