Several generations removed from their sales force counterparts, today's sales folk see a weekly paystub as their reason for clocking in each day...PERIOD. High pressure, worn out slogans, and bait and switch have become so commonplace that it is now the accepted norm. Not at BIG SANDY I have to be honest here and admit that we had purchased a Living Room chair from this location roughly eighteen months prior to our recent visit. We were so blown away by the store, it's cleanliness, It's attention to detail in the way their pieces were displayed and grouped, and most of all their staff, that we had returned in hopes of experiencing that same professional, knowledgeable engagement again. We were not to be disappointed, as our sales person from our first purchase was in house that day. His name is Bryan Bauer. I cannot say enough kind words to describe the impeccable care we received, (again), from this gentleman. Professional, Knowledgeable, Courteous, are the first three that come to mind. Earlier I asked if you were old enough to remember what shopping in a retail establishment was like in the 70's. A time in which each and every customer was treated like the "only" customer. The item would not…read morediscount at the register and after almost 30 minutes and 3-4 associates attempting to figure out why the discount wouldn't go through, "Mike" showed up. Keep in mind all of those associates individually confirmed the SKU #s of the items I was purchasing lined up with deal. Mike told me "it's an online only deal" and walked away. He offered to comp about half of the item that was supposed to be free. I left and found the deal in "store mode" on the Home Depot app and called Mike back over to show him that the deal is available in store as well. He told me to "take it up with corporate". He also told me to order online and wait for the order to process for 15 minutes. You'd think if I can stand in the store and order the deal online, he could use his mighty manager powers to honor the deal in store as well. He chose not to. In total wasted over an hour of my time and was offered no acceptable solution. Thanks Mike! Won't be coming back.
