We ordered takeout after a hike and set off for a few hours drive. About 15/20 min into the drive we had realized we had food missing so we called back to have the money for the dishes we did not get, refunded. At this point we were far enough away it would be a huge pain for us to come back for it. The person on the phone was EXTREMELY rude, and kept telling us he would NOT refund any of the food we didn't have. He repeatedly kept telling us he would make it for him and we could pick it up. He did not budge and was very rude on the phone. He hung up on us several times and told us to pick up the food or call our bank. Again by this point we were already far enough away it wasn't worth to drive back, we just simply wanted a refund for our missing items. Food was decent but the service and the way we were talked too was horrendous. I would never give my business to this place again for the way we were treated about something they messed up on. This was our favorite Chinese place and the only one we went to until now. We ordered ahead on Friday night and when I went to pick up our food there were an abundance of signs requiring masks to be worn. I thought that was great and it instilled some confidence in their health practices. I paid and waited to the side where I noticed that the people cooking and handling the food were not wearing masks, only the gentleman ringing people out and one younger/college age female. At first it looked promising.. the food was ready in less than 10 min (which should have been the first red flag). The food was horrible. I got fried rice and lo mein. One was worse than the next. The rice was absolutely tasteless. My boyfriend ordered fried shrimp which was so hard it could take a tooth out. His beef and broccoli had about 3 pieces of beef in it. My friends and I go to Lucky Dragon fairly regularly. It's your average American-Chinese food in a typical Chinese restaurant setting. Recently, the food has gotten a lot better. The food's still pretty greasy, but the portions are HUGE and the prices are very low. There aren't many choices for Chinese restaurants here, but this place is the best one in the nearby area. Seeing the 4.5 stars for a Chinese restaurant in Bennington had made me itch every time I drove past it on my way to and from work. I finally decided to splurge one day and ordered my all time favorite and basic Chinese take-out cravings: chicken wings and shrimp lomein. The wings were different to say the least. They are more like wings you get from KFC or Popeye's with the breaded outer coat, unlike the crispy skin fried wings I'm used to. The taste? Nothing compared to KFC or Popeye's. And of course it wasn't as good as the typical Chinese wings. It wasn't bad. It just didn't fill the craving. The lomein was just... soggy. Noodles weren't firm. Even the shrimps were soggy - a sign that it's on the other side of the freshness spectrum. The greasiness was still there, somewhat true to the name Chinese take-out. But I couldn't finish and didn't want anymore of the dish after a few bites. I still look at the restaurant every time I drove past after that and debated whether I should give it a second try. Maybe it was a bad day. Maybe other dishes would be better. I decided against it. Most of the time, all it takes is one bad experience from one customer. Formerly a Dunkin Donuts, this casual Chinese restaurant offers the standard Chinese menu featuring Cantonese, Hunan, & Szechuan dishes, most priced under $12. There are 41 Lunch Specials ($4.85-$6.30) served until 3PM with pork fried rice or white rice and 34 Combination Platters ($6.90-$8.20) served with pork fried rice & egg roll are offered, They also have a Lunch Buffet (Mon-Sat until 3PM) with around 20+ items ($7.25 eat-in or $4.95 lb), I've been to Lucky Dragon in Bennington a few times for lunch, usually around 1PM. Each time I stop here, I say to myself that I will try the buffet. Some of the items on the buffet included soup, dumplings, fried rice, lo mein, beef & vegetables, chicken & broccoli, potatoes, egg rolls, crab rangoons, chicken skewers, chicken balls, jello, fruit, tiramisu, cheesecake, and Coke fountain drinks (self serve). However, some of the food looked like it was sitting out for a long time and I ended up ordering lunch takeout since the food is cooked fresh. I usually order the L16 Roast Pork Lo Mein ($5.30) with pork fried rice, served in a round microwaveable plastic container. The lo mein dish is really good, which consists of tender sweet roast pork strips, carrots, cabbage, & onions tossed with soft noodles. The fried rice is pretty standard with a mix of roast pork cubes, scallions and soft rice. I will pass on the buffet (unless I can get here at opening time 11AM) and stick to ordering a la carte Chinese food here. read more

Passing through the area, we were hungry and decided a Chinese buffet would be quick, easy, cheap, and decent. I wish I could give less than one star. The buffet itself was extremely limited, and the food that was there clearly had been sitting out for several hours. The only tolerable food was the fried rice, everything else was either tough to chew, tasted terrible, or was suspicious-looking. Hot and Sour Soup is my favorite thing in a Chinese restaurant. Stopped here on our way up to Burlington and quickly regretted the decision. We were starving and happened to notice that this place had a lunch buffet. Even bad Chinese food is pretty good right? Wrong! I got sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, lo mein, and the crab rangoon. The chicken was mostly breading and not very crispy. The little bit of chicken inside tasted and looked like it had been frozen for a very, very long time and it had a bluish tint to it (I really don't want to know what that was all about). The lo mein and fried rice were ok. The crab rangoon was flavorless and chewy. We didn't go back for seconds and at $9 each it was expensive and we left hungry. What was really weird, and kind of funny, were the buffet rules posted. It basically said, don't take more than you can eat. Are they seeing full plates of food left behind and mistakenly thinking people took more than they could eat? I think it's more like took food and found that it was not edible. I've never written a bad review but I would give this place 0 stars if possible. I am not a picky eater but what was served to me tonight was inedible. The sweet and sour pork tasted stale and was impossibly hard to chew. The rice lacked any flavor but they sure packed on the msg and you could feel it sticking in your mouth. And then they brought out something that definitely wasn't chow mein, but they insisted it was. My friend politely pulled the waiter aside after we had one bite of each dish (trying to find any redeeming quality) and let him know that we weren't able to eat it. He said it would be fine and that we didn't need to pay but then he told his boss. We heard yelling and then what I think is the owner of the place came out and started yelling at us. We tried to calmly explain the issue we had and volunteered to pay for the sodas and egg rolls to leave some money. He kept saying that we ordered it so we have to pay. He then said he even switched out the chow mein for lo mein (which we never asked for- also even as a lo mein it was gross) and that we have to pay. After he kept berating us, and after realizing he wasn't able to respectfully communicate, we left money just so we could get out of there. He was rude, unreasonable, and no joke the few bites I ate made my digestive system hurt. This isn't authentic Chinese food, this isn't American-Chinese food, this isn't even dog food. For the sake of your taste buds and digestive system, go somewhere else. read more

I want to preface by saying that I've never complained about a meal at a restaurant before, and I used to live in Asia so I am not a picky eater. SO with that said, this restaurant is both disgusting and the worst customer service I've encountered from whom I assume is the owner. When we were served our meals, the chicken tasted like undercooked rubber - the "sauce" was probably the leftover canola oil and msg that they just poured onto the plate with the chicken. I could barely stomach the bite. The rice tasted old and lacked flavor. The pork we ordered - I actually am not sure what it was but it was stale and not edible. I've never actually had food so bad that I couldn't eat more than one bite, and I asked very politely to be comped our meal. Our waiter was nice and said he'd talk to the manager, and after hearing the manager yelling in the back, he came and screamed at us, essentially saying that we have to pay. I tried to speak politely and he interrupted and continued to yell at us. We ended up just paying because he was making a scene and it was embarrassing. Again, we are not picky eaters, nor do we ever complain, so the fact that we're were treated like this was very disappointing. The pork dumplings are by far the best I've ever had anywhere! They are homemade by the owners and are so juicy and perfect. This Chinese restaurant is a gem and a family-owned business. The food is fantastic! The egg rolls are awesome! I've had them all; my favorites include the pork rolls and shrimp rolls. I've never had their pork buns (aka char siu bao for you dim sum experts) but they looked delish. The staff is always so friendly too.
