Maliah is unbelievably talented seamstress! I am giving 5 stars only because I can't give more. First I trusted Maliah with my wedding gown in 2020, which she altered to perfection. Now three years later I task her with revisioning my gown to a baptism gown for my god daughter-- what she designed and delivered surpassed any idea or expectations I could have had. I never dreamed the baptism gown could be more beautiful than my wedding dress but here we are! The level of detail and care put into to crafting the gown in impeccable. If looking for a one a kind garment that is heirloom quality-- go with Maliah! read more

North chesterfield has plenty of alteration choices. But the best, lowest priced and kindest would be Lucy's. Tucked into a small outdoor mall, it is so easy to miss. In fact, I can't tell you how many times I passed this little shop, before popping in. They know what they are doing. Honest, kind, fast, and excellent pricing. My new favorite alteration shop. read more

customer service was exceptional, quality (to have never done an amateur bikini competition suit) was outstanding. One, thing I would add is, make sure your need is clearly understood! As, the right cup of the top was not cut as I specified (to make larger, than the right)! I could not prevent the spillish, as shown in the photo. the value was great, overall the suit turn out beautifully.. Thank you read more

Wow! Great customer service & craftsmanship! A week away from my first bikini bodybuilding competition I began to lean out much more than expected and my custom made (expensive) rhinestone suit bottom no longer fits. I am panicked as I need to have this back quickly and it also needs to fit me perfectly. It was custom made to my exact measurements previously. I was also terrified of the suit getting ruined as it is super delicate. I am so thrilled, impressed, grateful, & blown away by the amazing work done here! I called on a Sunday, they were closed, but a woman answered the phone anyway as she was working (I could hear the sewing machine). She told me I could bring in my suit the next day. I explained to her the significance of having it back urgently as well as ensuring it fit me properly and of course I didn't want any damage done. Long story short: I couldn't be happier! The suit was altered perfectly, done on time, and the price was fair. It looked great on show day! read more

I have been to Lucy's for several alterations at this point. Some small and some large. They have one of the quickest turnaround times I have seen with an alteration location. The staff is always pleasant. The prices are very typical for the services offered, and especially nice for their speed. They make sure you are happy before you leave the store. This shop is wonderful. I have a chunky-monkey preschooler who needs pants for his waist that are several sizes up from how long his little legs are! I took all of his back-to-school pants to Lucy's to have them hemmed, including several pairs of jeans. The price was very affordable, and I had all the pants back a week later! Best mens and women alterations in the Richmond area! Prior to finding Lucy's through a recommendation I utilized the services of whatever store where I purchased my clothing whether high end department stores or men's clothing specialty shops. I was not always satisfied with the results. I then tried several tailoring shops with mixed results. I finally found complete satisfaction with Lucy's. She is passionate about her tailoring, makes suggestions if you ask, and always delivers precise and quality tailoring. Just as I found out about her through a recommendation I highly recommend Lucy's for woman and men's tailoring. Bill D read more

Professional tailoring. Not only do they tailor well but I had Lucy shortened a window topper that was mounted on a board so I could use it at my new home. She did such a great job - I couldn't tell where she cut it. Lucy is delightful to work with and she will do whatever it takes to get the job done to your satisfaction.
