I should have considered all the negative reviews for Epic Plumbing because they are accurate. Our second and third experience with this company was awful. After our first experience, Epic never sent me a receipt. Six months later we finally received a receipt which had "not responsible for work" on it. The next two visits from Epic left our sink leaking water on my floor. We had to turn the water source off and now have an unusable sink. Lesson learned and money wasted. read more

I almost forgot to include pictures of my vehicle. and the damage that was caused in the accident when they rammed into the back of my vehicle. They are fighting the attorneys trying to claim that my fiancé is still at fault. I'm sure you can see from the damage yourself, that this was clearly their fault, not my fiancé's. This is my vehicle by the way, and I am dying from a disease that is not properly recognized by the CDC, so I am struggling to keep my head above water. Apparently they installed our water heater improperly so I've never been able to flush it but now they're saying because it's out of warranty they can't fix it for me. This is totally my bad because as a homeowner I should have noticed this before now. But still I'm just letting them know that they installed it improperly but they just tried to blame other people saying that anybody could have done something to it since they installed it even though I assure them that nobody else has touched it since them. I wasn't trying to Initially blame them. I just wanted to know how I can flush it with it installed like this. But them blaming other people just put a bad taste in my mouth. Homeowners beware. We moved into a new home in September, '21. It came with a Bradford/White Model RE250T6 Water Heater. The upper Thermostat failed at appx 15 months and I called the Epic, the original installer, for repair. This was done under the 2 year Warranty for parts & labor which was fine. This past weekend, the unit failed again and I called Epic to schedule repair. I was told that the parts were still under Warranty, but the labor was not. I agreed and the technician was scheduled for the following Monday. The technician arrived and, after inspecting the unit, advised it needed a new upper Thermostat and Element. When I asked the price for the labor, the technician said he would have to "check with the office". He went outside the garage to make the call out of earshot and returned to tell me the labor cost would be $348! I said this was an outrageous charge for what I imagined would be a maximum of 30 minutes work. He said "I don't set the charges..this is what we're told by the office to charge." Then he said an option would be to replace the entire Water Heater for a charge of $500. I declined both options and he said I'd have to pay for the Service Call @ $165. He did offer a 10% discount to $148 which I paid. After considering this situation, I've concluded that his "office call" resulting in the $348 charge included $148 for Service Call and $100 each ($200) for the Thermostat & Element getting the price within $150 for a complete replacement. Although I could easily afford the $348 or $500, I do not like being "ripped off" by unscrupulous vendors. So, I will not be doing business with Epic in the future. A local plumber has agreed to replace both the upper and lower Thermostats and Elements for $85. I'll have to pay for the parts, but this will be my "go to" solution for all future plumbing needs. My advice, if Epic was your original installer, once your original Parts & Labor Warranty expires, find another plumber and part company with Epic! read more

For the love of god do not do business with this company. They over charge on everything as you can see for the other reviews. The charged $212 for 15 minutes of work to change out a thermometer on my water heater than told me it was for the good of the customer. It was emergency and I needed hot water or would have been able to tell them no. Run from this place as fast as you can. read more

Either way, the sticker shock was enough to turn me off. I wouldn't tell a customer one price and then try to charge them another if I were an honest business. Maybe steer clear. read more

Excellent customer service! Two days before Thanksgiving, in the afternoon, I found a slow drip from one of the fittings between the wall and the water softener. I called Epic and immediately felt their concern. Rather than have me wait over night for their plumber, they sent the on call plumber. He had to drive clear across the valley, a 2+ hour drive. The plumber was professional and quick, fixed the problem in a matter of minutes. Wait, the great service does not stop! Epic called me early the next morning to make sure I was satisfied and asked if they could send someone by later in the day to make sure everything was done correctly. The second plumber was also professional and quick. And then I got another call to ensure all was good. Holy cow! The service was outstanding all the way around. read more

This outfit did the original plumbing in our new construction, so, we used them for warranty work and, two fixes several months after the 1yr warranty expired (Performed free of charge; They replaced rubber rings on the same toilet. We, of course, were glad the work wasn't charged, but remain dismayed at the cheap quality of today's toilets and kitchen sink fixtures.) Anyway, so we later called Epic to replace a leaking kitchen fixture. They charged several hundred bucks for 15 minutes work. I inquired why they didn't charge by the hour and was told because employees previously took advantage by padding the bill. BEWARE!!! This company practices terrible money rip off policies! I recently needed a plumber to repair a leak that was causing problems. When arriving the plumber that was sent, told me that there would be a minimum charge of $275.00 to find the leak, but that the charge could be applied to any work that needed to be done. I thought that was a bit high, but since I needed the repair done, I agreed. I also thought they must use this practice to ensure that they didn't spend alot of time in discovering a leak only to be told that a customer didn't want the repair done. After 10 minutes, he discovered the leak was coming from a faucet in the master bathroom sink. However, the faucet was located inside a wall that was covered by a mirror mounted to the wall from the countertop to the ceiling. He told me that I'd have to get someone in to remove the mirror. I understood and agreed. At that point he gave me an invoice for the $275.00 he quoted. I asked if this payment would apply to the repair that needed to be done after the mirror was removed and he told me no! That would only apply to work done the same day. I was furious! $275.00 for a total of 30 minutes spent in my home and no work completed. I had the mirror removed, and had them back to do the repair, only to have them come a second time and now inform me that the faucet component that was inside the wall should be replaced. So he left and told me that he would include the bill for that day when he came back to replace the faucet after I went to a supply house and found the part needed. After finding the necessary part, I considered using a different company, but I figured that I was in this far with Epic, I may as well let them finish. The same plumber came back and replaced the faucet body. The work took about 45 minutes. He then presented a bill for $500.00!!! He told me that the exorbitant charge was what they normally get just for the faucet replacement, but he actually discounted that to $350.00 and then $150.00 for the prior days to tell me to get a new faucet. I hate to be taken advantage of in situations like this but I paid him the $500.00. Afterwards I kicked myself for the next few days. I will NEVER use this company again, and suggest you don't either. read more

Obviously that is for emergencies; still, in such a large metro area I thought they would be available for routine maintenance calls--at least for a half day--on Saturdays. I was wrong. Today, I was told "Our techs don't work on Saturdays" and since I was also told they can't guarantee an arrival time during the week, I advised the "customer service" woman that despite having done business with them for many years, I would now have to go elsewhere due to work schedule changes. I doubt she'll lose any sleep over it. I can rest easy as well, since I've already found another company--reasonably priced and with a good track record--whose techs are available on Saturdays for routine R/O servicing. This morning, I was told by my landscape contractor that the main water line from the meter had sprung a leak. I called Epic Plumbing and they were able to schedule Josh to come by in the afternoon to check it out. He called me late afternoon to say that the problem wasn't too bad and that he was able to fix it within a few minutes...free of charge. This was on a Friday afternoon, I happened to be out of town and desperate for a solution at whatever the cost! Talk about integrity and willingness to take care of the customer. I was dumbfounded and very appreciative. Thank you Josh and Epic Plumbing. I have used them several times in the past for a water filtration system and setting up a shut off valve on the house. We purchased a brand new home in October 2015. Over the course of the first year we documented several issues to address with our builder at the one-year anniversary. In November 2016 we submitted a warranty request via the home builder website that included a toilet leak in the master bathroom. At that time a plumber was sent out by the builder to assess the issue. He never removed the toilet to look at the root cause. He moved the toilet back and forth/side to side, and noticed the bolts were loose. He tightened the bolts securing the toilet and told us the leak should stop. He was in and out of the house in 10 minutes time but we trusted the "expert" and didn't think twice. Fast forward to June 2020 and we discovered a leak from the master bathroom down to our kitchen ceiling. We consulted a plumber who removed the toilet to find the wax ring was ruined and the flange rusted. The plumber discovered that the flange was not on top of the finished floor tile and no flange extender was used. This caused undo stress on the wax ring causing it to fail and grey water to seep into the floor and ceiling of our home. This situation became even more concerning given a wax ring should last the life of the toilet (20-30 years). In addition, as a sick twist of fate, the toilet in our other upstairs bathroom started to leak out water after it is flushed within days of the master toilet leak. We had the plumber come back out to our home and he removed the toilet to find 2 wax rings under the toilet. The plumber explained this is a way that plumbers cut corners as there is too much room between the flange and the toilet. The plumber also explained that a wax ring should adhere to the toilet even when the toilet is removed. Both the master and secondary toilet wax rings fell off when the plumber removed the toilets, indicating the wax ring/toilet was not installed correctly. I called the home builder who stated I was outside of my home warranty and my best course of action would be to call Epic Plumbing. Initially I spoke to Gary at Epic Plumbing. Gary is the Customer Service Manager and unfortunately did not live up to his title. After explaining the situation and stating I had a plumber come to our home to remove the toilet to assess the issue and damage Gary replied condescendingly, "oh, I bet your plumber had great things to say about me", at which point I questioned his professionalism. I requested Epic send someone out to assess the damage. Hours later a technician arrived at the home and took multiple pictures. At that time and even though we asked repeatedly, the technician did not provide us the assessment of his findings. The restoration company that was helping to clear the grey water in the home also reached out to the technician; however, his only response was, "I was only sent to take pictures, I do not make the decisions." He did share that he would be speaking with his boss and we should hear something the next day, but no response. I called two business days later and spoke to the front office. Rene in the front office is amazing and exudes the highest amount of customer service of any one at Epic! Rene stated she was aware of my situation and would have someone call me right back. Two days later and no phone call, I reached out to Epic again. Rene answered the phone and quickly transferred me to Gary. In all Gary glory, he lived up again to his title. He stated he reviewed the photos and saw nothing wrong. When I asked if it is normal practice to install a flange at sub-floor level and not the finished level, he stated, "that's how the do it" and that "wax rings give" throughout their use. I know this is not the case as I have consulted 3 other plumbers who have looked at the work and identified the root cause being that the flange was installed too low and an extender should have been used. When I again asked if that is normal wear for a toilet and wax ring just over 4 years old he stated again that he reviewed the photos and did not see anything wrong. All from a man who didn't even come to my home to look at the shoddy work himself. At that point he stated he would not help us resolve any issues. He was rude and the worst "customer service manager" I have ever encountered. I would typically not bash a company or even lodge a formal compliant, but the workmanship was subpar and as a result I am out thousands of dollars. In addition, Epic's response (or lack there of) is extremely unprofessional and I am concerned that they continue to use poor judgement and cut corners with no regard of the consequences. This company is a huge scam and used by builders because they come in cheap, simply because they only do half the job. Avoid this company at all costs, even if they save you a few dollars at the beginning, you'll pay for it in the end. read more

I have used Epic for probably 8 years or so. I first ran into them while a single dad and just didn't have time to do everything on my own. They came out and took care of the issues I had at the time and charged a fair price for the work. After I was no longer a single dad, I found that the time I saved by calling Epic versus trying to do plumbing repairs on my own, was more than worth the cost. Recently had them replace an RO faucet, change the RO filters, and rebuild the main water line into the house that was slowly breaking loose. Joe did a quick and efficient job of all three tasks. I would, and do, recommend Epic Plumbing to family and friends with no hesitation. read more

Epic has become one of the companies I depend on to keep my business running smoothly. I've been using Epic for about 2 years, after they were referred to me by the AC company I've used for 15 years. Epic has never disappointed me. They handle repairs quickly, efficiently, and cost effectively. I just had them do a job repairing a leak in a cast iron kitchen drain line in an older home. They told me that they might need to jackhammer out some of the concrete floor to get to expose enough of the pipe to do the repair because the leak was right above the floor. They told me it would be $850, minimum. They called me the next day, with the job complete, and news that they had been able to make the repair without jackhammering, so the total cost was only going to be $600. Considering how hard working with cast iron can be, that's really reasonable. Epic plumbing does quality work, at reasonable prices. They are available 24hrs for emergency calls, but they don't do routine repairs outside of normal business hours, which is understandable. If you need them though, they will show up, and they'll do a good job for you. I can't recommend Epic highly enough. read more

Stay away. They are a complete ripoff. I had an ejector pump replaced by them. Yes, they quoted me a price of $4300 upfront to install the pump. I was naive to the cost of these pumps and was too busy with work to do some research on my own. Turns out you can get the very same model pump they installed, online for $1350 from a plumbing supply warehouse. So, basically I paid several thousand dollars for them to install the pump. Call me stupid for being taken, but this is outright robbery. The owner told me that they install these pumps in Scottsdale all the time and nobody ever complains and that's the price they charge. I guess everyone else in Scottsdale has money to burn. read more

Called them with a question about a drip in the heater - and was told, "I'll just someone to take a look" And then when he showed up took a quick look and said the "flex pipes need to be changed and it will cost you $289" Really?! The material cost would be no more than $25-30. So, he wanted $250+ for less than 15 minutes of labor?!!. When I declined to accept this quote, I was asked to pay $140 just for showing up. We have always had great service from Epic Plumbing. We have had them help us with our 3 rentals as well as our personal home. On one occasion, we had another company quote us $2,500 for pipe hydrojetting. I had a hard time swallowing that price, called Epic, and was quoted $900 for the same job. The dispatcher was exceptionally rude and sarcastic and then proceeded to give me an absurd quote for a project that might take 2 hours and is within 5 miles of their office.
