Really loved this husband and wife team at French Juliet Tailor. I'm relatively new to the area and hadn't established a relationship with a tailor yet. Friends didn't have anyone to recommend so I completely relied on Yelp for this one. Thankfully, the yelp community didn't disappoint! Their location was easy enough to find and had parking along side the building (always appreciated in Miami). I needed a bridesmaid dress to have a minor alteration because the one shoulder needed to be taken in. They charged me appropriately and had the dress ready exactly when they said it would be. A bit on the pricey side however I found it to be reasonable as the romper came home hemmed and dry cleaned. I took my unfinished jeans to be hemmed and they did a lazy, poor job. I had an identical pair of jeans done somewhere else a year later and the difference was very clear. I'll post a side by side pic. Price was the same for both but only one was done professionally. If they can't do an original hem ona pair of jeans then I wouldn't trust them for anything more complicated. read more

Claude Albert is the sweetest French gentleman who also happens to be a tailor that I've ever met. I've gone to him for a hemming and an alteration and both times his service has been speedy, accurate, and SO affordable. Pants hem- 10 bucks Blouse alteration-10 bucks His business is run by the rest of the family and sometimes they don't always get your information but it's a small hiccup to deal with when you're taking your clothes to a perfect Frenchman. This is how much I trust Claude; I'm taking my wedding dress to him. Parking at his location is minimal but there's never "no parking." The location is a bit difficult to turn into from US-1 but not impossible. Expect quick service. No appointment necessary. read more

I didn't have the best experience here. I actually took my garment and left. I was hoping to get a wedding dress made out of vintage lace material. It was already shaped like a basic dress but just needed some altering. After I waited some time for someone to help me, I was told to put it on in the fitting room. There was loud noise going on outside, some girls and a family owned business. Afterwards, I waited, and waited. Finally about 10 minutes later of waiting around the fitting room, the young man came to help me again. He asked what I wanted once more, I showed him the picture of an altered dress how i wanted it to be. He yelled for his mom to come see. She came and looked at the dress and kind of said she could do it? But when I asked about the fabric and it being vintage - she couldn't really help and snapped at me that she isn't a laundromat, how would she know. But then she said she doubted anything could be done about dying or cleaning the fabric. So I took off the dress and as I was checking out, spoke to the man alone. He offered some help, kind of apoligizing for her behavior, saying that if I took it to a cleaner first, they could probably help me and then bring it back for $60 of alterations. But I was turned off and decided to go with another approach altogether. And in the future, I'd rather take my clothes somewhere else instead. read more

They're probably worth a five star review, but I haven't actually tried the pants on since I picked them up the other day. I'm hedging my bet a little. I've driven past here a million times, never filing it away in the back of my mind. So when I needed a tailor (been awhile and I didn't want to go back to the other place), I Yelped it. Then it hit me, "Oh yea, the place between the Keg and Austin's Dive Shop." Never have I been able to wear a pair of pants right off the shelf. Jeans, sure. The potholes born from flip-flops are something of a Purple Heart for the heels. The whole process was about 10 minutes. $10 for 10 minutes. I walked in on a Friday afternoon, put on the pants, they were pinned and I changed back. The woman who pinned me was very polite. She asked me if the length looked good. I was superficially respectful back, reminding her that she was the professional. While I'm thinking little does this woman know that my preferred method of tailoring is more of an erosion process. Less than a week later and ahead of the pick-up date that I was given, I had the pants in hand. So an uptick in stars may be needed. We'll have to see how the gamble pays off. Really though it's a win-win. Either they're too long and need further hemming or they're too short and work well with dress-flops. read more

I brought in a very expensive woman's tuxedo jacket to have the sleeves adjusted. They quoted and charged, in advance, $197 to shorten the sleeves and promised it would be ready by Jan 8th (3 weeks, granted, it was a holiday week). When we came to pick it up on the 11th it had not even been started! No call, no apology, just returned the money and handed us the jacket. We then took the jacket to another tailor and she did a wonderful job on the jacket and 2 pair of slacks for $83 and it took a week. I do not recommend this shop and will never return. read more

Juliet did an amazing job with alterations on my bridesmaid dress for my sister in laws wedding. She was patient and did 3 appointments to make sure I felt comfortable in the dress. She also suggested adding some cups to the front of the dress which made it even more comfortable for me. Her and her husband are not only incredibly sweet but also talented! They worked in NYC for years and it shows in their work and work ethic. I thought their price point was also reasonable considering the level of service and results. He does good work I can give him that but he is very very expensive. I won't mention his pricing here but for what he charges to fix men's pants and dress shirts you could buy the shirt you want at the size you want brand new from a department store. And I'm talking brand names etc. I can't speak for women's wedding dresses etc. but for men's clothes you are better off going somewhere else. I guess he caters to the Pinecrest area which is high income so he bases his prices on his clientele. He is also slow, over 2 weeks to get me 3 pieces of garment fixed He is very nice and it's a family owned business and again his work is good but pricing is high, very high! If you don't mind the drive go to west Kendall by hammocks and visit Joseph's Tailor Shop. I've had him do my suits, pants and dress shirt from a classic look to a modern slim fit and he is great and very economical. Had 3 pants and 3 shirts done in 5 days! read more

i miss claude albert deeply. he was my go to tailor when i lived in the area, basically my whole life. from fixing a pants hem to taking in a dress he was my guy. then i moved and it has become hugely inconvenient to get to him during business hours. i have yet to find someone who i adore and trust. i dont accurately remember prices, but i do remember it wasnt cheap. but i can vouch for his precision, honesty, timeliness, and overall great customer service. he is the cutest little old frenchman who makes you laugh and returns your clothes in perfect condition! i highly recommend him and hope to someday move back to the neighborhood, being close to him, is that big of a perk!! read more

I ran back to the tailor's CRYING thinking that I would not be able to wear my beautiful dress on my big day. They calmed me down and let my dress out in plenty of time for my wedding! Juliet almost ruined my wedding dress. Two days before my wedding I had to grab my dress and find another tailor to fix it. She took in the sides too much and I could not move in my dress. She hemmed the bottom way too short and uneven. The dress was FILTHY and wrinkled and I was unable to get it cleaned before my wedding. She was unapologetic but probably because she requires payment up front. She did not offer a refund knowing the state the dress was in. DO NOT GO HERE!!! read more

Juliette is AMAZING! My Monique Lhuillier wedding dress didn't quite fit me (but I fell in love with it and bought it anyways). Every seamstress I went to said extending the back wouldn't be a problem... with a corset. The problem was, I didn't want a corset! Juliette, expanded the back of my dress so no corset was needed and it was perfect. She was extremely well priced, fast and so wonderful to work with~ I HIGHLY recommend this tailor for any and all alterations (especially with something as precious as your wedding dress). I had my wedding dress altered there several times (had the top cut off and reworked, sides taken in and bustle put on) and I was so pleased with the results. Not only were they timely and did what I asked, but they were SO REASONABLE. Many brides don't know that if you purchase a dress at a shop and have it altered there, the cost can be INSANE (ie a friend of mine bought a dress at Priscilla of Boston they charged $700 for basic alterations!!!!) Claude Albert did mine for a fraction of the price and did a lot more work on my gown than hers. I would absolutely recommend them! read more

Very sweet people. Came here to get a bridesmaids dress altered. About $100 to get it taken in and up and to have the lining adjusted. Definitely fit a lot better, but in the wedding pictures you can see the side zipper bulge out if you look carefully...not sure if getting it to fit PERFECTLY is even a realistic expectation though -- have never had to have other formal dresses altered to this extent. At least the alteration was done right on time -- they told me it would take two weeks, and I got a phone call exactly two weeks later to tell me it was done, as promised. read more

The tailors are a French couple. They're very experienced, flexible, and friendly. I've had several suits tailored here and they do stellar work! The only problem is the price. It costs approximately $300 to have a suit tailored. Can't really say how much other garments might cost. So just a heads up, they do quality work but things can get expensive quickly. read more

I went in two days before Thanksgiving to have a suit fully tailored and ready for pick up the next day. I bought the suit online and it was unfortunately 3 sizes too big for me but Serg and his wife were willing to make it work. I was given a price before we noticed how large the suit was and even though there was a considerable amount of additional work that needed to be done Serg kept his word with the original price, greatly appreciated his ethics. I got a call the next day notifying me that the suit was ready for pick up, they performed magic on this suit. I went in asking for a next day miracle. I called prior and explained. The lady was excited over the phone to help in whatever way she could. Once I walked through the door her entire vibe/attitude change. I felt so uncomfortable that I just left out. She made me feel so uneasy. I had no problem with her not being able to fix my clothing just her attitude as soon as she saw ME and not my Dress was horrible. If you don't mind someone judging you off of how you look then go ahead but I refuse to spend money at a place where I am not treated nicely. read more
