If I could give them a minus 10 stars, I would! Went there for years. Always thought highly of their work. Assured me they always check & top off all fluids - trans, transfer case and differentials. Apparently they lied. Transmission - a $7800 6 speed truck transmission - froze up on the freeway. The repair shop said there was less than a quart of gear oil in it when they drained it! So no, they do NOTHING other than change the engine oil and filter. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!! AND I WILL TELL EVERYONE I CAN THAT THEY ARE LIARS THAT COST ME $7800! That's been the standard for over 100 years - change the oil & filter, check the fluids!!!! read more

The service here is out of this world! I had a gift certificate from them and they are made of paper see. Well it was in my wallet that went through the wash so it was toast. They were so understanding and gave me a hand written gift certificate so that I could still use it even though it was all ripped up. I went to Smily's for the first time today. I was very impressed with their service, expertise, and price! I have a new-to-me 2007 Ford F-150 that I wanted them to check all the fluids as well as provide an oil change. I had seen some seepage under the engine where the oil pan is (but it doesn't drip on our driveway). I asked them to check it out, and they invited me to go into the pit with Smiley to show him the area I was concerned about. I;ve never been in "a pit" before. Smiley let me know that everything I was seeing was typical for this age of a truck, and all looked good to him. I was very glad to hear that! They checked all my fluids and all looked good. You can't go wrong with supporting local. I read some prior reviews and they definitely concerned me but I also know things happen and you should always try things out for yourself. My husband has been taking his car here for the past few oil changes and has had nothing but great services. As for me, this is my first. I'm normally bougie AF and only go to the dealership I bought my Tahoe from but have been feeling like I'd like to be more than a number. When an oil change almost turns into several thousand dollars in repairs -- Very very disappointed... I've been going here for years and have had nothing but good experiences every time. This time, however, I almost lost my car. Oil change mid-February. Fast forward to March 7. Check engine oil pressure sensor goes off while on the highway. I pull over to find a trail of oil out from behind my car and an oil slick developing from underneath it. I immediately turned off my car (Thank god I grew up in a shop full of a constant barrage of vehicles going in and out) and found out later I was damn lucky I did when I did. Either I was given a defective part, or someone did a completely lousy job of installing the filter. That purple marked piece in the photos I posted, is not supposed to be sticking out there. And that's where the oil was leaking. And leaking fast because by the time I pulled over and turned my car off, I had less than 1 quart of oil left in my engine. Had I waited any longer I'd be left with a seized engine. Who knows if this will cause problems with a little mileage but for now, after having done my own work on it, it's running. To be honest, I hate to have to put Smiley's on blast like this because they have been great for the many years I've had them doing our oil changes. BUT, all it takes is one lousy tech, one defective part, one problem and suddenly an oil change turns into several thousand dollars in repairs. read more

EDIT: took my car in to the mechanic today to check if my oil leaks and its been confirmed i have NO oil leak they just DID NOT fill up my oil all the way. TERRIBLE SERVICE STAY AWAY FROM THERE!! I have been going to there for the last 3 years and few days ago I went in for a oil change. Today I smelled something burning bad so I checked my oil there was BARELY ANY oil in there!!!! I don't have any oil leakage in my parking spot so I don't know if they ripped me off or didn't fill it up. So I have to go and buy some oil and fill it up. Customer service always sucked it didn't really bother me but paying $50 and for them not to do their job really pisses me off. Oil change at other places would fill up your windshield washer fluid and vacuum the inside but nope not at smileys. VERY DISAPPOINTED! We have taken all of our vehicles there for 18 years and last month they over filled the transmission fluid in one of our trucks. This has resulted in erratic shifting and we can not drive it safely and can cause permanent damage to the transmission. When we called Smiley's Pro-Lube they said they do not stand behind any over filling fluids, they said it wasn't over filled when it left Smiley's. We don't do any sort of this type of service at home so there isn't any way it wasn't over filled by anyone but the techs at Smiley's. Isn't this why we have the service done by a "professional?" We will be going to a different lube place from now on and they should be taking the "Pro" out of their name. A business should always stand by their work. I wouldn't even 1 star but had to to get posted. read more

All they do is change the oil and filter - that's it. When I asked them to check or do something more than that, push back and excuses why it's too difficult. The final issue for me was finding that after I asked them to fill the windshield washer fluid, they put straight water in. Where I work just down the street from Smiley's, and their price was half of what I've paid for in the past (I drive and SUV), it was a no brainer. Props to everyone there. My oil was changed in under 15 minutes and my carpets cleaned. It was great, too, to find out that Smiley used to play for my favorite NFL team, the Patriots. Hello, you don't know me but I went to school with Tony Creswell. The reason I'm messaging you is because I just hope you can pass along a little message to Smiley. I grew up in Maltby and I work at a very famous restaurant in Maltby. I pulled into his oil change BUSINESS this morning because I REALLY needed an oil change, imagine that, which I've done about 4 times before because I heard they're the best. It has always been fine, even if it was over a hundred bucks, who cares when you need it you need it. This morning 8/28/17. Anyway, I pulled in and the heavy set fellow pointed at the chain blocking the "oil pit" so I rolled down my window and asked him what he was trying to say.? I heard from down in the "oil pit, "we don't do Mini's (Cooper). I said in a nice voice "sure you do I've been here a few times." The guy in the "oil pit" said "not anymore, they're a pain in the ass". so I said "good to know". laughing and drove out. I was totally flabbergasted at that response! I mean what would you have said at that kind of "service" from such a reputable establishment? Like I said in the beginning I work at a very famous restaurant in Maltby for over 27 years and if I EVER talked to a customer in that fashion we wouldn't be who we are nor would we be that famous. My point is, is there are a lot of ways to respond to a "pain in the ass" customer and if they think they don't need my Mini's business that's fine, but I'll be dammed if I ever take ANY vehicle there again and I'm going to make it my mission to tell EVERYONE I know this story. I think you get a good oil change. The young lady is nice, but the price she gives is wrong. She looked at my Toyota 4Runner and told me that a basic oil change was under $70. I said ok. The final bill was $99. She said, oh, there's an extra charge for oil and a filter. What? Just give me the price up front and I'll decide, please. read more
