Just had Lowe's sub-contractor install a new electric cooktop and he did a very professional installation for us. He installed the new cooktop up to the proper safety code as the old one had been installed by a contractor 21 years ago. He immediately noticed our dishwasher was not sitting flush and balanced, so corrected this as he noticed it had not been installed correctly! (Reason for the imbalanced setup)! Today, for me, Lowe's dropped from a 5 star to a 3 star. But I am rating a 4 star because the company is fantastic. I went into the store looking for sandpaper and an associate was helpful in helping me find a wide variety. (Great interaction at this point.) Then he asked me what sander I needed it for and I explained it was a handheld one I was borrowing from my father and I didn't know what size but I could cut it down if it was too wide/long. (This is where it started going downhill.) He told me to have my dad come get it for me since I don't know much about tools. He then continued to say I should have asked these questions before taking the sander. At the end of our discussion he tried to get me to buy ANOTHER sander so I'd be more knowledgeable about what I needed. Unfortunately he walked away before I could ask to speak to his manager. Lowe's is a great company, just will not be visiting for awhile, hope everything gets better for that man. read more

Hubby and I stopped in to get a higher wattage dimmer switch in early September. Then shopped in the garden area and tried to check out there. Item not listed in computer (switch)... 3 girls tried to resolve... not happening. Call manager.. waited for manager... put in a second call... to no avail. Told them forget it and left without it. Flash forward 2 weeks... Visited again. Saw a fan on the ceiling but none on the floor and had questions - no assoc. around. Asked for help and waited... no one came. 15 minutes later we moved on for anchors and wall hardware. Associate was very helpful. Saw the switch and decided to give it another shot. Same song and dance at the register. (Someone just put it back and did not take care of the issue.) THIS TIME I FORCED THEM TO DO IT. I just kept telling everyone loudly behind me that it would be a while because the item is not in computer. (About 6-7 unhappy people because it was the only line that wasn't self check-out) Another 15 minutes later we finally got it. Yesterday Hubby goes in for tile backing for behind soap dish after teenager used it as a step stool to reach tub window. Searched several areas and unable to find what he needed. Called for an associate to help and no one ever came. He waited 45 minutes and no one ever came to help. I love Lowe's but do not like the lack of customer service at this location. I will travel out of my way 6 miles next time to I45/Cypresswood location - I always receive good service THERE. read more

Worse place to buy appliances!! We went to buy a microwave for a replacement for our built it. We bought one as close to to our old one . We asked about installation. Oh we don't do over the range or countertops. We go back the next week. Oh yes we install built ins. Ok we pay for installation. Guy comes out but can't install because we don't have a trim kit. We go back for the third time. Oh there's no trim kit for that microwave. ????? We said we needed to replace our built in!! We had to order a custom kit. Are used to like shopping here. The service has gotten worse and worse. Hordes of employees walk by not attending to customers who are obviously waiting. The final straw for me was going to drop over $200 on a ceiling fan that I really liked, and I just wanted to see it turned on. It makes a huge difference to see the thing turned on so you know how bright the lights are or not. That will tell you if it's the appropriate brightness for the room. But then I find out they can't turn all of them on. That might sound like a first world problem, but that's the whole point of this store ... to see if this stuff will do well for you or not. Not to mention it took someone 30 minutes to come to the lighting desk after I pushed the button multiple times. read more

Cashier is beyond rude and unprofessional. If I could give this zero stars or negative stars I would. We were there 5/19/2017 and went to the self checkout and had a gift card on my phone. We asked the cashier to scan it--a Lowe's gift card that I purchased. She seemed perturbed that we awoke her up from her little nap of doing nothing-short, overweight, blonde older Caucasian woman who worked self checkout at about 8:30pm. She started saying stuff like she "couldn't scan it" and that "this doesn't work" and that the "register doesn't take Apple Pay." We told her there's no where that it says it doesn't work as the register allows you to select gift card, this is their gift card and that it isn't Apple Pay or whatever ridiculous thing she was saying to get out of working. We even offered to do her job for her if she didn't want to do it, or we could just bring out stuff to another register where it could work. She begrudgingly completed the transaction like it was such an inconvenience for her to do is. Note to store management, don't hire useless, rude and unprofessional people that don't want to help. UNETHICAL! This Lowes on Kuykendahl and 2920 presold high demand Xmas laser lights to a employee which was the LAST ONE with no more shipped this season. Both manager and employee shrugged their shoulders and said, oh well...it's sold can't do nothing bout that. Are you kidding me? Where do I even start about the awful service at this ridiculous store... Brought a 1,000 dollar fridge to basically take on a part time complaining job! This store clearly has no idea how to take care of customers because I waited five days for a fridge to be delivered when I was promised in store that it would be delivered the next day. Wait two hours in store for them to handle their credit card line issue Sunday morning get a call saying I'm getting a dented fridge for the time being ..said okay (needed a fridge immediately) Sunday waited all day for the delivery service...no line of communication telling me that my fridge will not be delivered Monday- get a call telling me my card declined. Called my card company..card never declinded- first lie...had to move the delivery date to the next date Tuesday - no delivery no call. Called Lowe's cooperation...was willing to give me 10% off.. Thankful for it but after having to throw out $150 dollars worth of food...not too happy with 10%. Wednesday - can't come in our time frame and requires me to change to Thursday delivery date. Keep in mind three days without a fridge now when promised next day delivery (joke, I tell you) I'm my head ...I'm thinking " I'm sorry I have to work to afford a fridge that clearly can't be delivered" Thursday finally a fridge shows up...after I took on a second job of calling Lowe's and the third party delivery service. I thought my problem was officially done...false thoughts. The third party delivery service sent an untrained , disrespectful and unprofessional individual who decided to do half crap work which caused water to spill all over my kitchen floor. Plus from the installation caused the water to leak and caused the saturation of my childs' carpet and my hard wood floors to lift. All because I decided to buy a fridge from lowes. The sad part is my problem has yet to be resolved from this location...they decided to wipe their hands off and pass the problem to Kingwood. I guess that how they solve their problems..pass it on to others rather than handling it themselves. Their third party deliver service ( XPO) is a joke...they would call me every day for four days straight to lie to me about my delivery time. When using the express lane..the girl would not accept a copy of my Naval Officer Commission Certificate for a military discount.. I have used this certificate numerous times at many Lowes's locations....When I told her it was personally signed by the Secretary of the Navy...she had no clue who he was... and more importantly didn't care......Now because of this person I have to spend 45 min of my time and go to my regular Tomball Lowes to get a credit issued....A complete Moron! I spent over $4000 in the last 60 days at the Tomball Lowe's....This type of customer service is inexcusable....She could have called a Manager for a clarification... A well known proverb comes to mind after dealing with this person........ Stopped in here to get some lumber and a few tools for a project I'm working on at home and while they didn't have everything I needed, this is a great local big box hardware store, the staff is friendly and genuinely try to help even though they seemed new to the store and the sections they staffed, they got me to where I needed to go and I left with a few items crossed off my list. read more

Long lines and only 1 cashier working. Self checkout is impossible for large heavy items. Asked where we could find an iron and was told they are out of season by a dude who was chomping on Fritos. Really? I guess there is an ironing clothes season? I also asked if they had a clothes steamer (since irons are not in season). Was told I need to ask someone. I thought that's what I was doing. Every time I been here everybody's been super helpful there's only been a handful of times that I have to walk around and look for somebody to help me which isn't so bad. But it is unusual that they close early. Restaurants I understand because they don't want anybody staying there too long but not home improvement stores. The staff is always quick and willing to assist me and often they will ask me if I need assistance before I ask for their assistance. I have never left without finding what I need! I have bought 2 dishwashers in 5 years from this location. I payed for them both to be installed. The first one I bought, the installers didn't even bother to show up on the day the installation was scheduled. as if this wasn't bad enough, I have had a worse experience this time. I purchased a Bosch Dishwasher from this location. I had to wait 10 days for it to be delivered to the store. This was tolerable since this dishwasher was marked a best buy by consumer reports. The day it was scheduled to be installed, the installer called me and said he was at the store but no one was in the department to help him. Being less than a mile from the store, I jumped in my car and drove to the store, wouldn't you know it the installer wasn't even at the store! The installer arrived about 1 hour later. Hurriedly installed the dishwasher, turned it on and was on his merry way. This model has a self locking door, I have only owned ones with a sliding lever that locks the door. I soon noticed that the cycle was being interrupted, and after pushing on the door it resumed. After a month of this I decided to investigate. I saw the locking mechanism was not catching the groove made in the top of the door. I called Lowes and scheduled a repair. The repair man that showed up had to text another person on his laptop to try and figure out what was wrong. He diagnosed it as a defective locking mechanism, showed me how to install it , when it arrived ,because I didn't want to waste another day off to be at my home after the part arrived. In the meantime I called Bosch to check out his diagnosis. The person at Bosch informed me the diagnosis was incorrect and that I should have contacted them first. My wife took the day off to wait for the Bosch repairman. He was there for about 10 minutes, but when he left the door locked. That is, for about 5 closings! I called Bosch and they have to "investigate" the situation. So I called Lowes and the person told me that all they could do was send another repairman out! I asked for another unit but was refused. This is very poor customer service. I also have experienced the same problems of poor customer service inside the store that other reviews have wrote about. BEWARE OF THIS STORE! read more

I waited ten years to buy a new frig. Lowe's was having a sale so I bought the one I wanted at a discount because it was dented on the outside. I started having trouble the minute it arrived. The flooring department left much to be desired. We were told that they could not look up product from another store and we needed to drive to Tomball to find out if the store carried a product. If I could give them a zero I would!!!!!!!!! We ordered countertops and flooring 2 months later we still have not heard anything. So we call the store multiple times and constantly get hung up on. Finally get the complaint line they state they will have a manger call us back to this day that has never happened. Finally three months into this ordeal and not any communication from lowes or there installers we disput installation on credit card mind you we have tried multiple time to get a hold of them with no success. three days after speaking with the credit card company installers call to put in flooring which some is unlevel but they were supposed to put on baseboards which was never done now that is a new fight. Then countertop people come and install countertops they are unlevel, cracked, and pieced together our countertop was three pieces and now it is four still fighting to get our money back on baseboards and countertops so we can have someone else come in and do it right the first time. Now we do not have a sink or dishwasher very difficult to do dishes. Managed to call all news stations in Houston to tell them how lowes is ripping off a senior citizen. Just left there and was blown away by how helpful everyone was. . I've never gotten bad service at this lowes, but tonight everyone we encountered went above and beyond to help. I know it is kind of crappy to come in an hour of closing, but not once were we treated like we were an inconvenience.
