The place is cozy, homey, rustic with a slight romantic touch with the candles everywhere. The playlist is an amazing throwback to the past. Inside and outside is a delight! The service was great! Can't say more than that, they made it even better the stay. Pizza takes about 20-25 minutes so I highly suggest an appetizer. My man and I ordered the Raviolis just for a change, I saw almost all orders of Kale salad just thought we needed a little more substance we were super hungry. The Raviolis came with pepper and I've never had spicy Raviolis! I was obsessed! My mother makes raviolis from scratch and from now on I'll have days when I add peppers too. What a delicious piece. We shared it, but if you're really hungry, this plate stands alone as a delicious second meal. The pepperoni pizza was amazing!!! I love thin crust and my man told me I'd love this place. He was right. What a delicious sauce! Also another favorite part of a pizza for me. Cheesy, just great. Finally, for dessert the Nutella pie was out of this world. My mother used to make sweet ricotta when we didn't have dessert and I loved that. This twist of adding Nutella and an empanada was superb. I would have wanted an entire dessert for myself!!! This place is so noisy that you come in and you get out and you need to go to the emergency room for the headache. It's insane. I never seen a place so f loud in my life. I've been excited to come back to Lucali ever since I tried the pizza over a year ago. I've tried twice since, but later in the evening, and it's always been too busy. They don't take reservations, so the hostess recommended we come for lunch since there's a lot more availability. She was right --there was no problem getting a table. Crazy wait however, the pizza is delicious! Crispy and airy! (Not my type of pizza but it was delicious) The calzone is filled with cheese, nice little touch of coal taste from the oven. Lucali what a yummy place! Make sure you get there earlier than normal because most of the days, after 7 pm there is a 30-60 min waiting time. However, the pizza here is so worth it! Let's start first with the drinks! If you like tequila, their Sunset Harbor is delicious! Or a bottle of wine here is pretty good and pretty good prices! I usually start with the Kale Salad which is creamy, kale is soft and there is plenty of parmesan cheese! Also, the Artichokes are delicious with red sauce and cheese on top, and their meatballs are my friends' favorites! For the pizza, you got the option to add your toppings, each topping is like $4 each so that will be adding up the base price of your pie (only basil and I think garlic are free). I usually go for the mushrooms, onions, and ricotta cheese (that ricotta cheese is delicious with the sauce), a pie is good for 3 people who love pizza! (Although I have eaten half a pie before if I'm starving). But you don't want to get super full because you need space for the dessert here! Their Nutella Pizza is always a win-win!! Located among the great restaurants on Purdy Ave Lucali is one of the most busiest ones. A great time to go is a Monday or Tuesday. The pizza is legit. Made with high end ingredients it certainly makes a difference in how the pizza taste. The crust is the best part. Super crisp and nice smoky taste from the wood burning oven. Our server was George. Sophisticated traditional pizza is the best way to describe their pies. What I mean by traditional is non-specialty, your basic crust, tomato sauce, and cheese pizza. Their pizza is far from ordinary. A notch above all the other mom and pop shops, Italian eateries, and football pizza joints. Their pizza looks and tastes a lot better. There are many places in Miami Beach to get pizza, but nothing comes remotely close to the quality of pie you are getting at Lucali's. I reserve 4 stars for Lucali because they are not my favorite pizza place in Miami. That being said, if I want a delicious traditional (non-specialty) pie they are one of my first choices. The pies are large. The ingredients are incredibly fresh. The crust is the perfect texture. Nice and thin, not too crunchy, and the slices stay intact and are easy to handle. The fresh drizzle of olive oil and fresh basil leaves are what really makes their pies stand out. The aroma of the cheese, basil, and fresh extra virgin olive oil elevate the dining experience. The menu is limited. You order a traditional pie and have a select list of toppings to choose from. In my opinion, the simpler the better. When you are preparing such a delicious traditional style pie you really don't have to do too much. The Nutella Pizza is delicious as well. They have a few draft beer selections which is nice. So they ignore you and drop the plate on the table pushing the one with your appetizer to make room. I'm not a fan of places that proactively rip off customers, the kitchen appreciation fee should be coming from the ownership and not a subsidy that is passed down to customers. The front of house and back of house should be paid a decent wage by the ownership directly. The picture doesn't show it but when you receive the merchant copy there is a line to sign and give tip on a check that is already loaded with the standard 18%. Other reviews have posted that picture. You should just charge more for your food/drinks like your competitors do. The restaurant is a must visit if you want a great pizza and chicken wings. Great thin crust pizza. They have one size and you select the toppings. Was really impressed with their wings. If you are a wing lover you have to try them. They were the best wings I've ever had. They are baked in the oven and covered with a sauce to die for. It's "sweet-heat". Not your typical buffalo wing sauce. They have a little kick to them. Tastes like a sweet chili sauce, but there is a touch of honey mixed in the to balance out the flavor. I have been to the Lucali in Brooklyn and it was an incredible experience. Unfortunately, the Lucali's Miami was very disappointing. The center of the pie was true to Brooklyn. Fresh as can be and delicious. However, this is where Miami departs NY. The outer crust, which should be this crisp, yet chewy edge that you dip in Lucali's amazing side of tomato sauce, was a horrible experience. I'm not sure if it was too high heat or what, but the crust was simply two completely thin crisp sheets surrounding pockets of air like a bad cracker. It crumbled in your hand, you couldn't bend the crust to eat the slice properly, and it was completely inedible. There was no crust to eat. It just crumbled away into brittle char. I wish I had a photo of it but I didn't even bother at the time. Not sure if I'll return to Miami, but I'll always go back to Brooklyn. read more

The original restaurant is in Brooklyn and one day want to go check it out, but it's so worth it this pizza. They have a Nutella pizza for dessert that it's to die for, but last time I went we were so full we couldn't order it! They have a great wine list and it's perfect to go with this pizza! You are forced to download their app to order, then once your card is charged, you may get a 2+ hour wait notification. Perhaps I made a mistake and overlooked a warning about the timing before my card was charged, but pizza delivery shouldn't be this complicated. When I tried to cancel, I repeatedly got a voicemail that did not allow me to leave a message. In short, I was not able to speak to a human. 5 stars for food, 1 star for delivery service. One of the best pizzas in Miami!! I love Lucali because they have simple, good quality ingredients and it shows in the pizza. You will not go wrong with any of the topping you choose. Pizza and Calzone! That's all you need to know and all you need to order. We went classic Neapolitan with the pizza "Plain Pie" - cheese, tomato, and basil. Honestly, I could've topped it with some of their topping offerings like the sausage and mushroom. It was definitely a missed opportunity. The pizza was still good regardless, best Neapolitan I've ever had. Surprisingly, my ultimate favorite is the calzone. It's funny because I've watched a lot of videos of Mark (the owner) and he always tells people to order the calzone and that they won't regret it. I did just that... ate it, fell in love with it, and wanted more. The filling of burrata cheese with the added pepperoni, wow. The sauce on the side is also a great touch to help give it another layer of decadence. Ultimately, the crust on the pizza and the calzone is everything. It's light, airy, rustic, and hearty. Right? All the above.... just crazy. Nothing that I've had before. I rarely eat traditional pizzas like this because I'm not a pizza purist. However, this pie and calzone reminded that I don't need all the frills of crazy flavor combinations/toppings/fillings. It's obviously great to be progressive with pizza flavors, but Lucali reminds us that simple quality ingredients can pack a powerful punch of flavor as well.
