Saeng Spring Rolls
Cynthia S.

Ordered online and pick it up. When we're arrived we can't go inside and there's sign at the door to call ( great idea Big jumbo portion and the most important think all are super delicious. White people spicy, not real Thai spicy but it's okay. Ordered appetizer tray and even come with spring roll. All delish but the sauce that came with it just okay. Nothing special pineapple fried rice with chicken and shrimp and I added extra veggies. It even come with pineapple as the "bowl" which is cute. 3 years in NYC I never got this "bowl" and only in indonesia and thailand they did that. Pork panang curry also super tasty and yummy We can't finish it all and keep it over night

Solid Thai takeout spot in Portland. Exhausted from our trip and on the last night, we opted for takeout as we were staying nearby. They were friendly, fast and pretty well priced. My wife got the Pad Sea Ew and while not remarkable, it was pretty good. Lots of veggies, a flavorful sauce and some decent noodles. My Pad-Thai was not good. It was super sweet, literally no veggies, not even as a garnish, and a bit sticky. I ended up pitching it not even halfway through and stealing more bites of my wife's order as she won this round. Rounding up because they were nice and their menu was good, but I'd steer clear of the Pad Thai.

Pad Thai without egg

I stopped here because it was so close to the inn I was staying at, and because Thai food always sounds good. I knew I had chosen a great spot when there were 4 other people picking up orders while I was there. I was not disappointed! I ordered the fried tofu and veggie pad Thai minus egg. The sauce with the tofu was the star of the show- it had roasted garlic and a sweet flavor. The noodles were great as well. The sauce was more of a white sauce than brown and was delicious. The portion was huge- after a long day of hiking and an always hefty appetite, I couldn't finish it all. The restaurant is family operated and the owners were super friendly. There were a few news articles on the wall as well as shirts for sale. I would definitely eat here if you get the chance.

counter and table for 2

We dined on consecutive nights while staying at nearby inn. The restaurant is petite with only one small table and counter space for 4-5 other people. It does a good business from takeout as we witnessed a continuing stream of people arriving and walking off with bags of food. On the first night we enjoyed hot basil chicken and pad Thai basil with shrimp. It must have been because we returned the next time and ordered drunken noodles with chicken and cashew stir fry with shrimp - oops, we received and were charged for chicken. Each dish was well prepared using high quality ingredients. Service was good on both occasions though not particularly friendly.

Drunken Noodle & Thai Ice Tea

This place is right across the street from my hotel, and after seeing the reviews, I had to try this out on a rainy day. Got the classic Drunken Noodles (my go-to for a new takeout place) and it was really good. I have to say that the distinguishing factor is definitely the Thai Milk Tea though- it's one of the best I've had from a Thai takeout place. Good prices. Restaurant taking COVID very seriously, transaction was smooth. 10/10 would recommend!

There's records being thrown down, cool lighting, nice decor and even super friendly folks. The employees here are beyond nice and welcoming. Like they know what they are doing here and they are offering you an experience that is fun and funky. We started off with two drinks. One was called a salad of some sort (sorry, blacked out) and it was delicious. The other was just as good. Ordered the eggplant app - do not leave without this. Absolutely amazing. For food, we ordered a rice bowl with pork sausage and a noodle bowl (with lobster and clams). Don't remember the names. Both were absolutely fantastic. The flavor profiles are just incredible. The rice bowl had so many things happening. Just terrific. The noodle bowl has a broth that you would drink daily. There wasn't one thing that could have made these dishes any better. Do not leave without dessert. Read that again!!! Get the honey sundae. This is what dreams are made of. You will question reality. No matter how stuffed you think you are, order this. Service: Great Food: We started off with soft serve and the seasonal earl gray outshined the house honey. The earl gray had a great flavor topped with an excellent syrup while the honey was mild and the chocolate shell didn't add anything, although the 'honeycomb' bits were delic. Crispy eggplant special - good, very small portion Pork katsu sandwich - pretty solid, interesting pickle Pad mee korat - good, small portion Value: Aside from the soft serve, the portions were very small for ~$17 price point, and the food was good but aside from the earl gray soft serve, didn't amaze to the point of paying a higher price point. Overall I did like this meal but portions were small for prices. I hope they keep the earl gray soft serve around!

Miso soup was delicious and hearty - just what you need on a cold day outside. Both, noodles and fried rice were great. It is a tragedy that I was only planning to visit Portland for less than a day, so I didn't have the opportunity to dine in at the Green Elephant. However I would contemplate driving up from Boston just to have their Singapore noodles again. It was so flavorful, and the noodles were cooked to the perfect texture. The level 2 spice in the online ordering menu was not spicy at all, but the food still had a good amount of sauce and flavor. The dish was definitely heavy on the noodles and probably only had 4-5 bite-sized pieces of tofu for protein, but the noodles certainly were my favorite part. And for only about $15-20 per main dish, this is one of the more accessible/affordable restaurants for vegan options in Portland!

My boyfriend and I went for hibachi on Valentine's Day. We did have to wait about 20-30 mins for hibachi to start since we got paired with strangers. Once the service started, it was fantastic. We got gyoza for the appetizer which is always so good. The dipping sauce is delicious. Hibachi is always so fun. Dinner and a show. The chef loves including everyone. Saki shots, getting the vegetables launched into your mouth, and the onion volcano are all so fun. I always get filet mignon. Hibachi comes with the mini salad and soup to start.
