This place used to be wonderful once upon a time, when the owner Lucy, was there every time I went in. Everything I brought to them was done well. And everything was ready when they said it would be ready. I am now on my third time leaving a pair of cropped pants that they haven't been able to get right. The cropped pants came with the bottoms rolled up twice. I knew once I wash them, I would never get the cuffs the same way. So I took them in brand new and told them that I just want to get the cuffs stitched all the way around at the top where the cuff is so that would never come out. I didn't ask how much it would be I just told them what I wanted, and i'll pay for it right away. So I prepaid and when I came to pick it up, one of the legs was sewn all the way around, but the other had a big gap in the stitching and you could see threads where it had pulled apart. So it looks like they came all the way around but maybe didn't finish it off well enough and it came undone? I pointed it out and they said that's because they only put four corner tacks on each leg. I then asked why is the one leg stitched all the way around the way it was supposed to be?? Two of the employees spoke among themselves for a few minutes. (By the way, if you don't speak Spanish, you might have a very hard time explaining what you want.) In any case, they begrudgingly said they would fix it and it would be ready in three days. It was ready two days ago but I couldn't get back up here until today. So they had plenty of time. When I arrived, I was ignored for a full 12 minutes, while the front desk girl pinned an outfit on another customer. No one even acknowledged me and said that they would help me shortly. And we were the only three people standing right there. It was pretty rude. When she finally came over to me, she gave me my pants. I couldn't believe it when I checked both legs and the same problem was still there! No one had touched it! When I pointed it out, they tried to tell me the same thing again! They said that they only tack each leg cuff in four places evenly spaced around the leg. Once again, I said if that's the case then why is the other leg stitched all the way around??? Then she took it to the back and spoke with another woman who came upfront and told her to tell me that I didn't pay enough money to have it sewn all the way around. I said first of all, I never asked them to tell me a price. I told him what I wanted and then I would pay it. And I said if I didn't pay enough money to have it sewn all the way around each leg at the top of the calf, then why is one leg done that way?? I had to leave them again today, as I couldn't wait because I had to take a family member to a doctor appointment. I had intended to just stop in to pick up my pants. I still have no idea what they're gonna do, if they'll ever get it right and if they're going to charge me more money. It's sad to see this business go downhill, but I will never ever patronize Lucy's Place again!!!!! read more

I took two items. 1) Pair of lined slacks. They were done very well. 2) A maxi dress that was 6 inches too long. Rocio took care of me when I dropped it off. She did not have me stand on the stool (about 6 inches high). She pinned the hem a bit haphazardly and said that the girl would do it straight. I asked her to save the part they cut off (I was going to use it to make a scarf). She said that they ALWAYS save the extra fabric, but still wrote it on the paper (in Spanish AND English). When I picked up the dress, I tried it on, and the right side was shorter than the left. Rocio pulled down the shorter side. I wondered how she thought that would "fix" it. She said it wasn't too uneven, and I said, "I came to a tailor so that it could be perfect." I stood on the stool and she used the rolling ruler (that shoots powder at the designated spot) to go all the way around and mark it. Sure enough, the left side was an inch longer. Problem was that the left side was correct...so making it even with the right would have made dress too short. I was not happy. This dress was not cheap. THEY SHOULD HAVE MEASURED ME WITH THAT SPECIAL ROLLING RULER THING FROM DAY ONE. That would have avoided this completely. It's a shame, too, because the quality of the hem was nice. Furthermore, they did not save me the extra fabric. She said she did not know what happened, because they always save it. I was very unhappy. This was NOT my day. I asked for a discount, and Rocio said that the owner wasn't there. I get the impression that Rocio is the manager, so I wonder why she would not have authority to give me a discount. I told her I would never return. I paid and left. No apologies. No offer to have the owner call me. Because of this, I will NEVER go back. If they had taken better care of me, I would have definitely returned. This place is packed, too. There were many women dropping off and picking up the two times that I went. If I had to guess, I would say that they couldn't care less about good customer service because they have enough business to make up for lost customers like me. I will keep hunting for a great tailor in Miami. read more

This was my first time using Lucy's and to say the least, I will not be taking any of my dry clean garments or alterations to her again. I needed 3 jeans fixed, 3 skirts, and 4 garments dry cleaned. All of my dry-cleans smell horrible and one of the jeans looks like she absolutely did NOTHING to it. To top it off, one of my dresses had a string around the waist that is not attached and it was not with the dress. I'm hoping to God when I go back that she has it. I am very disappointed, unimpressed, and frustrated. read more

I used to go to Lucy's for alterations. They did a good job with easy things like pant hems, but they ruined a few of my dresses. They did not offer to cover the cost of these brand-new items, nor did they refund the money I paid for the alterations. read more

Brought three dress shirts and three pairs of pants to get altered. After being measured for each one of them, they all came back way too tight. It was almost as if the measurement session was disregarded. I'm looking elsewhere for my alteration needs next time. read more

The best!!! I've been coming for years and have never been let down. The staff is friendly and efficient as ever. They get things done in a timely manner and do excellent work! Never again! The staff are the rudest people from the time you walk in! I walked in to a very unhappy customer complaining about the bad work they did to his clothes. They completely altered my dress wrong and then through a fit when they were asked to fix it. Oh and walking out, another unhappy customer complaining. These people are bad news!!!! read more

Terrible experience. Buyer beware. They took a suit I needed for a wedding to have tailored and dry cleaned. I was extremely specific about it having to be ready on time for obvious reasons. On the day it was promised an employee told me " its not ready and im not sure where it is". He then proceeded to call the actual dry cleaners that they contract to do the work to then be told it wasnt ready. I had to drive to the dry cleaners that actually does the work the following day to hunt down my suit. Horrible experience. What made it worse was the lack of concern of the employee, who appeared go be a teenager with no customer service experience whatsoever. This place has really gone down the drain the last few years. They don't know how to organize things. In the past they were good now they just can't handle the business coming in. They take on too many clients and don't have the resources to run the business properly anymore. I won't be returning after the bad experience I recently had. They told me the dress I dropped off Saturday would be ready by wed, I showed up Thursday and they hadn't been started on my dress and they didn't bother to call and let me know what was going on. Beware don't take your clothes, I went to pick my clothes up abd left with water stains. When i noticed it , they told me there was nothing they can do about it. I'm incredibly upset and hope the manager reaches out to me to make this right. Today I'm the maid of honor at my friend's wedding. I took my dress to Lucy's for minimal alterations and dry cleaning. 80 bucks later and my dress has a full color, is still wrinkly, and smells bad.
