Not sure what happened here today. Technician seemed agitated that I asked to dispose of some oil from my garage there and half heartedly offered to dispose of it if I paid a ridiculous $50 fee. He then quickly took a look at my car and brought it back to the front without doing the oil change. He said I had a leaking coolant pump which is highly unlikely at 30k miles. I asked what that had to do with an oil change and he said that he didn't want to be responsible when my engine blows up. Needless to say, I inspected it myself. There was no coolant leak. I took it to another oil change facility and they changed my oil no problem and confirmed that there was no coolant leak. Very strange interaction and very rude technician for reasons I don't understand. read more

Service was sluggish at best as this store is understaffed compared to past visits. 2 people for 2 service bays? The 45 minute visit with only a car in each bay ahead of me when I arrived is concerning but was not my issue today. Starting my career as a Lincoln Mercury dealership mechanic in the early 1970s, I have been in sales and service in the automotive aftermarket & truck repair industry for 40+ years and during those years of experience, have learned a little about vehicles and maintenance schedules. The product and service upsell here never stops! My 2011 Ranger has 50k miles on the clock and during the last few visits, the pressure from Nadya for unnecessary additional services started. I understand being shown a dirty air filter that needs replacing and have always agreed to that replacement. After Nadya pitched how contaminated my power steering fluid was during a previous service, I declined and opted to "flush" my own power steering pump which included emptying the reservoir, hoses and rack and pinion with new fluid about 90 days before today's visit. Even though this fluid was fresh, that same $69.95 flushing service was offered again with Nadya insisting it was contaminated and needed immediate attention because, it should be red in color, not clear! ???? By the way, a quart of power steering fluid was $5.00 and the process took less than 20 minutes for me to drain, refill and bleed air out of the system. Please note that the replacement power steering fluid that I purchased was manufactured by a reputable national supplier and that it was designed specifically for installation in power steering pumps and clear in color, not red like the automatic transmission fluid she insisted must be used. The original fluid that I removed was also clear but had darkened and become cloudy over time. I now have grown weary of the constant upsell of premature services offered here at Nadya's Grease Monkey that frequently don't agree with my vehicle manufacturer's maintenance schedule for the highway driving I perform daily. My owner's manual states 7,500 miles for regular oil changes. I have used Mobil 1 synthetic oil (which should enjoy longer service intervals between changes, not less) since day one, yet the sticker they place on my windshield always says to return in 5,000 miles! My Ford owners manual states under normal operating conditions, automatic transmission service for my vehicle should be performed at 60,000 miles and her sales pitch for this service started at 41K! There is no mention anywhere in the maintenance schedule to ever flush the power steering pump fluid during the service life of the vehicle! It is a sealed system with no combustion or introduction to contaminants! It is not difficult to recognize this arm over the shoulder and 'trust me" style is a hard sell tactic to earn additional commissions or incentives, and not services that are needed by me to properly maintain my vehicle. I have been bringing multiple vehicles here for regular Mobil 1 oil changes and filters over the last 5 years and after experiencing this aggressive & outright rude treatment today, my future vehicle maintenance will not be performed at this Grease Monkey ever again. read more

Every time I've come here the people working there are super nice. They are also very quick, even when there is a queue ahead of me I'm always surprised at how fast they are done. I went to do the oil change of my car and two white girls told me to wait inside. I went inside as they requested but it was super hot I told her that the heater was too high and they responded that the temperature was for them and not for the customers. I stay in from cause I couldn't stand the heat. They told me that I couldn't stay there and I told them again that inside was too hot for me. They started to treat me bad without any reason. And I said that I didn't want my oil to be changed than and they started yelling and telling me bad words and called the police on me. They express to the police that it was a Spanish guy that didn't wanted to pay the service. Police come and ask me what was happening and I explained to them and said that my car wasn't even ready. The police apologize and left. This two girls are racist for sure it is not other reason for the bad experience I had in this place. Oil change prices are up at GM Lynnwood, quality is way down. For the SECOND time at this location, I found that my oil plug had not been properly tightened, therefore leaving oil stains in my newer driveway. Once I noticed the LEAK , only after a few days, I quickly brought the vehicle back to Nadia (manager), who brushed it off as an oversight and lack of "quality assurance" as if it happens more often than not. I was very disappointed that the Manager did not take this more seriously or even offer a discount on a future oil change. She did not want to hear about the stains in my new driveway. read more

I wish I could leave zero stars. Never have I wished this. And I didn't realise it until I got home. Unfortunately, as a woman I have to be skeptical of any mechanic or auto service place. As a wife, I must be diligent that when getting service for my husband's car, I don't mess it up. So he says "this place has good reviews. This is what I'd like. Call me if you need to". It was Sunday, and dealerships don't do car work on Sunday. So grease monkeys it was. They seem nice, personable. Like they're looking out. He asks me what year my vehicle is. Not my vehicle, I don't know. I go to reach for the owners manual, but he says "no that's OK, just pop the hood". He looks at something and tells me the year. Closes the hood. So I ask him how much the synthetic is, out the door with tax. "I'm not from here, I'm not familiar with the tax rate", I say. So he goes and looks at my plate, sees Michigan, then goes and talks to his Co workers. When he comes back, I ask him what's wrong. He says he's trying to figure out if it's two wheel or four wheel drive, because there's a price difference, by 15 dollars. I say "I can call and ask, but I know it's *not* all wheel drive". He says not to worry about it and he can figure it out. I still called my husband (twice), who informed me it's front wheel drive. Before I called my husband the 2nd time, I told the attendant "I've only got 100 on me, so I need to make sure I stay below that". Suddenly, a 75 dollar oil change turns into almost 97 out the door, and he informs me according to "his" specs, our vehicle is all wheel drive. Nowhere in, on, or around our vehicle is there a sticker, a light, an indication that our Base model front wheel drive, is (AWD). After my husband said "NO, just turn around and leave", and I came home; husband came out to the car and noticed that the guy who popped my hood, didn't shut and latch it properly, it was halfway open and could have opened up on W-99 as I drove home. Well,guess what. I waited one day, and took my car to my dealership. When I told them I only had 100 for my service, I got 10 dollars off. So, imagine how happy I was that we left your establishment. I took my car here to get a fuel filter installed (approx early December 2010), because I literally spent about an hour messing with it and couldn't install it myself. lol. So I stop in, surprised to see like 2 or 3 females working and only like 2 males. EVERYONE I heard appeared very knowledgeable with what they were doing and the woman who I was working with was certainly no exception. Very intelligent and excellent customer service! They even had cookies and coffee sitting out! I believe they installed it for 35$ (I supplied part), which was far cheaper than several other places I contacted. Stopped in here for a full service oil change and was very happy as usual. I have been dropping in here with the Larry mobile for a few years now and have never been disappointed. It was busy and there was a line when I pulled in and was told about an hour or more before they got to me, no big deal. I sat and watched as the guys worked on multiple cars until they got to my baby. I was informed about every detail and what was recommended to be serviced by mileage and a break down of price and time if I chose any to be done. In my book that's a good thing to know. I passed and was not pressured into anything extra. I know that they are very good about informing me about what ever they find even if it's not in the scope of their service. They have saved me many times by showing me what ever they find that's a potential problem. I fully trust this Grease Monkey's. The only thing I would ever say negative about this place is that it's a bit dirty, but it's a automotive place so don't expect a spotless waiting room. Been getting my oil changed here for years...Nadia is awesome and from the very first time I trusted her and the crew. They actually check all the fluids and give you a report saying what they did and also a list of recommended services. Sometimes they say you are okay for now but this needs to get done in the near future. NEVER had issues with upselling. The employees are clean and the waiting room has TV, newspapers, soda, coffee, tea and sometimes cookies. I moved to Marysville 8 years ago but still on occasion get down there and have my car serviced. I drove a BMW for a long time and when there was something they could not repair or servicer, Nadia would recommend where to go, what to buy and how to do it myself. Miss living close! The Smokey Point GM is full of idiots and they do not service cars the way GM recommends. I need more Nadia! read more

What a great experience! My husband called on MLK day to find out if they were open (they serviced my car once six months ago). They were open, they asked for our name and which car we were bringing in. When I got there the friendly employee was at my car door, squeegee in hand, to welcome me and took the car into the shop. I was offered coffee, cookies and a great selection of magazines. Twenty-five minutes later my car had new oil, a new air filter, was washed AND vacuumed and the friendly employee held the door open for me as she handed me my keys. Long missive - The ASM called me a liar & informed me I needed my hearing checked when I told him I was quoted a price on the phone (73.99) because I was wrong and he remembered that call. I also remember the call (I made notes at home) & I specifically asked for synthetic oil change cost for my car. He asked me what time I called & I asked him if he remembered the call then what else did I ask about? He couldn't answer....I proceeded to remind him and tell him what time I called. He started yelling & pointing his finger at me and told me I needed my eyeballs checked because I was also told the complete price of 79.99 on arrival. But I WAS NOT TOLD this NOR that there would also be an extra charge for over 5 qts of oil, or the additional charge for the special filter!!! He stepped out into the shop & asked the other guys if they had answered the phone and immediately walked back in, continued to berate me & say "see, they didn't say anything either". I had a coupon and although he honored it, while griping the whole time, I still walked out paying $97 and got in a few choice words myself....which wasn't good on my part. Now when I spoke to the manager on the phone, she was apologetic, but she would never let me finish speaking, kept interrupting me and then misheard me and started yelling at me. Well, when you don't listen...you can't hear correctly. After reading some of the reviews, I'm afraid my original plug may have been changed or who knows, but I will be keeping an eye on it. I've been using Grease Monkey for years, almost always the mill creek location which I have always loved, but as I was shopping in Lynwood I figured I'd try the Lynwood location. As I pulled up a man in the bay looked me dead in the eyes, shook his head, and then didn't do anything to acknowledge me. I waited with a smile and after getting mean mugged by the attendant for a while I decided I was uncomfortable and decided to leave. A woman chased up to my car as I was pulling away and asked me if I wanted an oil change, I let her know kindly what happened and she said "okay" and walked away annoyed. I decided I'd rather drive 20 minutes to the Mill Creek Grease Monkey than feel like a burden and be made to feel uncomfortable. On my drive I gave the Lynwood location a call with the intention of just giving feedback and to let them know how that could come across to others and the manager said the attendants actions didn't have to do with me and dismissed me altogether making me feel like it was my fault I took his actions that way. I will tell you right now it was extremely clear he did not want to work on my car, there was no willingness to apologize, and the attendant let me know I was not welcome. I feel bad giving a bad review, I never feel the need to and truly don't want to hurt a business, but I want to save people the uncomfortable and disrespectful experience I had. Went to get my oil changed in my company vehicle. We have 12 vehicles in our fleet and most of us use this location because they give us a discount. Today they told me it was AT LEAST an hour and a half wait. They had only 4 cars to service, and two were already in the middle of being taken care of. I used to work for an oil/lube service center, and there is no way 4 vehicles should take that long. At most, it should take 15 minutes each for basic oil change, but with 2 service bays, even if vehicles are getting several additional things taken care of, it shouldn't take an hour and a half. People these days are lazy. They don't train these kids how to multitask, they have no work ethic. I could see the little punk at the check in kiosk shaking his head while looking at me as I pulled up. Either thinking I was a fool to try and patronize their business or because he just doesn't want to have to do the job he's being paid to do. This location used to have great service and it has gone to hell in the last couple years. We'll be taking our vehicles somewhere else. read more

Been coming here since about 1994ish ?? I have always been treated well and my cars and trucks seem to be happy also. They are good at letting me know, and showing me when other fluids like power steering and axle gear oil etc. need to be changed. It's easy to forget that an oil change is not just an engine oil change, but other systems on board too. I don't buy and sell vehicles often so I have them long term. I'm not saying anything bad about the way they treat their customers, they are really friendly and courteous. However I am giving them a 1 star review to how sloppy their work is. I have been taking my truck and my car to them for a while, no problems. I had to have some work (somewhere else) on my truck and was shown where the sloppy pouring is getting some of the rubber fittings soaked and I know that it will cause issues soon. Not only that, the wrong tool is being used on the oil pan nut and that it's being stripped. What the heck people really? I trusted you. I hope people understand that no matter how friendly people are and how fast they are to get you out quickly you pay the price. I am really mad that this happened. I really hate to check to see what my car looks like...... I hope people see this review and really think of consequences of going to this place to have a simple oil change. Had a coupon for this fairly new store so I decided to swing by and get an oil change, I also decided to test them for honesty I had just replaced my air filter and serpentine belt so I know they were in excellent shape. I do know my transmission fluid needs to be replaced very badly and plan on doing that next week. After getting a good tip on where to grab a great burger while I waited behind a small group of people I came back to pick up my car. They read off a list of what they did to my car and what may needed to be done. They told me my air filter and my belt were fine but my transmission fluid was terrible and needed to be replaced. They passed the "honesty" test with flying colors. I will be back to visit this store again because they didn't try to nickle and dime me on stuff I didn't need. An oil change place but so much more. First, this place must be a franchise with a manager-owner (Nadia?), because all of the employees work hard and are genuine when talking to you, no slick talk or smarminess. Second, while it's clear that they are trying to upsell services such as changing air filters and such, they aren't pushy and NEVER TRICKY. Third, they are very nice about taking time to answer your ?s and even do work for free. They have installed a skid plate underneath my car for free, and also spent a good amount of time (20 minutes or so) trying to help me diagnose a persistent minor engine problem (I had to pay a "real" garage $60 to take a look; no diagnosis). This is my new go to oil change place. First of all they were really friendly and professional. They asked me what oil change I wanted instead of making me feel like shit for not getting the high mileage full synthetic angel dust unicorn horn engine force field change for $2,000. Also, they had cookies. My favorite part though was the honesty. There was an older man who had pulled up right behind me wanting a full oil change & automatic transmission service. After about a minute on their computer they realized this man had just been in and got all that stuff done already 2 months prior and came into the waiting room and, get this.... I am currently sitting waiting for a conventional oil change. The manager is shouting at an employee while the employee shouts back yelling profanities. I currently know she threatened to fire him if he was late and is now making him sign a document she wrote up forfeiting his job if he shows late again. This is SO UNPROFESSIONAL. I will not be coming here again. I feel very uncomfortable sitting in the waiting room while they yell at each other right outside the door.
