Here is my story with M&N: I live in California and bought a classic car from Alaska that the previous owner transported to Everett last year. Before shipping it back to CA, I thought it would be good to get the major mechanical issues taken care of. However, my classic car is a rare 41 year old Lincoln Continental Mark VII Gianni Versace designer edition that is equipped with an even more rare BMW sourced turbo-diesel engine, so finding a suitable shop that could do it was no easy task. Fortunately, my searching lead me to M&N, an outstanding women owned and run business in Everett. Michelle was who I first spoke to and she was an absolute pleasure to work. They have a great electronic system that clearly details all the issues with the cars, with detailed price breakdowns, mechanic notes and photos, making it a breeze to understand what is needed and accept or decline each suggested repair. Sadly, Michelle had to resign because of personal family issues, then, Sarah took over, again providing excellent service and keeping me up to date via text and calls. Sarah continued the excellent service, providing regular updates on my car with it's very difficult to find parts. Robb was the mechanic that worked on my car and like Sarah and Michelle, he also provided excellent service, and got my car road worthy again. If you need service on your classic or newer vehicle, look no further than M&N. I serve on the Board of Directors for the official Lincoln and Continental Owners Club and am very experienced with mechanic shops, having been a classic car enthusiast and collector for most of my life. When I went to pick up the truck because it took so long they gave me an estimate of $800 to fix the windshield wipers motor and linkage. To fix the motor they estimated 500 plus and that was after they took off the $186 they charge me to diagnose the issue. I took it in to get the windshield wipers fixed. When I went to pick it up they charged me $186 to diagnose not only the windshield wiper issue but they chose on their own to also check my brakes and something else. I did not give them permission or request to have them do this. I would not have objected to maybe $100 even though my friend diagnosed it was the windshield wiper motor simply by turning on the ignition and he heard no clicking or something like that which meant there was no power going to the box. They said they checked the wiring and the fuse even taking that into consideration I don't see where it would cost $186 for that amount of time. My main complaint is they went beyond what I asked them to do they did not quote how much it would cost to diagnose this and I've heard this from other people that they go in to have something done and they charge for diagnosing things that weren't asked for. So basically I would just warn people if you're going to take your car or truck in you should ask them what it would cost to diagnose it. In addition I had had my brakes just fixed the month before so there was no reason to diagnose it. It cost me $800 to have my brakes done they quoted me 1800. This was just for the rear brakes.

My good friend lives in Marysville Washington with a first-year collectible, low mileage Mazda Miata convertible. Her collectible only needed a simple easily accessible parts replacement. The dealer's price quote was ridiculous. Partly because of Boeing and local race tracks up and down Highway 99 there are plenty of specialty repair shops that are super high tech. We were happy to drive 100 miles for a respectful quality shop. We radiated out from Marysville using consumer recommendations and yelp. I wrote or spoke with over 11 independent specialty shops. Unbelievable because nobody wants to do this simple profitable repair. Everybody have been quite polite and one shop suggested Easy Fix. A specialty repair shop owner actually recommended a competitor! Saturday hours! Unusually polite and clean! Low prices! Half of what a dealership wanted to charge! Masen greeted Christine with her Mazda as soon as we arrived. He spoke in easy to understand terms about what was done and what was needed in a most caring fashion. There were so many adjustments and repairs for so many cars and trucks that are actually simple and less expensive to do than a factory authorized dealer. Mason & Breonna (sorry if I misspelled that) were incredibly kind, trustworthy, and easy to get along with. They replaced my AC compressor and recharged my AC, which thankfully fixed my AC before these hot months coming up. I would absolutely recommend people to go here. The fuel issue was high pressure line. $1000 later the fluid issue became worse. After hearing what they did I replaced the master brake cylinder. Not more issue also checked to brake pads. Last February (early 2025) I…read morehad several routine maintenance odds and ends performed and they seemed to do ok (albeit not exactly what I asked for) except on the serpentine belt replacement. Initially, they didn't even replace it even though I was charged for it. Didn't notice till I got home and checked under the hood and realized it still had old serpentine belt with cracked ribs. I brought it in the next business day, and they said new belt was on the part shelf, but they had missed it in the rush to get done before closing. The service manager told me that he would replace it himself to get me on my way quickly, which seemed great at the time. Come to find ~14 months later that it clearly had been routed wrong (one of the smooth idler pulleys had been grooved by belt ribs running across it, and the tensioner had been maxed out to make up the difference. I can't even believe it worked so long the way was (the flat side of belt had a large groove, worn down to the reinforcing threads, where it had been rubbing on part of the engine block), but in the end it cost me ~$1600.00 to have grooved idler pulley, maxed out tensioner pulley (that was stuck), and belt replaced by a shop that knew what they were doing. -2006 Toyota Tacoma SR5 4.0L

It took only about 1.5 hours and I was able to work from their lobby while waiting. They had fast WiFi and a pullout/rolling desk which made my work comfortable and the time flew by. However, when he called and told me all the things wrong with my car besides my a/c and then told me it was 176.00 for the estimate, I was a little put out. I picked up my car and paid the fee. I then made an appointment with another automotive shop for another estimate. I was not charged for the estimate. I have never been charged for an estimate. Needless to say, I had my car repaired at the second shop that did not charge me for an estimate. BTW, they had my car for over an hour too.
