Surprised by the amount of negative reviews. We called two place to fix our engine misfire. Firestone and Lube A Lot (Papa Bears Auto Center). Firestone quoted us $270 just for changing spark plugs. Lube quoted us only $149. Obviously we chose Lube and had a pleasant experience. If they don't have a specific part for your car, they will have an employee go to the auto store for you to buy the proper part, so you can relax. The staff in general were very polite, and made you feel at ease. Also there was no pressure in up-selling. Was also offered a free car wash afterwards. Recommend to anyone looking for an honest experience in auto services. read more

The "manager" starts arguments whenever you tried to get any information from your vehicle. The WORST place to take your car to do anything... They don't know what they're doing, I took my car twice to do an oil change and the employees didn't communicate with me about what was happening with my car. I had an oil leak problem and they didn't tell me!! The next time I was told to come back for the next oil change was 130k miles but I went before (127k miles) because my car was doing a weird noise. And till then is when they told me I've had a leaking problem since the first time I took it there which again they NEVER TOLD ME ... When I tried to talk to the "manager" he was so RUDE and disrespectful to me, he didn't accept it was the employees fault for not letting me know and he kick me out the office. Now my car is burning oil and about to break down... I paid $280 total for them to mess up my car pretty much. So help yourself from having a bad day and deal with disrespectful people and DO NOT GO THERE. read more

I see some bad reviews here. I thought I would post one that is a bit more positive. I have been a customer of Lube-A-Lot for 5 years now. I often get a free espresso or a free car wash along with oil and lube service. I have never been over sold or pressured. I've been going here since my dealer warrenty expired and usually don't have an issue. Yesterday I brought in my car for my usual 5000 mile oil filter change and though I expect up selling I was surprised when they showed me how dirty my transmission fluid was and suggested I get it serviced. Problem is they showed me slightly pink automatic trans fluid but my car is a manual. I said thanks but I'll pass and left when they were completed. I don't think I'll be using there service anymore. read more

I went in and asked for a regular oil change, I was offered a synthetic blend or a full synthetic. I said no I just want a standard oil change. When they were done I found out they used a blend and up charged me for it. When I called then they denied everything I said. Whatever happened to getting what you want? I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you like to be misled and raped by their price and up charges. I've been a customer here since about 2005 and they've seen two of my vehicles and two of my wife's and now our daughter's. They greet me, seat me, then go to work! They always check the tires and filters (never been hard sold on filters/wipers) and give me a free car wash. You get a discounted drink at their coffee stand too. It's always been a pleasant experience and no issues. read more

As for the actual oil change, decent, seemed fine. Price wasn't great, but around normal. My main issue was the guy at the counter...didn't make eye contact, very monotone, pushy with his sales pitches...made me feel like I was inconveniencing him. Go up the road to the GoodYear rather than give these guys your money. read more

I had my last prepaid service at the Ford dealership and they told me I need a cooling system flush and that my car is leaking transmission fluid from somewhere. They were not sure where the leak was coming from and it would cost me over $100 per hour just to locate the leak. Someone recommended Lube A Lot to me and I decided I would have them do the cooling system flush as it would be cheaper than the dealership and while I was in there I asked if they could maybe tell me if they noticed transmission fluid leaking. I went in early on a Saturday morning and explained what I wanted to the mechanic. I think he was also the manager and/or owner. I am very sorry I can't remember his name. I was in the lobby maybe 5 min. when he came back and said that I don't need a cooling system flush and that I am far from needing one. He could have done it and charged me for it and I would not have had a clue that it did not need to be done. He then took me to the car and showed me how he found it when he opened the hood. The dealership had left the transmission cap off. I hated going to the dealership before this but now I will never go back if it can be helped. Finally since it looked like I didn't actually need anything done, I asked if I could at least pay him for his time and he said "no don't worry about it". Trust in someone working on my car is huge to me and this place has proven to be very honest. I will be taking my car in for all my oil changes in the future. read more

If you like your car, don't service it here. I went in because I knew my coolant was low as the heat in my car wasn't working consistently. I had checked the coolant and found the reservoir empty. The service took forever, and the employees were having a grand time being social with one another. They seemed to be not doing anything and I asked how much longer it would be. I was told they were waiting for a replacement filter from the parts store. When I agreed to have them change it, I assumed it was in stock. It was not explained to me that it would add an additional 30+ minutes while we waited for the part. I finally got out of there and went home and parked in my clean garage. Early the next morning I headed out of town and across the pass with my infant child. On route to my destination I discovered the heat still wasn't working correctly. I checked the coolant and wouldn't you know it, the reservoir was still empty. Looking at my receipt, I noticed that it was noted the coolant was checked. I immediately called the owner who told me I had a leak. I stood by the fact the coolant was in fact never checked, I park in a garage, and would know if I had lost an entire tank of coolant. The owner was rude, belittling and wouldn't even apologize. I demanded a refund. He refused. He told me I would have to come in person and he would perform another service. I respectfully decline and indicated no one from his business would ever touch my car again. He insisted that I come into the office to talk to him. When I went in a few days later, the owner again started a song and dance that I had a leak and his people did nothing wrong. He had a waiting room of customers and it was only when I loudly spoke of the negligence of his employees and how they lied and indicated they checked fluid levels that they didn't, that he backed down. If they didn't check the coolant, what else did they not check or half ass? I also indicated I would be giving a negative review on Yelp. At that point, he said he would give me a refund. He refused a credit card refund which was my method of payment, but insisted on writing me a check which took another 15 minutes. When he handed me the check he said he would only give it to me if I promised not to write any negative reviews. Seriously. Save yourself the headache, the insults and the bullying.....drive down the street to Penzoil where they provide fast and polite service, or anywhere else for that matter. read more

I had used them for an oil change the previous year. All went well, but little did I know that they do not carry compression ring for the drain plug on European cars, and also failed to mention it. The second time I used them was a nightmare. I went in for an oil change in November 2012. I also had an engine flush, as they had recommended it. Total cost around $180 which included 6 quartz of synthetic oil. They again, used the same compression plug. I noticed oil on my garage floor the next day. I took it back to them to see what the problem was. The young kid with the leather jacket tightened the drain plug and sent me on my way. 2 weeks later, my oil light goes off. I took it back to them that day after calling with the issue. I pull into the bay and the owner directs me in. I get out and the first thing he says to me, "Without looking under the car, I can tell you what the problem is. It is the compression ring. We don't carry that brand, but If you go and buy one, I will replace the old one". He then went down under the car to see. 5 minutes later he comes up with a picture on his cell phone saying that it was not the plug, but a seal that is leaking behind the engine. He then takes me down to show me what he found. The first thing I notice is that the oil plug had been wiped clean including the oil pan. He then points to this gasket and tells me that I need to take it to the dealership as it is a serious issue. I did see oil at that location. I took it to the dealership. They replaced the compression ring. According to them, it was evident where the oil was coming from. $125 for an additional oil change. I went to the lube shop for a refund. He denied my request. He blamed the dealership for misinformation and refused a refund. He said it was the gasket that was leaking oil and it was not his problem. He was the rudest person I have ever had the misfortune of doing business with. I will never go back and I recommend that you do the same. Go to Jiffy Lube on 164th. You will have a better experience than me. Since the compression ring was changed, I do not have an oil leak. read more

I have been going to this location for several years, the kids working were not the most professional no smiles, talking about their weekends in front of customers but most of all stone faced when discussing the needs of my car. The last time I went the drained my transfer case and OOPS forgot to fill it, this costing me $2700 later for a new one. My mechanic who is very reputable went over what basically happened and I took all the info to Lube-A-Lot and talked with the owner who talked down to my husband and I telling us his son would not make a mistake like that and that they told me it was empty before. Hmm really? It would have broke down at that time! Anyway I asked if he would be willing to pay for all or most of it since it was proven to be their mistake, he said absolutely no way.
