From the time I first contacted him he was very prompt with responding and setting up a time to come out in order to give me an estimate. He was very thorough and explained things to me multiple times as the plumbing world is very foreign to me. We had a fully backed up kitchen sink, and called another plumbing company first that we had used successfully for some routine maintenance jobs. That first company rootered it to no success and spent two hours trying to troubleshoot. They finally called it and said they had to come the next day with a scoping camera. After over an hour of scoping and other attempts, they said the underground pipe in the area of our fridge had some sort of blockage they couldn't see or get through, and the only way to get to it was to demo the floor and see what was going on underneath---to the tune of almost $6k. I scheduled the job, but decided to call Stephen and Ron for a second opinion just to be safe because they had rootered it successfully a few years back. Stephen rootered it again (with their larger hose) and it was cleared in *1 HOUR*. They saved us a several thousand dollar mistake and he was so pragmatic and humble. We love these guys. Only giving three stars because Ron and Steve installed a new water heater at my house a few months ago and did a good job. But I will not be using their services ever again. I wanted help with a leaky faucet handle and spout so I texted them right away because I had a new tenant moving in on the weekend. Steve came out the next day (Monday) and said that it probably just needed a new cartridge and that he could come back the next day to do it. Great. The next day, he didn't show at the scheduled time so I finally texted and he apologized and said he had a family emergency. Totally understandable. I get that. So he said he'd come out the next day. Come Wednesday, Steve came out, removed the shower handle and cartridge and needed to go get the part (which he said might be hard because it was old). After being gone for 5 hours I finally texted and asked what was going on. He couldn't find the part he needed, he couldn't put the old handle back on because it had broken when he took it off (not his fault it was super old), but told me the only solution would be to cut through my outside wall and do a whole new valve. He said he'd go online to see if he could find another solution but that if I did just want to replace the whole thing they'd be able to get it done in time for my renter to move in. So I said let's just do it. The next morning he texted me saying they actually "didn't want to tackle the faucet" and asked for whoever did the project, to keep the part he had tried so he could return it. So here I am on Thursday with no water and no solution and a renter moving in on Saturday. I had to scramble to find a new plumber who could come out on super short notice (luckily I found someone amazing who actually had a better solution than cutting through the outside of my house). Ron and Steve do good work and I appreciated that Steve tried to find a solution but I'm extremely disappointed that I wasted 4 days thinking they were going to help, for them to leave me in a bad situation and just go "sorry." I do understand not wanting to take on particular projects, but to tell me that they could do it and then back out the next day is very unprofessional. read more

On 09/16/2020, I found Steve from Yelp, and he actually picked up my phone at 8:57 pm at night even though his business hours is from 7am to 5:30pm, we talked about 45 minutes about an issue in my rental house in Surprise, he explained to me in detail what could cause the issue (well, my tenant says there is a sewer-like smell coming out from the dish washer area), and he said it is free diagnostics, and he will charge me if I hire him to repair the issue. I think Steve is cool, he asked me not to worry about this issue, and it is very common for him to fix this type of issue. I told him based on this phone conversation at 9pm at night, he already deserves a 5 in Yelp here. read more

Ron looked at the rusting pipes, gave a quick run down of what should be done and then explained that his work is primarily rooter and sewage line inspections and the work I was needing done would require a different type of service and therefore a different plumber. On the plus side, they came out the next day, as requested, called first, were right on time, and ultimately fixed the problem- a backed up kitchen sink. Plus the first, younger plumber who came was decent and friendly and professional. On the negative side, it was hard not to believe they were "up selling" and wanted me to buy into a lot of expensive work that just wasn't necessary to fix my sink. The first guy tried to clear my line without success and called a supervisor to bring an optical line to see the problem. Since I had had the problem before and was pretty sure it was a clog in the line, this disturbed me and caused me to read the Yelp customer comments more carefully. These did not put me at ease because there were many complaints about bad service, and unnecessary and expensive work. The supervisor suggested that they might have to go into a wall and replace a drain line for multiple thousands of dollars and, unless they did so, they couldn't even access the clogged line. At this point, I made it clear that I was only interested in fixing the kitchen sink, not attending to the plumbing in the remainder of the house which, to my best knowledge, was fine. I also stated that if it were to be a big job, I was going to refer it to another plumbing company I had used previously. This seems to me a reasonable reaction, and I was as polite as I could be. However, it was very clear that this made the supervisor unhappy. You know the phrase, "if looks could kill"? Well, I don't think his look was murderous, but it wasn't friendly. At this point, and to his credit, and probably not to the satisfaction of his boss, the younger plumber offered to try and snake my line one more time. I insisted that he do it inside at the sink as had been done many times in the past. He did and it cleared up! My problem was fixed. I ended up paying for the camera visual, which I did not see and I'm not sure was necessary or useful. Still, the cost wasn't outrageous and was in line with what I had paid another company before. The problem is that, had I listened to them, I am afraid they would have tried to persuade me that I required a lot of very expensive work. In light of my experience, I cannot recommend them. If you do deal with them, I would advise you exercise caution. On the other hand, they were prompt, fixed my problem and the younger plumber was friendly and ultimately competent. I cannot condemn them completely but I can't recommend them. read more

Today is the second time Ron has come out to fix some plumbing emergency or other. The first time, my disposal broke, backing up the kitchen sink and dishwasher. He came right out, replaced the old disposal and got everything up and running for an amazingly reasonable price. This morning I called him before 8, let's just say that no amount of power plunging was going to fix the situation in my toilet. He got that taken care of, and while he was here fixed the flushing mechanism in the other bathroom. Again, he came over immediately, and at an extremely reasonable price. When our kitchen sink decided to back up on us last week, J and I tried our "tried and true" Clog Buster. Take apart trap, etc, connect to hose, cross fingers, and turn on the water. Shut off water. A plumber with over fifty Yelp reviews and a four and a half star rating? Definitely sounds too good to be true. But it's not. Ron really is a quality guy. I called him late in the day. He handled the scheduling himself! He was booked for the rest of the day, but after confirming it wasn't an emergency, he squeezed in an appointment the next day between 11:00 and 1:00. Not too big of a window. I can live with that. He gave an estimate over the phone, suggesting he may not be able to handle this type of clog for the $59 special price. Rather, it could be as much as $120. Full disclosure. Nice! He called the next day in advance of arrival. Early! Arrived and rapidly addressed the clog and charged us - wait for it - $59. He could have easily charged me $120 and I would have been none the wiser. We recently had a horrible experience with George Brazil and their $99 clog special. They arrived and gave us an estimate of nearly $400 for a clog more routine than this one. Ron is no George Brazil. Thank goodness! Ron specializes mainly in clogs, but he is will to do a few other things like installing faucets. On this day, I offered him another quick job at our other house nearby. I don't know about everyone else's experiences but I thought R&P was great. This morning I had sewage backing up into all of my showers. I was horrified because it's the weekend and I knew I needed this fixed so I could do laundry and shower for work. I sent out requests to multiple companies claiming to be 24/7 and all claimed to be booked until Mon/Tues. The few available wanted to charge exorbitant amounts for emergency fees. I finally reached out to R&P and they messaged me back within 5 mins, quoted me a price, and where out to my house in 20 mins. Btw, done with unclogging my main line, paid, and out the door. This whole turn around time from initial contact to finish was about an hour. I'm so grateful that not only did I get this fixed fast and reasonably priced for that rapid service. I don't think this is the same company I used several years ago but my sister just used them 2 weeks ago and she was so impressed with them finding the roots in her pipes. No only did they remove the pipes but they were able to also install a new toilet for her in the same visit. She stated they were fast, friendly, on time and did not go above what they quoted. She felt they were quality plumbers at a fair price. I just used them for a outdoor faucet that would not turn off. Answered in less than 20 minutes were able to get to the house and have the faucet fixed on a holiday weekend. Price was the same as he quoted. Did my search on Yelp and decided to go with Ron's company for our sewer concern. We emailed/texted to get a time frame set. Ron responded & kept me posted as his son, Steve was on his way.
