VERY rude staff. Please provide education on costumer service, courtesy, helpfulness, politeness, any or all. I tried to use a gift card I received for Christmas, went through self checkout, the card didn't go through, the lady there was nice but didn't know how to use the card said she didn't think that type of gift card worked, do I have another form of payment so I went to customer service to see if I could get assistance. I've had a few incidences where restaurants or retailers don't know how to use a gift card that can be redeemed at multiple businesses. Usually the cashiers have to do something, put it in as credit card, use a pin, I'm not sure but instructions are on the card. The lady at customer service was the rudest person I've encountered in a while, telling me "go to self check out, go to self checkout, go to self checkout!" I don't want to do self checkout, I wanted to have assistance with a gift card, which she gave me none, said do it yourself, if it doesn't go through it doesn't go through. I tried to explain the instructions on the card, she wasn't having it. I don't understand why certain people are in customer service. I don't think there is a name on the receipt or I would definitely call the lady out. No reason to be so rude. *I did call the gift card company, and it is to be used at Lowe's (it's right on the front of the card) and no I don't have to activate it, (both employees told me I had to activate it). I was told the cashier does have to put in the card as credit and the amount of the card, split payment or put in $25 for the card if the total purchase amount is more (in my case that was the issue). read more

Very unsatisfied with Lowes installation Formica kitchen counter. Actually Lowes contracted it to another company, who then contracted it to another company. What I received was not what I thought I was ordering. The edges on the counter are ugly and cheap looking. However, Lowes refused to give me any refund, and as there were multiple parties involved, everyone passed the buck to the next guy. I wasted money I can't afford to waste on this project! read more

Stopped in due to a flat tire. Anaís was an associate who helped us find the items we needed, she was very helpful. We had trouble using the items after purchase and were going back in to return the items. Every associate came by to help figure out what was the issue with the items and then Robert, who I think was the manager came outside and helped change our tire for us. He went above and beyond and was an absolute angel. None of which he needed to do, but did with a smile and in the cold. He solidified us all as a Lowe's costumer for life. Last night I placed an online order for mops at the Lowe's Cranston store, but this morning when I got up, I noticed they had changed my pick up store to this one in Warwick. No problem, the items were available. I walked into the store and the internet pickup area is right there as you walk in. In the same area where returns and customer service is located. I showed my UPC pick up code and a nice lady got my items quickly. She asked if I wanted my receipt printed or sent to my email, I chose the latter. Easy process. I needed a piece of plywood for a project but I do not have a truck so I was hoping to find a smaller option than the standard 4x8 size. I was able to find a good selection of pieces too small for what I needed and some 4x4 plywood, which I thought would work for me. I met the kindest and most helpful sales representative, Anne. The 4x4 plywood I grabbed did not have a price label on it so she happily looked it up. I then discovered the wood was too large to fit in my car. She noticed me hanging out in the parking lot and offered to shuttle the wood in her truck once her shift ended in 15 minutes. I was able to find a friend to come help me instead but Anne stayed to wait to make sure we were ok before leaving. Really this is a review for Anne for being a wonderful human but shoutout to Lowe's for employing her! read more

Property was damaged by delivery driver on Nov 26, 2024 and we have yet to hear back from anyone. I've contacted Lowe's and their delivery service no fewer than 6 times without success. The driver (Cipriano) demolished my neighbors mailbox (informed my and then left) upon leaving and has yet to take full responsibility and repace all damaged items ($555 plus installation). Lowe's store management has been non-responsive and I can't seem to get their attention to this matter. Take caution and ensure you inspect your delivered items AND your property during and after installation. Lowe's has essentially washed their hands of responsibility in this matter. The delivery company works for Lowe's and they need to step up and make things right - and then work the reimburstment with their delivery service XPO. Very poor customer service! read more

Tools toilets and plants A new store in a developing area of other new stores. A huge parking area and a pretty big store, even for a Lowe's. Still new enough to be nice and clean, it has a vast variety of kitchen stuff, flooring, toilets, sinks, hardware, paints, and just about everything else you could need for fixing up your home. It even has a huge garden room with all types of different and unusual plants and a bunch of sheds outside. The only trouble with these huge stores is that it is sometimes difficult to find help and once you do find someone they might not necessarily know what the hell they're talking about. Sometimes you just have to persistent and find someone else. It's not like the old time hardware store with some guy behind the counter that knows everything. Still, even with the minimal staffing It truly is a good place to get ideas and materials and tools if you like to fix or make things yourself. read more

This place is our go-to for random house fixes...and being that we live in a charming (read in-constant-need-of-21st century tlc) 1950's home, we are here a LOT. I think this store has helped up slowly replace or repair something in every room in our house (except the 60 yr old pink and black bathroom tiles which are in like - new condition - retro is here to stay!). My husband is the fix-it guy so I am often sent over here to fetch some random piece mid-project. Amazingly, even with my weak descriptive skills and random notes the staff has about a 90% success rate of sending me home with exactly the thing he needs. Did I mention that they are patient? I like the hot buttons located in the aisles that send someone to over to help you when you push them. Better than having to roam the store looking for help and a huge time saver. My absolute favorite area is the garden center. There are great deals here. In season, I always hit the distressed plant table. Most of the lush perrenials in my gardens have been resurrected from a sad little pot of dried up leaves. I love a bargain...and I love gardening. Perfect match. Easy returns seal the deal here. We have had to bring back items when buying too much (too many bales of insulation, wire, etc) for a project. We don't buy our wood here because it's pretty challenging to find high quality pieces, but that's a minor issue with so many lumber yards near our home. Lowe's is where it's at. read more

I tried to place an order for 50 plants for party favors in October today and was told that almost all employees were involved with inventory and not one person was available to help me. I asked to have someone call me back but was told that wasn't possible. The poor customer service staff had to take the brunt of my disgruntled attitude. Who is the incompetent person managing this Lowes? I shop at Lowes most days, usually the one in Cranston. If I send a worker, they ring out at Customer Service, and then I call in with a credit card number. At this Lowes, they refused this payment method, citing a store policy because "they had a couple of fraudulent cards used" before. Do your steady customers have to be inconvenienced because a $72 billion company had a couple of fraudulent credit card sales (even though one of your other stores a few miles away accepts phoned in credit card payments). However, they do allow credit card payments on line where one can then pick up the items at the store. How does that make any sense? The customer experience at Lowes is generally horrible, even though the workers try their best. At this Lowes, they're being lead by a moron, and it shows. A big shout out to Warwick Lowes. Alway impressed by the knowledge of everyone that works there. The Cranston Lowes is closer to my home, but never has the employees with enough knowledge to either find what I need or will send me on a wild goose chase, with the wrong aisle number. Today I was shopping again. Drove out of my way to the Warwick Lowes on Greenwich Ave, because they never fail to be spot on with guidance to where everything is located. A big shout out to Kathryn. She not only knew which aisle but approximately how far down the product that I needed would be. She stayed walked with me to make sure I quickly found it and I asked for a location for another product and she knew exactly where it was. She was very pleasant. Took the time to locate her after and tell her personally what a pleasure it was to have someone help with a smile and know where everything is. I also have found that when I shop online to make sure the things I need are available at the store, Cranston always has the wrong quantities. I'll go to the store to find when it says 10 available, most times they are out of stock. Where at the Warwick store they are more accurate with what's in stock. I am amazed by the difference between both locations. I wonder if management is much better in Warwick. I also have found that the store in Warwick is better stocked. It's also always nice and neat. I noticed every employee was straightening aisles when they were not helping customers. I will always go to this location in the future. placed an order online for an LG dishwasher and website said confined inventory in store in Warwick location. arrived to find out inventory was wrong and appliance gentleman was rude and told me to wait since I was not first and took another gentleman in front of me. We picked our item and was cashing out when we found out the item was more expensive. The item we selected was in the wrong area in the department showing the wrong price. This is MY Lowe's. What I mean is that it is right down the street from my house. It is only a few years old and in the old Apex lot (hey, I am a Rhode Islander!) I have been going there since it opened and love it. We use to go to the other Lowes all the way on the other side of Warwick, the one at the old Tent site (again...you Rhode Islanders know what I am talking about) and this Lowes is only a minute away. Sometime I will take the kids there just to get out of the house. They had a free hot chocolate machine which the kids love...it is sadly gone. The staff has been awesome...from returns, to cashiers, to each section of the store. They also have those help buttons which make employees come running!!! I think if they dont answer them in a timely manner, they get in trouble. We talk to the employees every time we go in there and they are always nice. I like that and thus the five stars. The selection is great and the prices are normal. They do discount and my brother and I try to get the best deals on the discounted plants. My $1.00 orchid keeps blooming...take that brother!! The only concern is that the lumber is par at best. Takes a looong time to find a few nice 2x4's or any other lumber. I have spent waaaaaay too much money there, but will always go there to buy my supplies that I need to maintain my house that seems to be falling apart.....starting to think that someone from Lowes is up too no good! They deserve a Woohoo as Yelp says....customer service is important to me and I have had great customer service. The location on Greenwich Ave. leaves much to be desired all around. My husband waited 25 minutes to pick up an online order w/no one in front of him, pushing the button to alert staff someone was waiting to pick up an order FIVE times. I understand retailers are suffering from lack of staff, but there were 2 self-checkout clerks standing nearby that weren't busy that could've helped and didn't. I've worked in retail and understand what the staff is dealing with, but where's management? How can they let things like this happen? read more

Contracted for 7 panels of stockade fence to be installed on May 28, 2018. Installation date was set for August 20th more than 10 weeks later. Got called the morning of August 19th and said the job was canceled because someone forgot to put the product on the truck. Are you trying to tell me that their isn't 7 panels of basic cheap stockade fence anywhere, at any store!! Now the installer that they had lined up doesn't have the time to do it and I have no idea when this product, that is now sitting in my driveway, will be installed. needed a snow blower belt , went to lowes on greenwhich av meet this guy mike. he showed me where the belts were and looked for the belt i needed for me,as i had the old broken belt with me. They did not have the size i needed but he didnt give up he knew where there were a few more belts so we went to that area and found the right belt for my snow blower, this guy was so very help full his name was mike and he took the time to help me if more employees were like him i wouldn't shop anywhere else for my needs read more

I live in-between this location and the Cranston one and always pick this one if I can. Love it! Great customer service, super knowledgeable garden center staff, and most of the time I can find someone to help me. We just bought our first house and may have spent too much time and money in this place, but it's been worth it. (You know you're at a store too often when you notice your favorite service desk girl dyed her hair and it looks great!). ;-) I just picked up some seeds and starter supplies to get our garden kick started soon. Can't wait to pick up the supplies and build our first raised bed for our first real vegitable garden. I know the pals at Lowes will send us in the right direction. I have to admit, I typically run the other way when it comes to hardware and home projects. Ever since I was a child- lumber and tools seemed to have that affect on me. I do enjoy their garden center. It is always filled with greenery, flowers and beautiful garden and patio accessories. I recently had an experience with my husbad where we were seeking some assistance with closet organizers/shelving. The structure we wanted was one we had to purchase in pieces and it appeared they were missing some of the essential parts. We rang the bell for help and within a few minutes a sales clerk arrived. It was a hopeless situation. Even though "Rob from appliances" tried to be helpful- it took us a few tries to explain what we needed, a few blank looks from Rob, a few miutes as he ran to ask another clerk and upon his return he responded they must be out of what we needed. I didnt truly buy that Rob knew what was going on. This is unfortunate but I guess it can be expected within such a large establishment.. As much as I would love every employee to be an expert on every item in the store- it is just not realistic. read more

If I could put 0 stars I would of. I went to Lowes to have a bathroom completely remodeled and also a upgraded kitchen. Knowing I would spend several thousands more going with Lowes rather than going directly with a contractor I thought having a big box store working with me would be the way to go. The designer at this location is not a designer as she represents herself. She is sales person throughout. She will promise the world and make you feel like the project will go smooth and someone from Lowes will always be available when needed. She mentions that drawings will be created for the contractor so everyone will be on the same page. Also mentions that she will be apart of the project until the job is complete. Timeline on this project was 4-6 weeks projected but 8 weeks with a buffer if needed. The contractor started the work without any drawings. Baseboard heating element and lights were getting put in the wrong place. Plumbing had to be baby sat and changed due to lack of planning. I asked for the drawings at least a dozen times with no response back. To the point I had to stop the contractor completely and create my own drawings detailing where everything went including dimensions. I called the designer and emailed without any response. The time I did get a hold of her she said "I am to busy to deal with you". I went into Lowes trying to contact her where she said to me "my job is finished when the contract is signed". Therefore proving the point she is a sales person and not a designer. I spent all my time working directly with the contractor making sure everything was done right. I tried to get several other people from lowes to help me through this process and no one seemed to want to help. I purposely paid Lowes to oversee this project and paid them a premium to do so. Once the contract was signed they handed me off to the contractor without drawings and basically said good luck. Knowing what I know now I would of went directly to a contractor and saved myself thousands of dollars. Lowes is nothing more than a overpriced Angie's List. They did not provide the service that they said they would do. Entire project took 16 weeks. Nightmare. Don't make the mistake I did, contact a contractor directly. You will save. read more

I bought a Roper dryer at this Lowe's a year and a half ago. The other week the dryer burnt...LITERALLY BURNT my clothes and the vent was extremely hot to the touch. I check the vent which was clear from lint and debris. Lowes insisted it was the vent so i changed the vent and tested it on low heat with the same result. It is slightly over the one year warranty and Lowes and whirlpool dont want to pay for service which is fine. My issue is that they dont even care about the fact that my 1 and a half year old dryer i bought from them almost started a fire and potentionally couldve burnt my house down. Both of them trying to toss blame at one another and evade the facts. My one and a half year old dryer almost started a fire at my house and could've killed me and my family. (but nobody seems to care). I called today for service but im perfectly fine with driving another mile down the road to spend my money at home depot. The customer service in this store is awful. After spending thousands on new flooring and additional items they messed up our delivery date, which hey mistakes happen. The problem is when you try to call to find out what is going on. Not only do you wait on hold all day, but you get transferred from one department to the other. On the off chance you actually speak to someone, they are incredibly rude and basically tell you too bad. After all this we went back to the store and spoke directly to the manager. Our delivery came the next day and several boxes of flooring were broken. The manager tried to be accommodating but after what we were put through he can save his 10% off future transactions. I called to buy a GE front loading washing machine that was advertized. Major Appliances was paged out 4 times and management once with no one answering, the operator kept apologizing when it came back to her, before I finally gave up. I called the 877 number and gave "Meagan" all the information and my credit card number. Somehow Lowes/Meagan entered the order twice. Two hours later, two calls to my credit card company and 3 calls to Lowes, my washer was enroute in three days. I was emailed a copy of the order and a receipt. 2 hours later Meagan called, she canceled my order stating it wasn't in stock. I am personally a manager at another place of business so customer service is something we preach as well as "core values" so I am the last person to complain or be disappointed in customer service or a product because I get it at the other end as well and I understand things happen. I have stoped going once before and with the benefit of the doubt years later I tried again and twice with in the past week I went 0-2. Monday I went in acquiring about baseboard and asked a gentleman for help and he told me " to go to aisle 10 take a left and go out the door and leave" chuckled and then said I'm busy if you are here In ten minutes I might be free to help. So I continue to shop and selected 8 baseboard pieces, 8 crown molding boards and another 8 trim pieces on the higher end quality. Now the same gentleman is walking at me with a purpose being more kind then ever telling me please come cash out with me so I can get the points. Now on Wednesday I go back (silly me) to return a exhaust cover and to buy other things that was necessary for my kitchen remodel. I kindly ask the customer service attendant that I need to grab a few more items while I am here so either cash or store credit would be highly appreciated and he confirms and acknowledges the statement. Then said "ops I put it on the card by accident I guess you will have to use your own money to buy the items you wanted today. The audacity and smirk on this employee's face made my decision of never returning to any Lowe's establishment ever again very easy. I am truly disgusted by the experience my mother had at this store today. She is an older woman and is very sickly. She was trying to pick up a bag of garden soil and was struggling as a male employee just looked on. Realizing he wasn't going to offer help, she went up to the registers where there were plenty of cashiers and no one in line. She asked one of the cashiers if she could get some help and the cashier just stared at her and said "you're going to have to do it yourself" my mom simply responded "I'm not able to right now I'm too weak" and the cashier responded with "well I don't know what to tell you" my mom just left the store immediately after as she was mortified. Just purchased a dryer yesterday morning because I needed this asap and they do next day delivery.. They showed up today and the man said we have your dryer but it a bid dent in the front of it but you can take it and will give you 10% off!!!! Are you kidding me... I called the store manager and asked if they can leave this one so that I can start drying all the wet clothes we still had and he said no but we can have one delivered to you tomorrow.. This is probably my second favorite Lowes. Depending on which way I head out in the morning this Lowes is conveniently only 5-7 minutes from my house. Lowes is a good store for homeowners and contractors alike. It is my store of choice to send customers to look at lighting, faucets, etc for their projects. Great selection, nice layout, and fairly knowledgeable people. Don't forget veterans or active duty military get 10% off every day. Can't beat that! read more

Both the kid at Customer Service and the manager at Professional Services were powerless, unmotivated and unable to help me purchase an individual ceiling tile when there was clearly a stack of them on the shelf with a upc for individual sale. "We only sell them by the case they said. Well then what are they going to do with the stack of individual ceiling tiles someone kindly placed on the shelf? Is there really nothing they can do? Os this the first store ever not to have a price override button and a calculator? Well guess what, I called Home Depot and they sell individual tiles so thanks for nothing but wasting my time Lowe's. For the record, the cashiers were very nice and tried to be helpful.
