My family's go to spot for Thai food! We absolutely love their tofu and red curry. The flavor of the curry is spot on and I love to get spicy level 5. The tofu comes with a sweet and sour dipping sauce that is delicious. We usually order the pad thai, with chicken and shrimp, and drunken noodles with beef. The pad thai is sometimes hit or miss, as it's sometimes too watery and sweet. Just something to think about when ordering. I'm sure you could ask them to make adjustments but whenever we order online there's no option to add notes. I've never eaten in the restaurant before but it looks charming and spacious. Whenever I stop by, there are a couple tables with guests but this place seems pretty busy with take out orders. read more

This is a very good Thai restaurant. Their menu has most of the staple items. The food is fresh and they have the largest portion sizes that I've had at a Thai restaurant. The value is very good! This is the best pad Thai I have ever had. It is THAT good. This is fresh, delicious, perfectly seasoned pad Thai. Their ramen noodles are great too. Their serving sizes are huge and prices are super reasonable. Their spice levels are delicious and come from flavor instead of the oily heat a lot of places rely on. They cook their tofu perfectly, they actually put fresh crushed peanuts on top, the sprouts are super fresh, the vegetables are still fresh... just so, so good. Worst Thai experience EVER! On the road and stopped. It's take out only. Ordered Pad Thai and Red Curry with Chicken. Because we're driving a ways away we decided to eat in the parking lot. Thank goodness we did. My first bite into the chicken, RANCID. Then I tried the curry...underlying flavor...RANCID CHICKEN! Sent my guy in to return the food and they told him that I must not "understand the flavor" WTH???!!! I get Pad Thai most times I go for Thai food. I also know what RANCID chicken tastes like. Anyplace that tells a customer they "don't understand" instead of apologizing has a poor business ethic. Got our money back and off to another place along the highway. I was looking for dinner. Been cooking all week and after a good 2 mile run and workout, was craving Thai. Went to Yelp to see who was listed for pick up and a place I had not been to before. And there was Thai 9. The website was easy to navigate and place my order. Of course, I do have my favorite and one is Pad Thai and of course spring rolls. I do like the thinner noodles (Singapore Noodles) but hard to find it it was on the menu. Anyway, you can pick your time for pick up, so gave myself time to shower and change and drive to Scarborough, next to the turnpike exit. When you arrive, walk in the bar and tell them your name and walk out. Pretty easy and it was waiting for me when I arrived. I wanted to pull out the Spring Rolls for the ride home, but they were tightly wrapped. Probably a good thing. Got home, set things up and bit was yummy. I should have mentioned a higher spice level, can't remember if they ask actually. But it was still great and the portion for the price was pretty good. Enough for lunch today. We got takeaway today and it was very good overall, with a few hiccups. I got the crispy duck noodle broth with ramen noodles (an option on grubhub though it didn't seem to be one on the website menu). It was very tasty! The duck was tender and crisp and delicious. I got it at a spice level 3, which was maybe too much, but I still loved it. My partner got the sweet and sour chicken, which unfortunately did not agree with them. We also got three apps - the pork dumplings, which were just okay, and kind of limp for fried dumplings; the chicken wings which sadly had lost some of their crisp coating because the sauce that came with them spilled on them on the way home; and the crab rangoon, which was great - one of the best crab rangoons I've had anywhere. My partner also ordered a thai iced coffee, which was missing from the order. It was taken off the bill after calling. Also, when I went to pick up the order, they told me it would be another half hour although the pickup time was listed for 4pm; we called on the phone and they said it was ready now, I went back in and the waiter/host dude assumed I was an uber driver even though I told him I was picking up takeout and gave the name. Every time my woman and I go to Thai 9 have been Amazing! She loves the spicy steak salad, and usually gets that, plus we always get an order of Thai rolls as an appetizer. I have gotten the chicken pad Thai, the triple delight, the teriyaki chicken, and have also tried the chicken drunken noodles... Every dish we have gotten was delicious! Heading north through Maine we decided to pull off the highway to grab a bite to eat. We were greeted immediately upon entering by the sweetest hostess. We ordered the chicken lo mein to 'start' thinking we would order more. It was so large we couldn't eat any more but didn't want to miss out on trying other items so we each ordered a dinner to go for later! It was delicious and the vegetables were si fresh. Service was quick and very friendly. Restaurant was cozy and intimate. On a side note, they do not serve alcohol but it would not deter us from stopping in again. Had re family over for lunch and decided to go to one of our favorites, Thai 9. We phoned in our order and picked it up . The still only have takeout available, however after soaking to the employee, they are hopeful to reopen the dining area as soon as they can find enough servers. Our order consisted of two Rangoon made with real crab. It was fried with a golden crispy wonton with real crab filling. My daughter said they've were yummy, however I thought they could have had a bit more of the delicious crab filling. We also order several orders of Pad Thai which my family agreed that they were all excellent. I ordered a veggie #2 star spice and certainly was hot enough for me. I also noticed it had several large pieces of Bok Choi which was an excellent surprise for me. The other two Pad Thais were chicken and also fantastic. The chicken was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy. The final entree we chose was Chicken Low mean. The noodle was different from the Lo Mein noodle that was expected, however it was filled with delicious veggies and again the chicken was delicious and tender. My wife was really impressed with how spicy the soup was for medium rating period of the things we ordered I was somewhat disappointed at the packing attention given to the appetisers. My chicken wings, which were so delicious and crispy whenever I previously had them, or fully soaked in marinated in the side dipping sauce! The sauce container had absolutely not been covered in the lid was on the other side of the container. In addition my drink was all together forgotten. A quick call to the restaurant to end it was refunded. When restaurants are allowed to have people eating more commonly this experience might improve, but take out is no longer an option we will use. read more

It also came out steaming hot--exactly the way I enjoy my food. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the tofu was yummy! The service we received was prompt and attentive without being overbearing. The only part of my experience here, which only slightly bothered me, was the lighting in the restaurant. We went in the afternoon on a sunny day, and were seated in the back but it was darker than I would have preferred. The decor is great but I wish there was more brightness in the back.
