Came in this afternoon to grab a few for home improvement projects for my new house I'm moving into next month. Unfortunately, I wasn't not greeted when i came into the store, but they were really busy. After all, it is Saturday. We all have the same idea in mind, right. I could not really find any help so I was left to my own devices. I hardly come here and when I do I wanna hurry out. It's too much, because I wanna try all the projects I see on HVTV, and let's face it, I can't afford to do that. LOL! I did happen to find a young lady to ask a question about an item. She pointed towards where it could be, but I basically had to guess for the rest. I wish that she could have maybe guided be to the aisle a little more. I eventually found it and was on my way. Overall, I had an ok visit and didn't have an experience that would deter me from returning. Grade: B-

    Bathroom R.

Bathrooms are clean. All the doors lock. Soap and towel dispensers are full with the green option of hand dryers. Toilet liners are available. All the toilets flush great! This is what i expect for every home improvement stores bathrooms.

So stop in very soon if you want to go one more time. We've been coming here for a decade, they've been here for almost a century. It's very handy for us, and usually had most of what we need. Service was great, prices were decent. And convenience has a quality of its own. Now where will we go? Next closest place is probably Oakland, which is fine but at least 15 minutes away.

This is off the highway on the way to the airport. There is a large parking lot, and the greenhouse is huge! I went in for one thing & walked out with more than 10. I hand-build tiny, tiny ceramic pots, so I'm always looking for tiny plants to put in them. Straders has only a small selection of these pots & they are $6-15 depending on plant. DeMonye's had 10x the variety of what I usually find at Straders, and they were $4.49!! I did a little dance. You can find annuals, perennials, indoor plants, bulbs, seeds, soil, garden decor, pots, you name it! I also found flowers and berry plants for my garden. The staff was super knowledgeable and friendly. They said to check out their Facebook and IG for updates of what's in stock!

There weren't many plants when I went, but I assume it's due to the season. I definitely recommend going to see what treasures you can find.

The trend to reuse and refit urban structures that have gone to disuse has been in style for years now, mainly manifesting into mom-and-pop bistros, trendy micro breweries, or artistic spaces and gallory--mainly indy businesses that absolutely deserve our support in these harrowing times. But places like this are even more dear, as it's a place for green thumb locals to trade plants, give to fellow gardeners, and support each other for no price nor profit. A community building and solidifying center much indeed during these times. The plant library, if you are unfamiliar, is as its name suggest, a place you can get plants and other items for free. But unlike book libraries, you dont borrow plants, you pick up some by trading another; a kinda swap. Sitting in a abandon self-serve carwash locals also trade planters, seeds, and other item a fellow prospective botanist would desire. Just come in and sit down items and pick others up, kinda like the small book share boxes found around the city. Even more cool and community centric the Plant Library doubles as a art gallery with multiple units feature street-ish art murals, large canvas pieces, colorfully painted building structure, and interactive community wall with witty and sophomoric writing adds a street cool to the place. The background is: the place originated by the owners of Blank Slate Coffee, the coffee truck found on its premises, but then it feel out of favor for a couple year. Then the pesty bug came and shut everything down. A resident of Gahanna, while unemployed during the pandemic lockdowns took up the hobby of gardening and found it psychologically and spiritually fulfilling. So she gain community support via Facebook and got it reopened. Of course being winter now there wasn't any plants there now. The art work still makes it a trip worth going. I am a brown thumb though, everything alive I touch dies, lol, so I will have no use for that aspect, but it is a great place for those that can grow the greenery.
