This place is phenomenal! I found out about it when I went to Franklinton Fridays & one of the artists told me where she got one of her plants. This is off the highway on the way to the airport. There is a large parking lot, and the greenhouse is huge! I went in for one thing & walked out with more than 10. I hand-build tiny, tiny ceramic pots, so I'm always looking for tiny plants to put in them. Straders has only a small selection of these pots & they are $6-15 depending on plant. DeMonye's had 10x the variety of what I usually find at Straders, and they were $4.49!! I did a little dance. You can find annuals, perennials, indoor plants, bulbs, seeds, soil, garden decor, pots, you name it! I also found flowers and berry plants for my garden. Locally owned for 60 years. Great service and always a great selection. If you live on the East side, well worth a visit to DeMonye's instead of Lowe's; plants look so much better. They also have higher end and fresher potting soil selections. read more

Stopped out here on my first stop of my free time that I had yesterday afternoon. I am very surprised that I've never been here before and wanted to see what all the excitement was about. I walked around the various greenhouses to look at everything. I saw many houseplants that I liked but wanted to find something today that I didnt have. Some of the plants seem to be very dried out and needed watered. I picked up a peace lily from its holder and found it sitting in water. Ugh. I ended up purchasing two heartleaf philodendrons to add to my plant collection. read more

Signage is very confusing! My 38.00 self calculated purchase ended up being $62. Be very careful when you're filling up a flat that it is the same type of plant. Otherwise you're going to be charged much more. I used to love this place, family owned, kind and helpful people, but their prices have just on sky high! Oh my goodness, I died and went to heaven. No joke! I had heard tons of great things about deMonye's but no one ever explained the magnitude of greatness that was inside this enormous greenhouse! I had no clue what I was missing until I actually made it inside. I pulled in to a huge parking lot and made my way through the giant front doors. From the moment I walked in I was in complete awe. As you walk through the main entrance you immediately see countless garden accessories. Everything from adorable fairy garden trinkets, hanging wind chimes, gardening gloves, and even pink flamingos! I don't personally have a fairy garden but seeing all the tiny benches and umbrellas made me want to make one! From there I made my way into a giant plant oasis that seemed to just go on and on forever. Every corner you turned you discovered new plants. They have everything from tiny seedlings to giant ferns, succulents, pansies, petunias, hanging baskets, and herbs. I could go on and on. I could have dropped mad cash here but I made sure to control myself, knowing that in a few more weeks I could go berserk! It was literally snowing the day I went. You know how April goes in Ohio! Anyways, I got tons of amazing ideas for my flowerbeds and walked away with a beautiful succulent. It was at least five inches tall, in amazing condition, and only four dollars. Total steal! On top of the amazing labyrinth of endless plants, the staff here was super helpful. I was honestly one of the only people in the place at the time and they were happy to answer any questions I had or simply check in on me. I cannot wait to go back and I've already told some of my closest plant mama friends about this gem. We plan to come back this weekend and we'll likely become regulars in no time. read more

I absolutely love DeMonyes. It's like a little escape into a beautiful other world of flowers, unique plants and greenery. During the COVID lockdown, it was such a dream to stroll through and get out of the house. Not too crowded and lots of space for social distancing. Succulent selection, basket fillers, annual flats, herbs... tons of selection! The hanging baskets are gorgeous! Staff is helpful and friendly. Lots of parking and easy to get to off the highway or Sunbury road. read more

I have been purchasing my plants from DeMoynes for years. They have a tremendous selection of both annuals and perennials. They had fewer perennials this year than they normally do but I think it's because their business has been affected by the pandemic. I recommend this place to anyone who is into gardening. read more

This place has a great selection of funky succulents and houseplants for amazing prices! 4" succs for $5-6. By far the best quality and price in Columbus IMO. I also was able to find a fairy "zombie" plant, and lots of strings of (insert hearts/dolphins/turtles/ruby necklace. Now that spring has sprung they also have "water plants" , herbs and veggies, flower beds etc. They don't have a large selection of pottery however, but lots of parking and the staff is very helpful! So nice I went twice ~ in one week! Earlier in the week I was fortunate enough to attend Yelp's Adulting event at DeMoyne's where we made adorable succulent gardens. As someone who is always early to everything, I got there 30 minutes early to check out their inventory & my mind was blown! I knew I'd be making a return visit which ended up being today after an event at another location left me disappointed. Today I arrived at DeMoyne's with some idea of the plants I wanted based on my prior visit but little idea on how to plant and arrange them. I had inquired about if that was a service they provided and I was directed back to Kathy for further assistance and that is what inspired this review. Kathy couldn't have been more helpful. She immediately dropped whatever she was doing to assist me. She evaluated my succulent selection to ensure that I had enough items and that they paired nicely together. She then began the layout like only a professional could & then began the planting process once we reached agreement. She provided me with great detail about environmental needs such as amounts of sunlight and water that is needed to make the plants thrive. Did I mention this service was FREE? What a greenhouse/nursery wishes it could be! This place is great. They have a large selection of annuals, perennials and succulents along with so many other options. This place is huge! The prices are also very reasonable and their plants are healthy and ready to grow inside your home. I have gotten great customer service here and they are happy to tell you more about whatever plant you have your eye on. One of my favorite things is the large collection of fairy garden items. I only got a few things from their collection but will be back for more. A really lovely place! read more

We kept hearing about the DeMonye's Haunted Greenhouse, so I knew we needed to check it out. Held daily during regular hours throughout the month of October, this fun Halloween/autumn event is a blast for kids 12 and under and their families. Despite the "haunted" title, the haunted house section is located in the far back and is only a fraction of the activities you'll find here. There's also a straw maze, games (basketball, dodge ball area, ring toss, etc), playground area with climbing and slides, a corn box (like a sandbox, but with corn), live animals (goats, bunnies, pigs, chickens), and more. The entry fee for kids includes a goody bag, a pumpkin (you'll find stickers to decorate the pumpkin inside your goody bag), a juice and popcorn. We had a blast and easily spent three hours exploring and playing. It was a lot of fun! We'll definitely be keeping this in mind for an annual event. The parking lot is quite large, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the bathrooms were clean and nicely decorated. read more

One of the largest family owned greenhouses in Columbus! deMonye's greenhouse has been in Columbus since 1929, it was started by 4 brothers from Holland who came here to sell daffodil and tulip bulbs. The business has since been owned by another family for 53 years. Aside from the awesome history and being locally owned, the selection is worth writing about! One item I couldn't help but admire were their large and exquisitely created planters. They have a ton of these stand alone pieces for a front porch that will have your home looking like an estate, or of course, if you already have an estate, then you need to get to deMonye's and properly adorn your home! I foolishly forgot to take a picture, but I wouldn't joke about gorgeous plants! I have visited and made purchases from DeMonye's many times. My most recent trip was during COVID times. My mission was to get some perennials for my new yard. I did not want to spend a fortune because I did not know what would do well in my soil and with my lack of sun in places in my yard. At the time DeMonye's was having a flat perennial sale that almost seemed like a steal. I picked up a flat of perennials and if only half make it, it will still be worth the money spent. I love walking thru the greenhouse looking at all types of plants even if I am not in the market for some of them. The greenhouse just keeps going, and going, and going. Oh and they have a great succulent selection if you are looking for succulents. Please find your way to DeMonye's, even if it is just to take a walk through. read more

If I'm on top of my game and time it up right, I love to do my veggie garden shopping here. I never plant until after Mother's Day, but I know I need to get my plants before then. I only have a small section of the backyard for my garden. Over the years, I've narrowed down my planting to only cherry and roma tomatoes, jalepeno peppers, and random other plants - recently cucumbers and also strawberries this year. What's important to me is to get the 3 pack/$2 mini flats. At many other places, you have to buy the plants individually and they are NOT CHEAP! So what I do is buy the 3 packs and leave them in the garage/front porch to water by hand and protect until after Mother's Day and they are hearty enough to hold up in a heavy rain. This year, I did pretty well. All the plants made it to planting day and only 3 died in the first couple weeks and needed replacing (at $3 per plant). The shopping experience is quite simple for me. I go after work on a weekday so it's not the crazy weekend rush. Parking is easy. I walk to the area of the greenhouse where I know the vegetables are. I grab an empty flat and fill it with the plants that I've selected. I just about fill up one flat. I was next in line at the register. The lady had already been rung up - but continued to talk to the cashier for several more minutes. There was also what looked like a vendor waiting to speak with the cashier. Fortunately, when the cashier was finally free, the vendor waived me through. The ring up was simple and payment quick. The most time-consuming part of being there was the wait in line. I love the location, low cost and simplicity of getting in and out. I will be back again next spring time if not sooner! read more

This place is Succulent Heaven, great prices, and I love the terra cotta pot selection, I was really excited to find the chocolate terra cotta pots. Got a bunch of adorable, well sprouted succulent plugs and with some tidying, made a pretty little arrangement for my mom which would have cost easily $25-$40 from a flower shop but I made it for about $7‍ Staff was sweet and helpful too, I'll definitely be back. read more

Beautiful greenhouse with a plentiful selection of flowers and vegetables. Prices are reasonable but whatever price difference between places like this and your local Lowe's/Hime Depot - you can see the difference in the product. Those places are great and I do purchase plants from them also but the selection at DeMonye's are clear they come from their own greenhouses and the plants are much further along. read more

If I need some plants, there is one place I think of first, DeMonye's. They are perfect for any type of plant that you might need or want. The place is so huge. Which also translates into a huge selection and variety of plants. My favorite section to visit is the vegetable section. I'm currently growing Carolina Reapers and Trinidad Scorpion peppers that are currently thriving, from DeMonye's. Everything they have is very healthy. Also the staff has a vast knowledge about the plants they sell too. Don't be afraid to ask them anything. If they don't know they will find someone who will. read more

While in Columbus for work, I drove by deMonye's and had to stop after seeing the selection from the road. Boy am I glad I did.. I just wish I had more time to spend looking around. Here's my short, sweet, and (hopefully) informative review. 1 - Selection was awesome. More sections/areas than any greenhouse I've recently seen. 2- Pricing seemed reasonable on some items, but not others. I purchased a garden in a box, which included a tomato plant, basil, peppers, chives, lettuce and squash, already planted and growing nicely, for $25. Hanging baskets seemed a little pricey to me, however, they looked beautiful. 3 - Quality was very nice. Everything I looked at was beautiful, and the greenhouse gardeners did a really good job of keeping everything healthy, in order, and well watered. I'm not from the area, but I know the next time I come through town, I'm going to be stopping. read more

Plants and selection are always perfect. After looking all over town for a particular variety of tomato plant and being told no one in the city carrys it, I found them here. A nice local greenhouse, but sometimes the selection isn't the best, and prices are a bit high. This is the closest nursery to me, so I can run over easily, but if I have time I go farther afield. I find Demoynes to be an excellent resource for herbs and vegetables. They have the nicest Rosemary plants that are very large and their Bay Leaf trees are full and practically perfect plants. They stock my favorite garden shoes - Sloggers! read more

I'm writing this review based on previous visits - I haven't been there this winter. :-) I stumbled upon it accidentally driving down 670... are those greenhouses? They ARE greenhouses! And this was at a time where I was attempting to turn my black thumb green, so I just HAD to go. When spring comes around, hike yourself here. Their selection of flowers (vine geraniums!) and veggies (heirloom tomatoes, raspberries, strawberries, squash) cannot be beat. All the plants are super healthy and thriving, too. Even someone like me has to try pretty hard to kill them off. They even have harder to find plants, like succulents and miniatures. read more

Went here on recommendation from my neighbor. The plants are organized by category (shade, sun, ground cover, pollinators, etc) so it was very easy to find plants for a shady yard compared to my experience at Oakland. It was nicely organized and the signage was very helpful. They even have their own signs that tell you what to plant in what type of areas. Even though there weren't any workers walking around it didn't seem necessary with how helpful all of the signs / custom labels were. I've been to Oakland about 5 times this year and always left empty handed due to feeling overwhelmed and not being able to find that I was looking for. My first time at deMoynes I left with $400 in plants to fill my front yard and I will for sure be back! read more
