Oksana did an absolutely impeccable job tailoring a formal gown to fit me like a glove. The dress was for a wedding that had been postponed for a year due to the pandemic, and when it was finally time to wear it the dress didn't fit. I was warned that a new dress would be cheaper, but I didn't want to risk it not arriving in time or the sizing still being not quite right. It was well worth the cost to have the dress fit perfectly. Oksana instantly saw the problems and got to work when I arrived at her shop. It took 45 minutes for her to pin everything in place, and I really appreciated her thoroughness and focus. In the end she had to hem it and take it in significantly at the waist and under the arms, which involved multiple layers of different fabrics, removal and reapplication lace appliques and an attached belt, and reshaping the entire top. She priced out each individual alteration so I knew exactly how much it would cost for each step. The turnaround time was very fast for how much work she had to do and how busy her shop is, and when I came back to try it on it was perfect. Warning! Tailoring services are not cheap. With that out of the way, they do a terrific job. Oksana, one of the sweet women that work there, is super nice and charming. She will take care of you and make you look and feel great. I am going to a wedding very soon and decided to be a man, and go to a professional tailor. I'm not talking about Macy's or Men's Warehouse. I'm talking about an actual tailor shop. I got two suits and a jacket tailored. In talking to Oksana, we discussed all the places where my suit(s) would need adjusted. This is where the cost adds up, so be very careful in choosing what you want done. If you can live without some adjustments, do without it. It adds up quick! On one of my suits, I let her make all the suggested adjustments. The suit now fits like a glove. She made it tailored slim fitting, modern and stylish. I even had her shorten a sport coat. Not an easy task! They managed to keep the coat in its original shape. Their craftsmanship is A+ with super friendly service. If I had the money, I'd get many more things done. I will surely come back. Now I hope I don't gain weight before this wedding! Oksana was patient, kind and talkative while she pinned the dress making the quick process seem even faster. I didn't wait upon arriving on a Thursday afternoon at 5:30pm (I had called and made an appointment), and after about 15 minutes, I was on my way out the door. Exactly one week later, I returned (5:45pm) to pick up the dress. I was quickly taken care of despite other patrons in the store. I usually don't write a review after just one visit, especially if I plan on returning but I have to tip the hat to this place. I purchased a new suit for an interview at the last minute. I called all of my usual places to hem the pants but because of the holiday weekend they were unable to complete the alterations in time. Finally I called Fashion Design, she said that as long as I could get in before 5 I could sit and wait. WHEW! So I arrive, and the place is bustling, which is always a good sign. The owner was extremely friendly and well organized. Everyone in the place had a smile and were very pleased with the work. Another good sign. I try on the pants and she begins to mark the hem. "Cuff or plain?" "Plain please." "Good choice." I'm no slouch when it comes to how to wear a suit, so I am very particular about how my pants are hemmed. Without asking, she marks the hem perfectly. A slight break in front, with an angled hem to the rear to keep them tight to the shoe. She nailed it. I take off the pants and she whisks them into the back so they can start work. "How does the jacket fit?" "It's okay" "Try it on please" "Uh, do you have time?" "Oh yes..." The sleeves were a little long, so she marks them and takes the jacket in the back also. After about 45 minutes everything was done, and done to perfection. While waiting I heard her tell the seamstress "Don't rush, take your time, it has to be perfect." It looks like the suit came from the factory, not a stitch out of place. It was a little pricey, but honestly I expected it to be more given the last minute rush. read more

I was hesitant to write this one. It was not because my experience was bad; I did not want to share. The secret is out! Fashion Design is by far the best tailor I have worked with. Most of my garments need some alterations. I am short, with short arms and a wide back and industry standards for garment manufacturing are not kind to me. Fashion Design cures my worries. I've never gone to a true tailor before (other than getting buttons replaced on an old blouse at another tailor; I received said blouse almost two months later and reeking of cigarette smoke). Oksana is fantastic: personable, very detailed, and knowledgeable. She fits garments to you so they are most complementary to your body type. I've had her adjust pants (both taken in, let-out) and shirts. Dresses are next on my list. I'm so excited to have found someone that can help breathe new life into my clothes; I hate being wasteful and getting rid of something that doesn't fit well. I no longer have to with her expertise! Prices are mid-range to high depending on what you need for your garment. For me, the price is justifiable since I don't have to go shopping for something new and I can keep my well-loved clothes. PS- Saturdays are her busiest. If you can, come during the week. PPS- She's always juggling other clients when I've been there but is completely focused on you when it's your turn. Oksana did an excellent job on about a dozen total items including shirts and pants. Her prices are fair but not cheap e.g. $20 to shorten sleeves $8 to bring in shirt cuff button. I was very satisfied with the work. Tip: Every time I have been in the store it has been very busy. Expect to wait. It may take as long as 1 hour to be seen and get through all the fitting if you have several pieces. Don't be in a rush. I love it here...Oksana is so wonderful. She has done 3 suits, a sport coat, and numerous other apparel for me (outerwear, shorts, etc). She will ask you a number of questions while you have the clothing on to ask you how it feels and your particular style. For mens suits, there is the traditional cut, then you have more modern slim cut, then super slim European models and then the Eastern European styling that looks like the suit is 3 sizes too small. But she is great and will work within your time frame to get it done. She isn't the cheapest out there, but I love her quality. The owner will be more honest than any friend you have, which is helpful because she has the skills to fix a garment if (as she will tell you) it makes your boobs look saggy or doesn't flatter your body. When I got there things were very busy, but I was taken care of quickly. Oksana was always smiling and helpful, even though she continually needed to answer the phone. When I picked the jacket up the alterations were exactly as I had hoped. Again her shop was full of people but she managed to take care of things quickly. She even noticed a small thread on the coat that needed to be cut while she was on the phone with another customer. The experience felt very rushed and more of a "let's fix this to make it look better" instead of a "let's make you look amazing." Trust me guys - you are in good hands. Oksana is the main tailoress at Fashion Design who runs the show, and she is just the absolute best!! I was referred here by a friend who raved of Oksana's magic touch with needle and thread, and I am so glad I came to her. I had purchased a BCBG formal gown that had a rip at one of the seams in the middle (don't worry, I got it discounted because of this preexisting damage). When I brought it to Oksana I thought it would be a very easy fix for her, but she surprised me when she explained how she would first "complete" the tear by ripping the seam further, but only so that she could resew and reinforce the entire seam to ensure it would not rip again. To me, this was going above and beyond what any other tailor would do. Rather than simply fixing the present problem, she also took measures to prevent future damage! The cost of mending the seam was $16. Yes, a little pricy, but she did it very well. When I came back to try on the gown, the side that she repaired looked so much better than the original, undamaged side that I was almost tempted to ask her to rip apart the other seam and do that one too! The gown was also about 2.5 inches too long for me even when I was in the heels I was planning to wear it with. She expertly double hemmed the bottom of the gown for me at the price of $42. At the end of the day, I spent about the same on the gown as I would have had I not gotten the original discount for the preexisting damage of the ripped seam. Long story short, the quality workmanship she put into my gown definitely showed, and I was very happy with my experience! I have loads full of clothes I've been meaning to get tailored, and Oksana will surely be my go-to! read more

I find it difficult to fit in off-the-rack clothes (especially pants and dress shirts), and Oksana expertly makes them look custom made for me.
