Very good pizza! Super crunchy and thin, good ingredients; will def be back eventually! Outside seating is pretty bare
I may have just found one of my favorite pizzas in the city. As someone who loves a pizza crispy, spicy, and adorned with sausage or pepperoni, Fratesi's said say less and offered precisely that at the highest quality possible. With an unassuming exterior and location, once you walk in, you discover one of Miami's most special hidden finds. With impeccable service and a simple menu, we were ready to go very quickly, ordering the special happy hour spritz, caesar tahini salad and half demon pig girl and half San Gennaro and I couldn't pick a favorite. The Tahini Salad was outstanding as well and the Spritz was surprisingly deliciousss! The pie is huge and we had so much left over that for the price I truly think it is very worth it! I also can't forget that we got the tiramisu to end the night and it was one of the best tiramisus I have had, ever. I can not wait to be back, please do yourself a favor and check it out for yourself!
This pizza was awesome! Some of the best I've had in Miami. I miss New England pizza sooo much, so this was a great find. The crust was very thin, crispy, and held up extremely well to the toppings. Limited topping options, but very cool pies. If the review was solely about the food I would give a 4 star. We got one pizza and water, and the bill was $50. That's pretty crazy to me, but I guess that's just eating out in Miami anymore. What we didn't love was that we were told it would be over an hour for a table inside, so we agreed to an outside table because we were so excited to try this spot. The couple who walked in after us who also didn't have a reservation got sat at an inside table only 5 minutes after we got ours outside. I'm 6 months pregnant and it was extremely hot outside, so I didn't appreciate being told it would be over one hour for a table that opened up right away. They also had some very interesting music choices... they played "my d!ck" by Mickey Avalon, and was truly the wildest music I've ever heard at a restaurant. We cracked up, but there were kids inside and I would have been upset if I had my kids there and that song came on.
I waited a long time for the opportunity to go to try this delicious pizza and it was sooo worth the wait! My party of 3 didn't have reservations but we got there early enough to snag a few seats at the bar, which was actually perfect. They had a movie showing (The Mummy) so it definitely brought the nostalgic 90s pizza spot vibes and I live for it. We started with THEE tahini Caesar salad and friends that's no ordinary salad. It is topped with crispy breadcrumbs, tossed in the perfect amount of dressing and layered with bed of freshly grated cheese that just makes you want to devour the entire thing face first, lol. To drink they offer wines, beers and non alcoholic drinks but we got a nice bottle of Prosecco to share. Now down to pies, the Carmelita is heavenly and was our top contender. You don't need to add anything, because it is truly perfectly made. We also got The Pie but added pepperoni and pork sausage. The pepperoni outshined the pork sausage, imo so next time I'll just do the pepp. Also, Vlad took care of us at the bar and gave us great recommendations! Can't wait to come back!
Fratesi's is the perfect addition to Downtown and hits the mark on the food, service and atmosphere. The restaurant is small but feels very welcoming and has an old school pizza place vibe. All of the staff and servers were great as well. For food, we got the tahini Cesar and half demon pig girl and half San Gerrano. Both were delicious. The crust is perfectly crispy and the toppings don't overwhelm the pizza. This place lives up to the hype and I will be back! Be sure to order head or make a reservation though, it is still crowded
We had a great time at Fratesi! A bit of an adventure to find, i suggest parking about 5 minutes away in a garage and then walking. There is a nice old school tavern restaurant as well as outdoor seating. We sat outside. The hostess and waitress were very friendly and accommodating. They let me wait at the table longer while my friends were stuck in traffic. We started off with the tahini caeser. I was a bit reluctant after reading the reviews online, but it is a MUST GET if you like caesar and tahini. The nutty notes really come through and i love the crunchy breadcrumbs atop the fresh salad. The perfect pairing to a any pizza. For pizzas we had the vodka pie and the demon pig boy. We ordered extra hot honey and drizzled it over the vodka pie it is sooo good. The pizza is thin and crispy with no flop. The sauce is properly spiced. The demon pig boy has a bit of a spicy kick. It is very tasty with the pepperoni, chili oil, and peppers. It was a bit too much for my palate, i preferred the vodka. It's nice to have a simple pie sometimes. I would definitely return for another caesar and to try the carmelita!
This place has very chill ambient and vibe, loved the cartoons playing on the tv. The staff were very friendly and helpful. And the food was delicious!
So so so so so so salty, I couldn't finish my second piece of pizza. I am not sure if we didn't order right but I was trying to figure out where the salty part was coming from and I think it was the dough. We ordered the tahini Cesar salad which was very good. The service was great and everyone was extremely nice the place gave an old school pizza vibe.
Delicious thin pizza!! Loved the vibes of the restaurant and all the old school pictures. Salad had great flavor but could have used a little more dressing. Demon pig boy was our favorite of the two pizzas we ordered. Perfect spicy level! Demon pig girl had more of a watery or wet aspect to it. Both tasty!! Will definitely be back to try a white pizza.
Really enjoy this thinner style of pizza. Reminds me of a good new haven style pie! They prepare it thin and bake it hot so the bottom is ever so slightly charred and the results are delicious. The menu is pretty simple with a few salads and a few pizza options - and the pizzas and salads themselves are pretty simple. This works well here, they give the pizza itself an opportunity to shine. Service was good and we were seated promptly at the time of our reservation, which it's advisable to have. Cute ambiance inside is homey and reminiscent of an old school pizza parlor. A good experience!
Fratesi's Pizza absolutely lives up to the hype. I went on a Sunday afternoon, was able to walk in without a reservation and get seated immediately at the bar, huge plus. While afternoons are easy for walk-ins, I highly recommend making a reservation if you're going for dinner after 5pm, as that's when they start taking reservations and the place really fills up. We started with the tahini Caesar salad, which was an excellent and a great way to kick things off. For pizza, we ordered a half plain pie and half pepperoni with hot honey, plus a whole pie with sausage, peppers, and onions and a bolted of white wine. Every single slice was delicious. The crust is very thin and very crispy, almost cracker-like in the best way possible. Zero flop, the slices hold up perfectly. The vibe is also a win. It feels like an old-school pizzeria / classic Italian restaurant. Can't wait to come back.
Outstanding New Haven bar pie. Every bite is full of CRUNCH and jammed pack with flavor. There's no flop. This pizza is as stiff as a cracker, but the crust is all pizza crust. Also keep in mind that the salad dressings are homemade and well worth trying. The Caesar salad and a plain pie are my go-to items.
I feel confident saying this was the best pizza I've ever had in my life. We ordered for takeout. The order was supposed to take close to an hour, but we got the "pizza is ready" text within 30mins. My only regret is that I didn't order another pie. I can't wait to go back.

Yeah... we're still thinking about this pizza. Fratesi's opens at 5PM and apparently everyone else in Miami knows what's up because this place fills up QUICK. Tables get booked, the bar gets booked... basically, make the reservation. We started with the tahini Caesar and then did the only reasonable thing: ordered the pizza half & half: Demon Pig Boy + Demon Pig Girl. Then came the extras: hot honey, parmesan and chili flakes. My GOD. Sweet, spicy, cheesy, crispy... the kind of pizza where you take a bite, look across the table and don't even have to say anything. The extra hot honey absolutely belongs on it, btw. The space makes it even better: red walls, wood paneling, vintage art, stained-glass lights. It feels nostalgic without trying too hard, and once the place fills up, it has that cozy, buzzy energy we love. This isn't a "glad we tried it" place. It's a "when are we going back?" place. read more

The pizza here is too tier and I get the hype! They pizzas are Chicago style, virtually no crust and very crispy. The toppings are top notch and flavorful. The space itself is small, so keep that in mind if you're eating there. They were pretty popular when we went by so we took our pie to go. The service was good decent and they don't push you out. We tried the Demon Pig Boy which was delish! I'm definitely planning to try some other things next time! read more

Really delicious NJ style pizza - loved the vodka pizza (saucy), demon pig boy (pepperoni and Calabrian chili oil), demon pig girl (sausage and hot honey), and Carmelita (like a margherita). Yes Fratesi's Pizza is that good. A great bar thin crust pizza with delicious toppings and a perfectly charred bottom that leaves your mouth salivating for more. And yes it is also a real pain to get a table here. The reservation system is cutthroat and once you get to the restaurant you will most likely have to wait a bit for your table and also wait a bit for the food to come out. My advice is to make a reservation for right when it opens and then still show up 20 minutes before that. Any other method and you will be waiting at some point in the process. The restaurant is good though, decorated like an old school bar with brickwork and posters about. The booths feel private and comfortable for four people. And the wait staff is pretty nice considering there's probably a lot of people who are constantly upset. But overall the pizza is good and worth coming to. Just make sure you're not in a rush. read more
This spot has been the hardest spot to get resys as of late and I think it's worth the hype. They serve some bar style pizza that ranged from $22-$30. While it does sound expensive for pizza, they are big enough to share and pricing is typical for Miami considering the quality of these zas. The pizza itself is thin but holds its weight. Crispy, definitely not for someone who likes thick zas. It feels like a fancy chip almost. They dont reserve seats for walk ins, and pick up orders close very soon after opening. So your only bet is to make a reservation. read more

**Vegetarian Friendly** OH sooooo worth the wait!! Very tiny pizza spot - so very hard to get a reservation. Love that they have a small, but mighty, menu. The pizza is so thin and perfectly crisp. The service is good and quick - which is why the pizza is pipping hot when it gets to the table. Our Order: (1) Red Top - This is their version of a tomato pie and was delicious. (2) Carmelita - Classic take on a cheese pizza, and you can't go wrong! (3) Demon Pig Boy - This was our favorite pie. It was spicy without the calabrian chili oil on top (we got this on the side) and we skipped the pepperoni. I wish it had a drizzle of hot honey to balance the spice. They can make some pies half-and-half, which we loved. Leftovers did not do well from here. Overall, worth the hype. Just wish it was a bigger spot PS: Absolutely make a reservation - which open about two weeks out at a time. They take walk-ins but you could wait 2+ hours and still not get seated. read more

The option to do half-and-half pies was a huge win since I went with friends and we wanted to try multiple combinations. This is a classic, old-school pizza spot tucked into a slightly sketchy part of downtown Miami. Inside feels like an old diner--checkered tablecloths, wooden chairs, nothing fancy. Just a chill, no-frills vibe that lets the pizza do the talking. The pizza itself is thin, crispy!! No fancy ingredients, no overwhelming menu. You start with a basic pie and add toppings for about $2-$3 each, which keeps things simple and focused. But let's talk salads, because they're unexpectedly excellent. The arugula salad is simple but so fresh -- just crisp greens with lemon, olive oil, and shaved Grana Padano that tastes incredibly bright alongside the rich pizza. And the other green options (including their Caesar-style salads) are very well-made and refreshing; They have four or five beers on their menu as well as a couple of red and white wines as well. Pro tip: make a reservation. We had one for 9:00 PM and showed up on time, but the hostess was incredibly kind and suggested we wait in case of a cancellation--and it worked. Hands down the best pizza in Miami. This place has it all. Friendly and quick service, old school pizza parlor yet cool atmosphere, and fantastic food. The menu is limited but clearly everything on it is a hit. The crust on the pizza was so crispy, even the parts with sauce were still crispy and flaky on the bottom. Perfect sauce cheese ratio. We also got the chili oil to put on it- elite. And the tahini caesar salad?! I never want any other salad in my life. Could eat this meal every day. read more

My son called me recently to say he and his girlfriend had scored a reservation at the viral spot... Fratesi's. It started as an occasional monthly pop-up at Tâm Tâm's and just opened its brick and mortar this week. I was SO excited. We made our way through the construction site that is Flagler Downtown and arrived at the unmarked location. No signs... which honestly made it feel like you were in on a delicious little secret. Walk in and you're greeted by a giant Henry and Karen Hill poster from Goodfellas and a space that screams classic NYC pizza parlor. The vibe was perfection. The staff? Incredible. From the hostesses to our sweet and enthusiastic waitress Annie, everyone made us feel welcome. We got seated at a booth and started exploring the menu. We shared a Caesar salad and each ordered our own pizza, planning to take leftovers home. Since they don't do takeout or delivery, this was clearly my son's clever little loophole. First came the salad... large, crunchy, and topped with the most addictive crispies. Then came the RED TOP, my son's girlfriend's pick. Vegan and cheeseless, but full of flavor. I especially loved the thin slices of garlic scattered throughout. My son had raved about how crisp and thin the pizza was -- and he was right. #ZeroFlop. The crust had that perfect cracker-like crunch and a beautiful char. We were already full when the rest of the pies arrived, but I still had to sneak a bite of my CARMELITA. SO. GOOD. I'm still thinking about it. Annie kindly boxed everything up and we headed home, each happily toting our own pizza box. I'm already planning my next visit. I need to try the DEMON PIG GIRL (Annie confirmed the sausage is chicken) and COSMO'S MOON... and a Plain Pie with add-ons. This place is a total gem. Fratesi's nailed it. read more

This viral crispy pizza is everything you think it is AND MORE! The location is comfortable, I would recommend booking a reservation but they do also take walk ins but it is limited. Now all the pizzas are to die for. Me and my kid usually share a full pepperoni pizza and I half it with fresh garlic (it's soooo good). We also love grabbing half cheese half demon pig girl and it is sooooo delicious. I definitely recommend coming by - parking can be a little bit but work with the construction. It's worth the journey. read more

I had been wanting to go to Fratesi's for some time and I finally got the chance a couple of weeks ago and I am glad that I did. The decor of the restaurant feels like an old school pizzeria/Italian restaurant and I absolutely loved it because you feel like you're in another era and it is just a chill vibe. We got the demon pig boy and I loved it as I love spicy food! If you do not like spiciness, this is not the pizza for you. I thought it was delicious and I am very much into the thin crispy pizza these days. We got a bottle of white wine that was nicely priced in my opinion and tasted yummy. Our server was helpful and polite, absolutely no complaints there. The overall experience was wonderful and I will definitely be coming back for more pizza and hoping to try out the Caesar salad next as well! read more
Pizza is overhyped to be honest. Also, we made a reservation but were not sat for 40 minutes after. It was quite warm in the restaurant due to the ovens, we ended up sweating while eating. Server was great though! And price reasonable. Overall, I'd prefer to go back to Miami slice than return here, maybe the uber-thin crusts aren't my thing but I think they could have been a lot more exciting with the topping combinations. I actually think I liked the tahini Caesar salad more than the pie itself. read more

When we walked inside, we were greeted immediately by the hostess. They only had outdoor seating, as we did not have a reservation. The outside was nice, there was a sketchy guy outside, but once we said something he was asked to leave. We ordered the arugula salad and the tahini Cesar. Both were amazing. We dug in before I could get pictures. Squeeze the lemon on the Cesar, elevates it to another level. We got the plain pie and the Carmelita. The crust was perfectly crisp. Seriously great pizza. A coworker recommended this place. I'm from NYC and my partner is from Chicago. Finding good pizza in south Florida is a task. We walked in and were put on the waiting list for a table. The ambiance is nice & the staff was decent. We ordered a pepperoni pizza with half including basil and chicken sausage. It was good but very salty. Our waitress was attentive but delivered the wrong drinks and took a while to bring the correct ones. We shared a pie and towards the end (maybe an hr) we were told that they needed our table for other guests. Understood but they were not chill about it. I used a Resy credit so I wasn't too upset but I'm not sure if I'd return. read more

I absolutely love this spot! Being from NJ, I am super picky with pizza especially thin crust. This is one of the better thin crust pizza spots in SoFlo. My personal favorite is the Demon Pig Girl and the white pie. They also make their own hot honey which is delicious and a great addition to their pizza. The caesar salad is one of my favorites I have ever had! read more
Great spot. Good service with cool friendly staff. Place is small and it gets crowded. Pizza is super thin, like others said it's like a cracker. Flavor was good. Happy they have a vegan option (no cheese.) Husband got half pig boy (spicy) and half plain. Would definitely recommend. Parking is tricky since there is a lot of construction in the area. read more

Nestled in the heart of downtown. The best way to find it is to follow the road block area near Wells Fargo. I parked on the street and walked a few blocks is the best solution or the nearby parking garage. Upon entering you get a very cozy ambiance with the red color walls to look like bricks, almost like a wood fire oven. It's small not too big. I sat at the bar where there were about 8 chairs. Claude my server was very friendly and recommended the spicy pepperoni pizza. The pizza was huge and it only comes in one size. First bite was crispy around the thin crust and slightly cheesy with a kick of spice. it was spicy and salty just the way I like it. Overall it was delicious. If you are craving the thin crust pizza this is place to come. read more

I really enjoyed my visit. The Ceasar salad was incredible with lots of flavor. The pizza was cracker thin and delicious. We ate at the bar and the bartender was very sweet and attentive. They had old movies and music playing. It was a great vibe. read more
