Good fresh food and friendly service. Not comparable to a city style Thai place. But solid for the middle of Maine.

It's a place we've been going to for over four years, and it has never disappointed us. The service is excellent, especially the waitress, who is always very kind and attentive. You can really tell they care about their customers and maintain a high level of service. One thing we really appreciate is how they handle any issues. For example, one time I ordered a beef pho and forgot to mention that I prefer the meat more well-done. They had no problem fixing it and brought me a new dish without any hassle. That says a lot about their commitment to good service. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is pleasant, and it's definitely a place we always enjoy coming back to.

Not only was my order not ready on time, but while I was waiting, someone who seemed to be an owner or employee brought a baby into the kitchen in a stroller. I found this really concerning from a hygiene standpoint. The customer service wasn't friendly either. No greeting, no apology for the delay--just a generally cold and unwelcoming vibe. As for the food, it was subpar considering the price. The flavors were bland, and the portions didn't match the cost. I honestly wish I had gone to Pho Co. Variety instead--it would've been a better experience all around. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but this visit was disappointing enough to say something.

Despite not being overly busy it took the waitress forever to greet us. After she took our order she said she would get us plates but never did. The wait was ridiculously long and some other woman threw a plate of skins on the table and immediately walked away. No plates. One tiny sour cream for two people. We tried to wave our waitress and this other woman down but they were too involved in personal conversation and going back into the kitchen. I had to go to the host and ask her if she could bring us plates and get our waitress, but then I noticed the plates on the shelf and was able to self serve. The hostess was able to get us the sour cream. I'm not a monster so I still tipped 20% but I low key wish the tip went to the hostess instead.

I was able to get a spot out front, plenty of street parking with no fees, and walked right in. Staff is friendly and prompt. I was able to just mozy up to the bar. Bar tender was prompt, took my order and I had a frosty drink in less than a minute. Ordered fried pickles and they were out in about three sips of my Pumpkinhead. They have a huge variety of draft, cans and plenty of alcohol to choose from. This includes, cider and GF options from lucky pigeon. The fried pickles are crispy, and the dip enhances the taste of the fried pickles. The full bar has seating on three sides and there are TVs everywhere you look. We are in the same room as the bowling lanes and there are twelve of them. There is seating in a separate room if you want. All in all a friendly, comfortable place to sit and rest your feet. I've been here a couple of times now, and the food and service have never disappointed. Today, the Cubano was juicy and flavorful, and the house fries are seasoned in a bistro rub that's salty and smoky, golden fried to perfection with a crunchy shell and a soft, pillowy center. This is elevated pub fare at its finest, with good portions, fair pricing and a great atmosphere in a restaurant that straddles the middle ground between the coastal towns around Portland and the start of the lakes region in Windham. This place is especially magical in the summer, when the greenery is back and the weather is consistently nice, but I expect it will get busier and busier at peak season, especially as word gets out... and why wouldn't it? Who doesn't want to grab a bite and a drink while soaking up the light reflecting off a lazy river ? The good news is, they are taking reservations, so you can always call ahead to lock in a table on the weekends. Aside from the riverside back deck, they have a full bar with seating, inside tables, and another outdoor patio area in the front along Main Street (aka River Road). Red City Ale House hits the mark for all occasions... I feel perfectly welcome and accommodated coming in to dine solo, I could easily see this being a casual date-night destination, and I could also see it accommodating families or larger groups. Whatever your occasion, RCAH is a road trip worthy destination.

I had orange chicken and it was so overcooked and dried I could barely cut or chew it as it was so hard. The wontons in the soup were undercooked. The white rice was fine, seemed fresh and moist. We ordered the spare ribs, teriyaki beef, sweet and sour chicken, crab rangoons and scallion pancakes. The beef and ribs were so dry! The sweet and sour chicken oozed grease so bad we couldn't even taste the chicken, and the scallion pancakes had almost no flavor. However that is nothing compared to the "crab" Rangoon. These were absolutely atrocious! They tasted like fish! And I don't mean "seafoody" I mean like an actual FISH. I don't expect these places to use all crab and am aware most use an imitation, but this was down right unbelievable. Was it old? Idk I don't dare eat anymore. The cost was ridiculous. All this came to just around $100 and it all fit in a small bag. Granted, it was ordered on a third party app, but this was not worth the wait or the money. The only reason they're getting 2 stars is due to the moderately quick delivery, but I think this is more on the dash than Chia Sen. If I wanted leftover Chinese food I would order from a better, cheaper place and eat in 3 days from now. Buyer beware
