Prompt customer service and a cute, chill atmosphere. I used Too Good To Go and received a bento box with teriyaki chicken. The flavor was good, but there was a bone in the chicken and a lot of skin, which made it a bit gummy. The food overall was just okay... it wasn't bad, but not amazing. The brown sugar tea was also mid, but the wintermelon drink was actually really good. They do take a while to prepare the order, so keep that in mind. read more

I stumbled upon this boba shop after shopping and walking around in Old Town Pasadena. My friend and I were so hungry so we decided to eat early dinner and grabbed something refreshing to drink. Got in around 1pm for late lunch. The empty tables are all dirty with yellow stains. I wanted Taiwan noodle soup with Nabeyaki egg noodles but that noodle is out, so I got Korean style noodles. Hainan chicken rice was not authentic, the rice was not even cooked with flavored chicken broth. It was just plain white rice and chicken was ok and nothing special. It didn't even come with black soy sauce and scallion ginger oil. One star for the drink and two stars for the staff. read more

You guys, I have another amazing deal for you. LT9 in Old Town Pasadena has 2 huge pieces of Hainan chicken over rice for just $9.99 for lunch on the weekdays. But if you're feeling soupy, the pickled pork noodle soup is such a classic Taiwanese hit of nostalgia. But their claim to fame has to be their teas they import specially from Taiwan and don't use any artificial flavors or sweeteners. The staff told me they only make 20 serves of their tiramisu every day, and, oh my gosh, I wish you guys could smell when they started making the egg cakes fresh to order. I placed my order for their lunch special Hainan chicken and came to pick up less than 20 minutes later. My order was ready by the counter and I had no trouble flagging down an employee. The space was mostly empty and there's lots of outlets for work. Not sure what the wifi situation is. Surprisingly this came with two dark meat thighs and a choice of soup or tea. Ordered through Too Good to Go. We got 3 drinks for $6.99- such a steal! We came early than our pickup time so we had to wait. Staff was okay. Lots of seating inside with tables so you can work. Pretty chill place in old town with lots of options for drinks. They even have mochi? Really want to try it sometime. They have a ton of jellies too like grass, almond, and coffee. Everyone working is super nice and pretty helpful. They have food too which I need to try sometime. Hainan chicken rice and some Taiwanese dishes like sesame oil chicken noodle soup which is kinda hard to find in the area. I got the winter melon last time which is always good. My friend got the oolong year which was very nice and smokey. Everything was not too sweet which is good. Will definitely be back. I came across this place from an IG post and they made me really crave their Hainan chicken. Honestly, their Hainan chicken was okay. I do think it was too hyped up, but it wasn't bad. Because everyone made it seem like it was the best, which made me have high expectations. They have really great lunch specials and combos! Their teas look delicious and well crafted. Service by far was the best. The gentleman (who I think may be the chef / owner) was very hospitable and kind. Asked if everything was good and if I needed anything. One of the most affordable meals in the area especially when you get the weekday lunch specials. We came in on a Sunday and got the Hainan chicken meal upgrade (with soup, salad, and a drink). The portion size was pretty good, the chicken was a little dry but had good flavor. The soup was about to balance out the slight dryness of the chicken. The cucumber salad was a good palate cleanser. I ordered through the Too Good to Go app, so my experience may differ slightly from the normal in store order. Upon arriving, I informed the staff member I was there for pick up, and he started preparing my order on the spot (took around 5 minutes). Since it was a surprise bag, we ended up getting a ruby oolong tea with boba, a milk tea with qq noodles, and a wintermelon milk with milk pudding to try. After a round of taste testing, my group enjoyed the wintermelon milk with milk pudding the most. The tea was good, but unfortunately, the boba and qq noodles were soggy and not qq. The food is a mix of Cantonese Hong Kong Cafe style and Hainan. It came out quickly but was very disappointing. The Hainan chicken was tasty but mostly bone, barely any meat. The rice was ok. The french style filet mignon was good but the rice was literally ketchup rice with a little egg, pretty flavorless. And the meat was ok but way to much onion. The coconut "cake" was basic coconut jelly inside a hollowed coconut. Overall this was an extremely overpriced and disappointing meal. Would not return.

Chicken was average. The whole order did not satisfy. We also got an Amazing Lemonade and Thai iced tea. The lemonade was a very refreshing drink, and the Thai tea is just like all other places.
