The hot stone crisps up the rice at the bottom. I got the pork which was tender. The pork bulgogi has incredible flavor although it is one of the pricier items. Teriyaki chicken tastes like A** ...The Scallion pancakes are disgusting soggy messes... the tempura chicken tastes burnt... and the fried rice is white rice soaked w soy sauce and tastes like mudd... this is from Korean Garden in Williamstown. We enjoyed two lunch specials at Korean Garden after a visit to Mass MOCA. The bibimbap and ramyun in spicy broth were both solid. I especially liked the freshness of the vegetable ingredients in the bibimbap. I also liked the four banchan, including bean sprouts, lettuce kimchi, spicy zucchini, and broccoli. The ramyun noodles were chewy, and the broth had just the right amount of spiciness. The portions were moderate, and the service was, well, serviceable. It appeared that the restaurant is run by a two-person couple team. Things were busy during the lunch hour, so I didn't get a smile out of the staff or any water refilling. We arrived maybe 45mins before they closed for lunch at 3 (seems they're closed 3 to 4 every day). Nice simple interior and good, fast service. They served everything quickly but it didn't feel like they were rushing us. Still would be nice if the closure time was on Google or Yelp. I thought the food was delicious. I got the Kimchi Bokum which was like pan fried kimchi and pork. Not much pork but I didn't mind much. The bento box was also good and had interesting variety. Korean Garden - A Hidden Gem in The Shire Korean food has always been one of my go-to cuisines when hunger strikes. But let's be honest--finding a great Korean spot can be tough in some areas. So imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon Korean Garden, a true hidden gem tucked away in The Shire. As usual, I walked in absolutely starving and ready to indulge. We were warmly greeted by a sweet ajumma at the door and seated by the front window. The place was small and cozy, with only a handful of tables--just the kind of spot that usually means home-cooked goodness. I ordered my usual favorites: Galbi, Bulgogi, and Spicy Udon Soup. My Korean came in handy and made ajumma smile when I told her I had lived in Munsan for a few years. She lit up, introduced herself and her husband, and we had a lovely chat. I mentioned I'd be relocating to The Shire soon and that they'd be seeing a lot more of me. The banchan came out first--and wow, we got a generous variety. They even asked if we'd like refills (dangerous question for someone like me). Each one was fresh and flavorful--if I wasn't careful, I could have emptied their fridge. When our mains arrived, everything looked (and tasted) amazing. The portions were big enough that I needed a takeout bag--which means lunch tomorrow is covered too! I'll definitely be back. Korean food in the berkshires. My companion had a lunch special and liked it. I had the tofu stew and was disappointed. Its cramped inside and the staff isnt too cordial. When I ordered my soondooboo jjigae, they didnt ask how spicy I wanted it, and it arrived mild-medium. The tofu was scrambled into tiny pieces, and Ive never seen that happen. In my experience Korean restaurants normally cut the pieces large enough that you can enjoy the texture and see it on your spoon. I didnt like the food, it was really unappealing visually and texture wise. No refills on banchan. read more

This place is itty bitty with all of maybe 5 tables and boy is catching a seat a steal. The service is amazing and the food follows suite. Authentic Korean always hot and full of flavor. My go to order is the hot stone bi bim bap with pork and receiving it at the table makes me feel like Im in a studio ghibli film. Who would have thought -- a tiny place (maybe 8 tables) in a shopping center in rural Massachusetts would be a place with terrific Korean food? Well, it is! And we live a short distance from some of the best Korean restaurants in North Jersey and this one could compete with any of them! The owners (also the chefs) are welcoming and the dishes come out quickly. And as an added bonus, they have Korean beer which goes great with the dishes. Storefront in a big parking lot doesn't look like much, but this is an excellent little spot for the Adams/Williamstown area. They serve great authentic Korean dishes as well as a variety of other East Asian cuisines. I had the beef bulgogi which were spiced perfectly, with just the right amount of spicy kick. I was a bit hesitating at first trying to decide whether to come here, given that Williamstown does not in any way come across as a metropolitan. We did and were all surprisingly amazed at the authenticity of the food served here. We ordered hot stone bi bim bap with tofu, pork bulgogi, BBQ Korean short rib and a tricolor sushi which were all very tasty. Even my boy who has a very selective palate gave two huge thumbs up for his order of the short rib. The complimentary small dishes served before the meal were also excellent. I've got to say that this is a legit Korean / Japanese restaurant, certainly on par with similar restaurants back home. Some dishes were excellent but a couple had some issues with execution. Tucked into a strip mall just a little bit out of town, it's easy to miss. The dining room is small and bright with just a handful of socially-distanced tables. We came a little early and were seated right away; within about 30 minutes all the seats were filled. On our table that evening were: Williams roll - deep fried maki with spicy tuna and avocado. The frying process unfortunately made the rice a little too mushy and greasy, and eating warm sushi is a little unusual, but the overall flavor was fine. Chicken teriyaki - we usually get beef teriyaki, but curiously beef isn't an option here. The chicken had a rubbery texture seemed to have been flattened by tenderizer - that's fine for a pork cutlet but doesn't really work on chicken breast. Not really the restaurant's best effort. Pork katsu - two large pork cutlets, moist and tender. Very good. Hot stone bibimbap - absolutely excellent and the clear highlight of the meal. Generous amount of rice, meat (or tofu for one of us) and vegetables topped with a fried egg. The stone pot kept everything hot for the duration of the meal and imparted a nice fried texture to the rice without causing it to stick to the bowl. Funny thing is that when it was brought to the table I asked for gochujang, but our server didn't know what that was. I told her it was the spicy red sauce that comes with bibimbap and then she understood what was needed. The meal came with a small assortment of panchan, but curiously kimchi was not one of them, nor was there any other spicy option. They did offer a broccoli dish that we'd never seen previously at the Korean restaurants by us. So, in all this was a really good meal and quite authentic, particularly in regard to the Korean part of the dinner. Well done. read more

Stopped in for lunch. The restaurant is in a strip mall and it shares an entrance with the shop next door. It's quite unassuming and has only 6 tables (4 2-tops and 2 4-tops). My husband had the bulgogi bento box and I had the bi bim bab. The food was FANTASTIC, AMAZING and 'DA BOMB! They recently moved to a new location on Route 2/Main St in Williamstown. They could be doing better enforcing masking and distancing inside, but if you order takeout they're happy to bring it to you outside when it's ready as long as you pop in to let them know you're there. My BF got a Miso Soup and the Meat fried dumplings....he loved both of them....He left nothing on the plate, which is unusual...he usually leaves something behind. Worst thing was the consistently & unbelievably rude older Korean woman: didn't seem like waitstaff, was perhaps an owner. From the get-go, she looked & sounded annoyed that I had even entered the place. Banchan was refreshing but very little, literally dotting the 4 tiny plates, & when I asked if I could have some more: "no!" Seafood broth was tasty but only half the bowl full, & with 2 shrimp, 2 clams, a tiny piece of octopus & a few disappearing slivers of fish: pricey at 20-ish $. Accompanying rice was also in a tiny bowl, not hardly enough for the soup, & would've paid for more, but "no!" Finally she ran after me when I left: I thought I had forgotten some personal item at the table, but she thrust change in my face from the cash paid, saying 'she doesn't need it, I can have it!'
