I give up on Lowe's. I travel 250 days a year, I really despise Home Depot, but Lowe's in every single state in the country has absolutely the worst, don't-give-a-shit-about-customer-service, stores. I walk in this place at 9 o'clock straight up. Look at my phone and notice that. It's now 934 and I am walking out the door, after three different people paged three different times for me to get help in the tool department so that I could buy chargers, batteries, and a Dewalt drill. I'll take my $500 to someone how can at least FAKE like they give a damn. No one ever showed up, which makes the fact that the tools aren't priced, even more irritating. I wish Menards was a nationwide chain because they blow the doors off of both Lowe's and Home Depot and I'd never set foot in either of those worthless chains again. I saw that some of their reviews were not so stellar so it was a little bit hesitant to shop here. Folder disclaimer I didn't actually have to go into the store to do any shopping because I use the app. I saw that they had a rug on sale that I wanted to purchase and this was the closest store That had it in stock. I easily placed my order online. It was ready within an hour of me ordering it. When I arrived after work to pick it up, it was inside of the pick up locker by the front entrance. I easily walked in scanned my QR code and picked up my rug. It was a pretty quick and easy process. read more

Did a quick stop here to make a payment on a card. I'm always a bit confused when it come to making a card payment. You go to one location and it has to be at the checkout lines. Then you go to another location and you have to make the payment at the customer service desk. Whatever. Just be consistent. Got here and walked inside and made my way over to the customer service desk and luckily there was no one there. Handed over the payment slip and payment and let the sales associate do their thing. My husband and I visited this location this morning because we needed to purchase a new refrigerator and we had to get something that we could actually bring home today. We went to the appliance department and a young man named Ryan helped us. We gave him all of our criteria, and he saved us from having to walk the isles, and then have to find someone and instead, he searched the computer system, and told us what was readily available within our guidelines that we could take home today. Ryan was friendly and professional, and very knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to help us. He went so far as to even go in the back and pull the refrigerator and bring it up front and load our vehicle for us. I don't know if that is normal, but we sure did appreciate it. We have purchased another appliance from this location in the last year as well. And, that interaction went just as smoothly. However, I wanted to make sure to write a review and give props to Ryan because he was fantastic. In general, we have found that Lowes has a far greater selection when it comes to appliances than the Home Depot. So, when it comes to larger purchases, we will definitely continue to go to Lowe's. read more

I visited this store on 3/2/22 and never submitted this review or email to Lowe's. Hopefully this employee no longer works here now but disappointed in myself for not submitting then. I had to attach my email to complete an online order and stumbled upon this. I then came to Yelp and unfortunately didn't post it either. Horrible customer service manager. Something simple as exchanging a flower that was purchased without the pot because it was broken, became I ridiculous ordeal of this unprofessional lady raising her voice, laughing, repeating herself multiple times and speaking to me as if I was her child and not a customer. I can not believe the dibacle she turned my return into by refusing to replace my dead flower. Yes, it was my fault it died but Lowe's does take back dead plants. I could not believe the disrespect I received from the customer service manager Myriama.  I came into the store to exchange an orchid I purchased as a gift for a friend that had died. I purchased the orchid from another store and the vase was broken so they sold me only the orchid at a discounted rate. When I explained to the customer service representative manager what happened she refused to replace the orchid. She yelled at me multiple times and continuously repeated she wasn't going to do that. I felt disrespected, belittled, and embarrassed because I had my sister with me and a friend who has special needs. I could not believe how unprofessional she was and I asked her not to continue to twist herself because I understood the first time and her repeating the same information wasnt helpful. She continued to raise her voice repeat herself because I understood what she said the first time and she continued  I was in disbelief the whole time that she was a manager and I was being treated this way. I just simply wanted to exchange the flower for another flower. My sister told me that she remembered her because she raised her voice at her before when she had did a curbside pickup for paint. The paint was not mixed and when my sister got home to find that she came back to the store to let them know. The same customer service manager Myriama, raise your voice and told my sister she was wrong because she should have checked the paint before she left the curbside. She also informed my sister that she was supposed to get the paint at curbside and then come in so the paint could be mixed. That doesn't make sense. I am let down and can I believe I was talked to with such disrespect and treated like a child by someone who was supposed to be the customer service manager. The young lady who was with me with special needs was afraid and terrified to choose a different flower. I ended up returning the flower that had died and purchased two different orchids because they were pretty and I wanted to get over the horrible experience. I was sent it to not purchase anything but I couldn't leave without buying another orchid for the gift. This was such a horrible experience that it makes me not want to shop at Lowe's again because if I have to return something, I'm going to be faced with ridicule. read more

I visit Lowe's Home Improvement few times a month. The store is always clean and well organized. For the most part, The employees are friendly. I am deducting 2 stars because the appliance section. Few moths ago, I tried to purchase a refrigerator at this location. I asked for assistance and waited for someone to help me for over 20 minutes and didn't get help. I left the store without purchasing the refrigerator. Now, I'm trying to purchase a Washer on a very slow Tuesday. Again I asked for assistance, I waited for a long time and couldn't get anyone to help me. Like the previous time I tried to purchase the refrigerator, I left the store without purchasing the Washer. I found whatvi needed between to stores: Columbia and Laurel, Md. I went to Columbia store because it was the closest. I noticed right away Veteran's only parking, so I pulled right in. I went into the store, and too my surprise, none of the shades i wanted were available. Strange given online status. I left there and headed to the Laurel store. At Laurel, I found only 2 of shades I wanted. Somewhat annoyed, I sought out help and they agreed they did not have the stock referenced online. I don't usually review chain stores but, I'm surprised the ratings are so low. I typically frequent this place for their plant selection, which is vast and there are some good finds! However, I've popped in for everything from nails to lightbulbs, paint, air filters, and even an oven. The customer service has always been super nice and helpful, the selection is pretty good for all things home repair and they were so communicative delivering my oven. I have been pretty happy so far popping in here whenever I need random household repair items. read more

Lowe's Home Improvement was offering Labor Day sales throughout the appliance department. I browsed various washer and dryers in the appliance department, and found what I was searching for. I had to wait about fifteen minutes for Lowe's employee: Larry to assist me. His co-worker was on his lunch break. Once Larry was available, he was very personable towards me. I purchased a washer and dryer, and made arrangements for the free delivery and installation to my new home. I also purchased other accessories for the installation of the washer and dryer. I am happy with the excellent customer service that Larry provided. I am looking forward to returning to Lowe's in the near future. read more

We tried to pick up two online orders. Now that Lowe's has split the location of online order pickup from the customer service desk, there's almost never anyone staffed at the online order pickup desk. Brad, wearing an Oriole's hat while everyone else was wearing Lowe's-branded clothing, was so informal and unprofessional and had such apathy for his job it was clear in his tone and demeanor. He was unwilling to listen to the types of orders we had (one that was ready for pickup and one that was not yet ready). He was immediately negative and said that it wasn't ready without even letting me explain I had two orders. We offered to fulfill the second order by picking up the items ourselves and all he had to do was check out the order as fulfilled. He agreed to it, told us to come back with the items, and then just disappeared. He helped another customer group and also disappeared from assisting them, who were also waiting at the pickup area for more than 20 minutes. We asked several people to assist. Another associate, Michael, walked by the area and didn't bother helping us or the other customer group. No eye contact, no "sorry for the wait," no "someone will be with you," nothing. He saw all of waiting. A little while later Brad came by, made eye contact, saw our stuff, and continued on and never returned to the desk. We asked several other team members such as a cashier at the customer service desk and a paint specialist at the paint counter---no luck. They said two people are staffed there, but neither was around. We finally asked a floor supervisor, Sebastian, to assist, who was willing to help and check out our order. He had trouble with the machine and took an inordinate amount of time but at least someone was finally helping us. Along with the shopping center being extremely busy, I have ruled out this location as a potential place to shop. Really, really lacking in customer service. read more

We've had very good luck at this Lowe's location. Buying everything from a small bag of screws to big tools to several thousand dollars worth of gravel, mulch, and stones for our yard, all delivered, to over $10K for some big door replacements. While the idea both here and at the orange place is to walk in and auto-find an expert in your area of choice (plumber, roofer, ...) you can't always do that. Sometimes it's just sheer luck. Other times if you're a bit persistent and ask around, that one person, the best expert in the world at left elbow bends for your specific size of downspout, will take all the time you need to explain every option available. When we do have to return things it's easy, though I will admit that waiting for the staff to stop mucking around until they "see" me and get to me can be frustrating. We got all five of our exterior doors replaced through this Lowe's. Our salesman, Rick, was fantastic. He spent hours (literally) explaining all of our options (there were many) and found and applied every discount he possibly could. And the contractors they sent to do the installs were great. We've ordered ahead and we've also just gone and browsed. Their online inventory seems to be very up to date. I really have very little to complain about. read more

I recently purchased kitchen cabinets from Lowes. I worked with a woman named Carol, who was so incredibly slow, I had to meet with her three times for over an hour each to place the order. Seven weeks later, the custom order cabinets that cost over $20k finally arrive. The contractors install them, and I realize that Carol made a data-entry error, and 3 of our cabinets are a foot too tall. After meeting with her over and over and spoon-feeding her the cabinet dimensions, she still managed to screw it up. I've visited Lowes every day since then to try and fix the order so we can get the right size cabinets. Tomorrow will be day 5. Every single day, the staff there say that there's nobody there who can help me. Customer service said to talk to Carol. Carol said to talk to the store manager. The store manager said to talk to the other store manager. There's always "someone else" I need to talk to, who's not working that day/shift/moment. Today, when I talked to the store manager, his "solution" was to tell me that I "signed a contract." He told me that the cabinets I need will cost even more than I've already paid, because the store's sale promotion has changed. He took absolutely no responsibility for Carol's mistake, treated me like I'm a fool, and his final recommendation was that I talk to the other store manager, who will be available tomorrow. read more

I don't live here, so I'm not doing home improvement projects in Columbia/Elkridge. I needed a plant for a gift and so I headed directly towards the home gardening area. A good selection of houseplants organized by the amount of light needed (low, medium, high) and with prices marked almost clearly. I found a decent plant in a good price range and needing medium light. Item one. I then found a nice ceramic pot that just about perfectly fit the plant. Prices here were a little harder to determine, but I found something here. Item two. Only two registers open and right next to each other so people had sort of formed a single line even though there were two. Six or seven people waiting, so it would have been good to have a second register open. Store was clean and tidy. The parking lot was clear of litter and shopping carts. read more

Not the most ideal home improvement shopping experience. I've had my eye on an LG washer/dryer set and headed over to this Lowe's to make my purchase. I saw the same exact set at Home Depot the week prior, but Lowe's was running a sale. They did not have the model on the showroom floor and were also out of stock. Other Lowe's in the area had the item in stock, but we were told they don't share stock between stores. What an inconvenience to the customer! In this day and age, I thought they would be able to facilitate a smoother buying process. Nah. I'll be heading to Home Depot tomorrow to complete my $$$$ transaction. This was a Lowe's that saved me at the last moment when I needed to grab an item. Upon walking into one of these places you know how hard it can be to find something quickly. Luckily Lowe's keeps everything labelled clearly but for specific or niche items it helps to have staff who is motivated and friendly. I had a gentleman spot that I was looking around and thought I was in right section but couldn't place what I was looking for. He quickly walked up, asked what I needed, pointed me to the exact direction and was on his way. Quick, helpful and efficient. Keep it up team, definitely appreciate the help. read more

We need to purchase a new gas range. I've been looking at the Lowes website and stopped by to see some of the models we were considering. It was about 3:00 on a Tuesday afternoon and the Columbia, MD store wasn't super busy. The display of ranges is right next to a service desk, soseveral employees were nearby. I spent more than half an hour in the small department looking at each range more than once. Lowes staff walked right by me as if I wasn't there. Not one person asked if I had any questions or needed help. I guess I should get used to being "invisible." I'm an elderly woman and I was (heaven forbid!) shopping in a hardware store alone. It's a shame. If somebody had paid attention they might have made a sale. read more

A lot of back and forth between store associates, corporate office and installer on what is in scope of work and ordering. It is now the end of July, no follow up on the remaining two items from the installer or store associate (Nick). Will never order a single item from Lowe's again. Awful communication. read more

This is probably my most favorite place to shop. Lowe's in my opinion is probably hands down a homeowners best friend, a mans man cave, a woman's appliance and accessory heaven, a starving artist's dream come true, a Do-It-Yourselfer's life's fulfillment. Discounts are offered on their site and they have coupons that you can benefit from. Sales are generally for like the appliances or garden area. Sometimes on their door inventory as well. They also give contractor discounts and my personal favorite the military discount. I come here a lot for art supplies. I love that you go to an art store and the the same product you see at Lowe's is marked up by almost 200% because it has some hip name on it, how a wood panel at an art store made of crap material is marked up by almost 250-300%. Lowe's don't get any ideas. I think the staff is friendly, I just think there may not be enough staff on the floor. I usually have to walk half the store length before I find someone, wait until they are done with the last customer then get his attention. Oh yeah, the garden area is awesome, but maybe have someone that knows plants and survivability in Maryland weather. Probably my only two improvements. read more

Purchasing a new refrigerator was an ordeal . Waited for service and ordered a refrigerator and it came delivered damaged . I had to get a credit find a new one we liked and hope and wait that this would be delivered in good working order . Oscar was great both times he delivered or tried to deliver . Fatima was worth her weight in gold as she had the patience to keep looking and making sure the new one was in stock because often times the computer was wrong about what actually was in stock . Rich the assistance manager was of no help and could not care less about my issues or problems or concerns . Honestly if wasn't for Fatima and Oscar I would never ever shop in this store again I would rather give the dollars to a local small shop in Ellicott City or Rockville , Md .. Price wasn't the issue , service was the only thing that mattered and only two people stepped up .. It's a shame that having an entire store with only one dependable , caring manager makes all the difference . I've been a loyal customer of Lowe's over Home Depot since I bought my house two years ago. But I had a very shocking experience today with my appliance order for a new refrigerator. Lowe's sent technicians to my house to install a new refrigerator with a built in ice maker. However, when they arrived, they refused to hook up the ice maker because the water line is copper. They told me to call a plumber and left without completing the installation. I was surprised because I chose Lowe's for their customer service and reliable contractors. Now, two days from Thanksgiving, I'm now trying to find a plumber to compete the installation I paid for at Lowe's. I asked for a partial refund, since now I have to pay for a plumber, but the customer service center at the store location refused. I'd warn other home owners to be wary and ask a lot of questions when buying appliances from Lowe's. read more

This is for appliance ordering. In store service is great, however, their logistic for ordering appliances should be an embarrassment. Make sure you add adjustment time of 2 to 7 days for actual delivery as their method for predicting delivery is so off. Especially considering if you have to take off from work or want to recycle through BGE for $50. Corporate: if you actually read these reviews, please note this should not be your standard. I've ordered furniture from Bob's Furniture and it was seamless from store to arrival. They scheduled the date and they automatically call you and tell how many stops away they are. Absolute disaster. I ordered a refrigerator in store and was given a delivery date of the following day. they notified me that the appliance would be delivered between 8 and 12. Never showed. After numerous attempts to contact the delivery # and the store in Columbia I could not get through. Called the 800 # and was on hold for more than an hour to discover that the order had been canceled. Went in person to the store and the agent told me that the order had been canceled and she didn't know why and apparently didn't care. The 800 # agent did try to resolve the matter but at that point I was fed up and went to Home Depot and bought from them. Lowes need to answer the phone. It is that simple. read more

While I think I prefer the items stocked at Home Depot - I never have had strong preference between the two brands. I mean, sure, I'd really prefer to find a local hardware store, but I just haven't had any luck finding one, so I just rotate between the big box stores. This particular Lowes, however, I have to give props to, i can almost always find someone to help me out. I equate going into a hardware store with either aimlessly walking around, or impatiently waiting behind a few people to ask the available associate a question. Sure - sometimes you find a great one (bringing a pregnant wife helps) who will follow through, but it's usually the exception not the rule. With this Lowes, it might just be my luck, but I almost always get asked "can I help you" as I stare a row of lightbulbs or am contemplating which shovel to get. Bonus points - the hot dogs at the cart out front are pretty good. read more

I was scheduled for a contractor to come to my home on a Saturday 8a-12p to measure for carpet and other flooring the contactor never showed or called. The supervisor called me the following Monday stating the contractor had a medical emergency and went to the hospital. I understood and rescheduled to the next Saturday and guess what the contractor again was a no call no show. I was asked to reschedule but declined because obviously they don't want my business. read more

Came here with my husband to buy a gallon gasoline container for our weed wacker. They had many in stock and we were able to get in and out quicky. The gasoline container has a switch mechanism so that it is child safe and clean. read more
