We just had the most horrible experience with this company and the technician. Our kitchen faucet is leaking; this guy shows up, turns the faucet on, goes outside and then comes back in to tell us that our water pressure is high and they cannot fix the sink. He did not even explain the regulations of water pressure, the normal of water pressure (except to say the normal is 65 and ours is higher) or tell us how he even checked our water pressure. He said this is a new thing that his company is enforcing more strictly and that they are not completing work when they deem pressure is too high. When we started to ask questions he verbalized that the city is the one who is responsible for regulating pressure. So we can't get our sink fixed because the city isn't doing what they are supposed to do????? Well this is the first time we have ever heard of this even through a significant amount of remodeling with bathrooms etc. dealing with water pressure. Also, not to mention that the specific faucet we are referring to is a 10 year old faucet that has never been worked on or replaced. So being this is the first time this faucet has ever leaked on us, is it possible that this is plainly wear and tear and an old faucet?? He called the home warranty, American Home Shield, and came back to say they won't cover it; no further explanation or recommendation of what to do from here. The home warranty called us to say that he basically said our sink is leaking because of pressure and that they cannot fix it. The agent at AHS that I spoke to verbalized that the technician would not answer any of her questions either, refused to give an estimation of the repair costs and told them that his company would not be able to fix it and someone else would need to be called. WHAT!!!!! So, you work at a plumbing company that cannot fix my plumbing issue.....HMMMMMM. Before he left we had to specifically say that we wanted to see how he checked our pressure and see the reading for ourselves; he did show us that. This guy was at our house for approx. 10min (2 to evaluate the situation, 6 to be on hold with AHS, and 2 to answer questions from us). Following up on this whole scenario, we called our city water services who stated that for our area and our zip code our regular water pressure range is 75-80. Well after we asked to see the pressure for ourselves and he showed us, our water pressure reads 78 on their water meter. We also spoke to the meter department at water services for our city who stated that for older houses, which is ours, there is no water regulation enforcement; he said that is more so for newer houses. He also said that this is something that has been coming up more recently in regards to plumbing issues and home warranties. So tell me again why my sink cannot be fixed???
UPDATE: So we actually had the city come out to test our water pressure that same day and they stated that our pressure is within normal range for our area and gave us paperwork to indicate so. Also the next day, approximately 24 hours (give or take), another company came out for a second opinion from the home warranty. This company was confused and wanted to know why the other company(Loyalty Home Services) couldn't fix it; we just said to ask the home warranty. The 2nd company even verbalized to the home warranty when they called it in that they are not sure why the 1st company couldn't fix it. So.......within roughly 24 hours, we had our water pressure tested and verified that it is normal and another company come out to complete our repair with no issues at all (there was never one mention about water pressure either). So basically there were no issues other than Loyalty Home Services did not seem to want to do the work. Worse experience ever! read more
