Ten minutes later he was chalking up the pants and let me know I can pick them up in about an hour and half. The quality of work was great, a little bit more than I was expecting to pay, but I was very impressed by the work, and the friendly service. I'll go back. Note: It's on the 7th floor.

Without even properly examining it, I was quoted $85 to replace the whole zipper or $35 for the zipper alone. Since my vest wasn't even worth that much, I decided to leave. On my way to get a haircut, I stopped by Ben's Custom Tailor to ask about the repair. The owner took a quick look, used a small tool on the zipper, and fixed it in less than a minute. Then, to my surprise, he simply handed me my vest and told me to go. He didn't ask for any payment. I was genuinely touched by his honesty and kindness. I even took a picture of his shop so I could remember the place and share this review. Thank you, Ben's Custom Tailor, for showing that honesty and good service still exist. When I came to pick up the dress (silky material), there were damages (nits and scrapes) all over the dress (front, back, arms, everywhere). Not only that, the alterations were so poorly executed. The arms weren't straight. They were all wonky. The seams don't line up. I honestly can't believe how horrible it is. I told her i was not happy with it and there were damages all over the dress. Her response was, "you said this was a cheap dress, so I gave you cheap discount." Firstly, I never said those words. She was making stuff up to cover up her mistakes. I told her I do not want to come in again. I want a refund for the alterations and my dress. She insisted come in on Tuesday to talk to her manager. And ignored me and went to the next customer. I don't have high hopes to be honest. I will be taking this to customer service. Overall, I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR ANY EXPENSIVE GARMENTS. The lady that helped me was not professional. She raised her voice, she was defensive, she denied the damages and was absolute ZERO help at all. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I would leave zero stars if i could.

The service is good and my clothes are usually ready for pick up earlier than expected. They will send an email when items are ready, so do check your email, otherwise just pop by with the pick-up receipt on the date/time stated. You can also bring the altered item home to try. If it is not done right, bring it back and they will re-work it at no additional charge. That happened to my jeans which was still too long despite the hemming done. The location is also very convenient as it is right in Metrotown and nearer to the skytrain and bus loop area. Parking can be a pain as it is always crowded though.

No longer do I have to worry about having my beautiful clothing from Ede & Ravenscroft look like it has been passed through a threshing machine. No longer do I collect my Gieves & Hawks jackets thinking, "What went wrong here!?" I always trust their work and you can tell how busy/in-demand they are with the projects they have waiting on their rack. They only take cash or debit, and worth the wait time for alterations.
